Thank you all for your comments and love! Your support means the world to me. I’m currently writing a NEW album based on my theme to Civilization VI “Sogno di Volare” (The Dream of Flight) and taking my fans on a journey through the creative process. Christopher Tin I'm a fairly new fan! Discovered this while waiting for the game then, discovered Baba Yetu and all your other pieces. This was divine! I still get tears in my eyes when listening. The blending of instruments is just so amazing especially the percussion instruments.
"You're plotting a new course again, aren't you?" "The currents before us are ever changing. We must adapt and press forward, if we are to see our journey's end." "And how will we know when we get there?" *Smirks meaningfully*
"It is the nature of humankind to push ourselves toward the horizon. We test our limits. We face our fears. We rise to the challenge. And become something greater than ourselves: a Civilization!"
RU-vid: "There's NO way you could create a more dignified version of "Sogno di Volare" than you have" Christopher Tin: "Hold my baton...actually, no, wait, give it back to me please, I'll need it" *This Video happens*
I can't think of a single song that fits mankind better than this one. I'm not really a fan of Civ, but wow, the soundtrack alone just might change that.
I can: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IJiHDmyhE1A.html The focus is different, the idea is the same. As is the composer. As is the game.
Well it fits to the better "face" of mankind. Hunger for advance in technology, pushing the limits and eager for discovering new things. Humans can also be sometimes very primitive and aggresive race. But these two are going together hand in hand. That's how we are. But one day.. I believe that we will surpass our differences and together we will expand to the universe and other worlds. I don't know when but we will. I know it.
While I recognize it's beautiful, I can surely tell you that your opinion stands only for you. You can't state a fact in the absolute. Hope you're not offended, nice journey.
Indeed Christopher Tin is a great composer and this is great works. I look forward to the day when my in-game civilisation gets him as their Great Musician!
Over this last weekend I was at the Smithsonian, and it gave me a new love for this song, especially when visiting the Air and Space Museum. This was playing in my head as I was walking thinking about how far come as a species just by our drive to explore, know and experience all the wonders of our universe. Needless to say, it was bone chilling.
When I first launched this game, I was absolutely breathless. Never once in my life had the intro video to a game ever left me breathless. My every hair stood on end, my body was rigid, my eyes wide. I was astonished, and while I must give credit to the animators, and voice actors, the real emotion came, almost solely, from the music. A beautiful piece.
Minutes before defending my thesis, I was practicing my presentation, listening to your music. In addition to being inspired, I was able to remember what it meant to me to get to that stage, and fulfill my dream of becoming an ergonomist. Your work is a treasure of the musical arts, of which I am proud to be a fan. Thanks to your talent, I am inspired to pursue a new course...🤓🤩📚💡
After listening to this and Sogno Di Volare countless and countless times, I still manage to tear up because of the beauty of both songs. Truly inspiring!
"Your plotting a new course again, aren't you?" "The currents before us are ever changing, we must adapt, and push forward if we are to see our journeys end." "And how will we know when we get there?"
Me: What's over there dad? Dad (when I was three): The whole backyard. Dad (when I was five): The whole neighborhood. Dad (when I was ten): The whole world. Dad (when I was fifteen): The whole universe. Dad (just before he died): Your whole backyard.
“You’re plotting a new course again, aren’t you?” “The currents before us are ever changing. We must push on if we are to see our journey’s end.” “And how will we know when we get there?” *Smile shifts into a great scene*
Christopher I only learned of your music a few weeks ago, but you are incredible. this song in particular speaks to my soul it is so beautiful. Thanks for your great work of art!
The entire piece is just stunning, but that calming of the music at 2:00 just fills me with emotion every time I hear it - Christopher really nailed it
My favorite part of this piece is the piano solo, a game is only as good as it’s soundtrack, and the civilization soundtrack is one of the best. It so perfectly encapsulates the creation of our civilization, the struggles and the successes, it, in some odd way, reminds me why I wake up in the morning, to be the greatest I can be.
This song reminds me of the Formula One World Championship. A new course is set every year - new innovations, new rivalries, and new storylines. Formula One is the sport of all sports - 20 drivers, or "nations", battle, one nation emerges victorious. Twenty-three races per season - carnage, speed, and stamina crucial to each one.
I don't know why I'm commenting about this but there is no harm in doing so. Recently, actually just yesterday I've lost someone extremely dear to me, the sadness is beyond measures. Today, somehow RU-vid recommended this to me. I've played Civ 6 in the past and I know where this is played so I click on this video. After listening to this a couple times, I had some reflections. Life is full of uncertainties, like what the intro said "The currents before us are everchanging". As of now I'm still in grief but there's only one way in life, it's to move forward. It will be very hard or even nearly impossible for me now but I know I must adapt, plot a new course, and press forward. At the same time I don't want all my memories with her to be forgotten. Like what the culture victory says "The worth of a culture is not measured by it's accomplishments, but in how those accomplishments last and how they are remembered". I may move on eventually but I want her to be remembered. May Yozora Mel's legacy withstand the test of time. Anyway, this piece is still very inspiring even up to this day. I'm 7 years late but, thank you for this outstanding soundtrack.
Sorry to hear about your loss. I wonder if this piece would likewise help release some pain for you - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kdPRDjw1yQo.html
2:01 always gets me. That quiet reflection before an epic new horizon. "This is for you, *insert loved one*." That's something we can all relate to, because that is quintessentially human. No matter how far we go, even beyond the stars, we still don't want to forget the "little" things we draw our true strength from.
Thanks for making this song! Fired up this game for the first time last week and the intro cinematic with this music made me feel very emotional, almost to the point of tears. Very moving, and reminded me of how far we actually have come as a people.
if you survive the war cart you can send your legions, remember that Gilgamesh receive this unit very early in the game with no strategic resources required. O.P.
When i opened the Civilization VI for the very first time and this song started to play i just couldn't start the game immediately, i just couldn´t jump this music masterpiece, I had to listen it. Christopher Tin, thank you from the bottom of my heart for this music, take care.
I’m just realizing that this song is separate from sogno do volare, I guess I just liked them so much I couldn’t tell the difference, I also realized I commented under sogno do volare that I liked the piano solo thinking it was a new course, and I find this to be one of my most embarrassing moments on the internet, anyways, I really like the piano solo in this song.
This music is pure beauty. Simple epic and great. It awakens hope, and belief in humanity in a time, when everything you hear is about pain, suffering and misery.
this makes me nostalgic of years where the new world was first discovered, and there was actual pirates not the wannabe Somalis. I was still born 1000 years later, though.
Imagine being a Somali pirate, risking your life and limb every day made even worse during the coronavirus pandemic as shipping grinds to near halts only for you and your colleagues to still be called wannabe pirates.
I can imagine myself flying to this music. As if gravity doesn't exist and I was floating through the sky whilst I'm overlooking the entire world. 👌 magnificent
And "A New Course" you have chosen. The mechanics for the most part just completely changes the game. Whether for the good or worse, you tied its knots and prayed for the best through the rugged seas. Along the way, new ideas came to life and bread new ways on how to look at the world. And it is with your faith Civ 6 was made. ;P
Nice. I love the main theme of civilization 3,4 and 6. Just got this game a few days ago and played a bit of the tutorial but i left the intro play and now i'm here. :)
May we shape the world and ourselves to this music. Let those who have eyes see. Let those who have ears hear. In the name of freedom, love, prosperity, and all that is good..may we live together in peace, may we share culture with understanding, may we untie.
Please become the composer for the next Zelda game. I need this in my life. Also, you could totally be a full-on Hollywood film composer! (Remember me when all this actually happens, everyone)
ahhhh I don't even play civilization but this is the most beautiful and motivating music I've ever heard!! Every time I listen to this while studying makes me into the legendary historically significant scholar who have decided to travel into the everlasting wonders of knowledge lol
