Recorded at home, 25th July 2020. Feat: Ordinary Man, Bright Blue Rose, Joxer, How Long, Sacco & Vanzetti, I Pity the Poor Immigrant. Sorry about the delay with this one - I hope ye enjoy. Christy
I'm glad he's not 'mainstream'...that makes him more special for those of us who 'know'. The masterful, seemingly effortless ease of his performance is magical everytime for me, although there's some songs I find it had to get through without a throat lump. Ah geez...hahaha. In my opinion...he's unique, with a charm and honesty that sees him loved by millions. A real living legend.
I just found this tonight, it’s absolutely wonderful, this is what I love about Christy, he gives so much of himself to the songs, be it in the biggest venues on the planet or at home with his son, it’s the mark of the man. ❤️
Christy speaks of MacGowan as a poet but he is a true poet in his own sense. All songs he sings are brought to life with unsung emotions and feeling which are not just heard but felt in a way which is unimagined.
Fabulous, you have a voice that could charm the birds from the trees, such poignant words and truly amazing voice. Thank you so much for the joy and happiness you have given to everyone. I'm sitting here moved to tears of happiness and emotion that you have brought to us all by these videos. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Xx
Still the master strummer the timing dynamics and deliverance unequaled to this day . Thundering yet sweet voice of the warrior Bard . Giving us all the strength and hope Fair play our living legend Christy Moore up ya boy ya !!! Greetings from Clondalkin
Charles Doherty ‘‘tis indeed not my type of music but has it all the same Shame more pubs around aren’t the same . For I’m not sure what’s worse a pub with no music or a pub with no beer 😂😂
@@finneire2081 The Music brings you in and Beer makes you stay a bit longer ? (Try again !) The Beer's great, then the music begins and you know for the next few hours happiness will reach every pore. ( I choose this )
Bright Blue Rose, I Pity the Poor Immigrant. Two of my favourite songs Christy has sang. Beautiful. But I just don't know what they are on about. Maybe best not to know. Wonderful
Grazie Christy, le tue melodie e la tua poesia mi accompagnano da tantissimi anni. Anche il sogno per un mondo migliore! È sempre un piacere ascoltare la tua musica. Grazie! 👍💪🌺

So good to see and hear you - ever since I followed you around London Pubs in the 80s. A smile for Joxter, a tear for Bright Blue Rose. Many thanks dear Christy.

Christy, we'll wait for as long as it takes to hear your lovely, soothing voice; may God bless you! Over 30 years away from Ireland and I still remember your concerts: they stand out in my memory.
It's been an absolute privilage to watch/listen to these sessions! It's like a seisun in my own sitting room! Thank you so much and keep it up! PS Andy - you have a great voice!
Such a kind spirit Christy I remember working as a security guard 10 years ago in the lighthouse Cinema in Smithfield he give all the staff tickets to see his gig very nice gesture still love your music
I look forward to each episode. I’ve been unable to see my folks due to the pandemic, so it warms my heart to see and hear Christy and Andy shoot the breeze and sing together. Thanks for sharing with us, both of you. Much love.
Really appreciate you both taking the time to make all of these videos, hopefully be able to see you live in person some time in the near future 👍 All the best
thank you so much Christy for these wonderful littie personal concerts. I'd love you to sing Veronica if you could fit it in. All the best to you and Andy
This day 2 years ago I saw Christy preform in leisure land in Galway it was unbelievable . I had planned on seeing him this year again but sadly the virus didn’t accommodate hoping to get out to see another concert again always amazing and breathtaking my favourite songs are Finnegan’s wake and the ballad of ruby Walsh (with the Galway races just over) I would love to hear either of these again if possible Thanks Andy and Christy these videos are amazing and great to hear
Just discovered this video while looking fir the proper way to play Black is the color. Thanks for that n this ! My day has been made . Long live C M !
Just stumbled across these lockdown sessions and can't stop catching up at silly o'clock in the morning. Love to hear "old man song" from the box set (Green?). Used to sing it to my daughter when she was wee. She called it the turnip song..... At the turning of the century. 😂
I ended up running away to New York to find more sessiuns mid tech career. No regrets! Still don't know which way is up really but, it's much better than acting like I do know!
Sorry my story telling lacks continuity. I started playing bodhran about 40 years ago after seeing you in Berkeley.... and things unwound from there...in a lovely way. I think I was always antifa.
I keep coming back to these. It's like going into christys house and having a session, now that would be something. I have been to many of his concerts but what I'd give to shake his hand...
I´ve just discovered and heard all 8 sessions by the way: Thank you! Mainly because I am paying the full attention to the whole thing again this evening. I hope for new "real" concerts in Germany or "if necessary" in Ireland
It's an interesting point you raise with the melody of I pity the Poor immigrant. I remember when i was younger and realising just how many folk songs were played in the same melody as each other and it was actually this very melody that brought it to my realisation. Namely Tramps and Hawkers and Shanes Song with no name. But then i realised it was the same song i'd heard for years locally as the Celtic fans chant one version whilst the Billy boys chant another in the same vesrion. haha.. In fact, the very man i grew up listening to as a young child was an amazing ability to do this. that was Matt McGinn who also had the knack of making an Important poluitical point yet at the same time could turn it into a childrens nursery rhyme that anyone can grrow up listening to and the point grows on them as they grow and mature. Yep. Folk musics brilliant. Our Folk Music. the Real Folk Music eh Music of the folk! look forward to hearing some more in the next sessions or better still, Live. Cheers Kev
Only discovered these lockdown sessions recently fair play men keep up the good work and hopefuly i get to see you on the road a few more times in healthier times i'm 3 shows away from having seen Christy 50 times
Christy, loved your songs so long now, as an English bloke met a girl from Twinbrook, now my wife with kids, living in Belfast. Saw you 10 years ago in La Salle , when you sang Voyage you did it again, put something in my eye. Not a hero , a musical friend.
Christy listening from Manila brother, Hope your feeling well. Love your great spirit and true beliefs that you never ever diluted or sacrificed. The brothers of history look down on you with pride, you never let any of your brothers down, God bless you Christy.
great stuff ! thank you Christy and Andy for keeping this going been listening to Christy for many many years now never heard him sing a Van Morrison song i wonder if you ever have?
Happy Easter my friend 💚💛💚 you have no understanding of the inpack you have had on my life. Absolutely incredible you are, Jesus loves you. And God is watching the lore that is the "human race" God bless you and your blood line. To the future hold on to the past, its our freedom!
Christy, you punch me in the heart every bloody time!!! The tears burst out. You are the Sorolla of song. The neofascist Vox is in charge of education in Murcia now. No pasaran in Madrid though. Our Pablo is rolling his sleeves up and facing Ayuso. Cross your fingers for Spain please Christy.
