A good book on this topic if you are someone who deals with this pain and doesn’t understand why is “Why do I hurt?: workbook” by Adrian Louw and really explains why the body does what it does and gives examples of how to gain control over your pain

Not true stress from abuse or trauma can cause pain but it’s doesn’t cause IbS or breast cancer or fibromyalgia that’s a thing your born with

Youth fibromyalgia or AMPS (autoimmune musculoskeletal pain syndrome) can be caused by a traumatic event or constant abuse and is a very valid syndrome (that I currently suffer with) and is a mind/body condition in the nerves

This is theory is false. Abuse does not cause pain. Take a bunch of women in a study about breast cancer and I promise you a good majority were sexually abused as a child. Not because sexual trauma causes breast cancer, because such a high percentage of women were abused as kids. I have suffered chronic pain long term, severe pain. No abuse. Nuff said.

Abuse CAN cause pain, but it doesn’t mean that it always does. As someone who was abused and then developed a chronic pain condition BECAUSE of the abuse, it is a very real thing and numerous doctors and studies have been found and spoke about it being a literal and real thing. It is often someone’s nerves being fired and the brain taking in regular pain cues and amplifying them much more than they usually would be in a normal person. Google AMPS as a specific condition because of abuse or an event (and is also caused by injury sometimes)
