Chrysler Town and Country Window Regulator Replace 

Thanks a million, I pulled the door panel off to replace the power lock actuator then realized I had no idea where to go from there. This same process worked great for me on my 2008 Town & Country, it's nice to have the drivers side power lock working again, but what a pain.

Tasked performed on my 2010 Town & Country. Perfect no Frills video. I was able to complete the job in one event and refer back to the video and see exactly any issues on reassembly. My wife is thrilled. Robert, you ought to consider doing more videos.

Thanks for posting this! I just used it to repair a 2008 Dodge Avenger. The setup is pretty much exactly the same. I was able to do it without removing the latch assembly my unhooking the assembly over the lock after unscrewing the lock knob. This was a huge help! Thank you!

Great video! Thanks. A tip for holding the window up is to use wedges pushed downward in the window slot. Any downward slipping tightens the wedge instead of loosening it.

Awesome job. Did my driver's side today using your video. Worked great. There were two rods to unclip at the door latch/lock. Other than that, pretty much the same. Thank you for taking the time to make the video.

Great video. Successfully replaced mine today,couldn't have done without your video. Only issue I had was I couldn't detach whatever was on the latch side holding the panel in. But I was able to slip the rails behind and do it in place.

Thank you for making the video. Saved me disassembly time. All was well until i tried to replace the driver side door lock linkage. 2 hours of trying to fit that rod in the hole. Found an easy fix. Put the rod in the lock mechanism before you install it . take it loose on the top end then you can SEE where the upper connection is made thru the top of the window. made for an easy fix. FYI there is a purple and purple with yellow wire with a plug that is NOT connected to anything in the door . i spent time looking to where to plug it in .

Thank you for a very straight forward, easy to understand without all the BS lots of others include in their help videos. I was a Mopar tech for 20+ years but got out in 2000 so when I took the door panel off our 2008 T&C I was a bit intimidated by the inner plastic piece. I also learned you don't have to repl. the motor unless you want to. On the earlier models it was a PITA to only repl. the regulator. Thanks Again!

Thank you for this how to video... My wifes Routan had the window drop the drivers side a couple days ago. Watched your video a couple times and was able to install a new regulator in just over 2 hours. The drivers side had an extra rod with a white clip for the door key and the clip that you pointed out as the blue one was orange on mine. I should have paid more attention to securing the window too... had it drop a couple times. Very odd design compared to others regulator setups but beats the heck out of rivets. Thanks again for a great video.

Well mine lasted 10 years before it broke but you saved me a few hundred bucks still! thanks for the vid. Dorman replacement regulator was just over 40 on Amazon, $20 cheaper than anywhere local.

Thanks for the video... I've had the drivers side of my 2011 VW Routan (same as T&C) fail twice before and the passenger side just failed earlier this week. This video made it a good bit easier this time around. This must be a very common failure in these minivans!

Thanks for this. I bought the regulator was going to have safelight put it in but they wanted $$125. I figured doing it my self would be better. I have a 2009 VW Routan which is primarily a town and country.. has Chrysler products all in it.

Robert, thank you so much! This video saved me a ton of money by helping me do this repair myself on our 2012 Grand Caravan. The steps were nearly identical - just a couple small differences behind the circular, rubber cover. Also a tip... If your window is equipped with auto-up and it doesn't work after this repair, refer to the reset procedure found on this site: www.autoglassreplacementquote.com/door-glass/window-recalibration-reset-reprogramming-sequences/

MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE METAL DOOR LATCH BACK UP WHEN REINSTALLING THE DOOR PANEL!! If possible it would be a good idea to remind people to put the metal arm that latches to the outdoor handle back up when reinstalling the door panel. I neglected to do this and had to remove the entire panel including the window to correct this. A simple mention would have saved me a lot of extra work and stress. I hope this post saves someone the same drama, as this is literally the only thing that can’t be fixed without removing everything.

Great video. My stock 2012 Dodge had a dark brown regulator frame, that one your replacing looks just like the Dorman replacement I got in the mail. Also my lock only had 1 wire harness plug going to it, facing inboard, didnt have to one facing up maybe model difference? Lube the rubber track once you get it installed if it doesnt go up automatically, mine didnt auto up until I lubed it. Mine also stuck out of the window felt about 1/8 inch higher that the original. Not an issue but just an observation and I did confirm the window was snapped into the nylon carriers. The lock mechanism can be left in the door (or installed seperately) if you pop its frame out of the door panel, it prys up about 1/2 inch and comes off 3 tangs, visible when you get the panel and lock off the door.

One hint: make sure all the pins that hold the panel to the door are actually in the panel, before reinstalling it. When I pried off the panel, quite a few of these pins were stuck in the door, not in the panel. A lot easier to do when the panel is disconnected...
