I’m currently reading Bookshops & Bonedust. I really want to get to Foul Heart Huntsman and Fourth Wing before the year ends. But I’m going to prioritize my book club and library loans first so we’ll see.

I loved if we were villains! I was heartbroken after reading it 😅 if you like pretentious people murdering each other then you will love it, it goes without saying it’s heavily Shakespearian inspired and he’s quoted nearly every page so just know that going in ☺️

I read the eighth life last year?? this year?? time is a flat circle lmao but if you like generational family dramas and cyclical story telling I think you would really enjoy it! It's a little (a lot) intimidating but imo once I got in the flow of all these family members it was kind of a breeze to get through it

Love your videos!I adored Eileen but know that it is in no way a cute Christmas book, it’s honestly super disturbing and gross and the Christmas setting doesn’t have very much to do with it if I remember correctly.

The Eighth Life is one of my all-time favorite books! (I think I”ve told you that before actually… lol). I agree with @maybeillreadtoday that it is actually a pretty quick read (on a per-page basis). I read it in a week while I was traveling in Georgia, so it wasn’t even like I was reading all day every day.

I loved “If We Were Villains” when I read it a few years ago! But I do have a background in acting and theater so it was easy for me to connect with the characters and /some/ of their experiences. (Not including murder obviously). I’m not super familiar with Shakespeare, but I recognized the archetypes the characters represented. Such drama! 👍🏼👍🏼

I’m reading the compete works of Sherlock Holmes on my kindle. I’m going really slow because it’s my public transport on way to work book. I’m like 20% through but obviously it’s massive. I find them to be really easy reads. They’re quite pulpy, shlocky and silly. People might think it’s highbrow literature but it totally isn’t lol. I’m also reading the lighthouse witches by c.j Cooke. Not finished but I fell in love with opening sentences in the bookshop, and I loved the cover. Mystery, generational trauma, actual witches, set in Scotland.

I’m currently working through the books I started to read this year but never finished so it is ”Inside the Whale and Other Novels” - George Orwell, ”Stung with Love: Poems and Fragments” - Sappho, ”Damnation Spring - Ash Davidson” and ”Braiding Sweetgrass - Robin Wall Kimmerer” ❤

It's kind of a fallish series but I could associate it with winter you should totally read kate milford's greenglass house book series. It was so whimsical and comforting it almost felt like and old friend you should totally read them.

Some great choices, I want to check out The Eighth Life as I love a good doorstopper that I can immerse myself in! I'm currently rereading Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell and I'm going to at least start The Marriage Portrait before the end of the year 🤞

I love all the moomin books and read most of them. Although they are characterized as children's books, there is so much wisdom in them that can really only be appreciated as an adult. I hope you enjoy moomin midwinter!

End of year TBR is finish the throne of glass series and start the crescent city series, read Priory of the orange tree, iron flame, start wheel of time, maybe read game of thrones… a bunch, but so little time haha

I can't believe you have one of my all time favorites on your bookshelf that makes me so happy for no reason. Morrigan Crow book series by Jessica Townsend is so amazing!
