I use audio books when I’m exercising, cleaning, working in my studio, or doing craft work. Video games are a little too distracting for me usually. But I know what you mean about needing to do something with your hands. Whenever I just listen to an audio book without doing something else, I usually fall asleep! 😅
I can JUST listen if i'm reallyyyyy tired, so i can just close my eyes and cuddle my cat and listen to the story. Thank u for these cozy game recs, truly a need!!
I needed this!! I have to play a game while listening audiobooks or watch tv or any simple task that requieres attention since i qm neurodivergent ADHD
i’d never thought to listen to audiobooks while gaming, usually i’m either getting ready in the morning or i just space out with a cup of tea when i’m getting through my audiobooks 🌱
Thanks for the recommendations! I love playing Don’t Starve while listening to audiobooks, but I also listen to audiobooks while cleaning, driving, and walking the dog. 🐶 💕
Yeah I listen to audiobooks while cleaning as well as cooking. I just put the audiobook on through my headphones so the sounds of me cooking aren't too loud. I also like doing my nails while listening to audiobooks. I do often just sit there and listen though.
I usually just play really basic puzzle games when I want to keep my hands busy while listening to something - sudoku, solitaire, nonograms, etc. Some of those cleaning games sound really nice for something different! I’ll have to add them to my list.
I love powerwash simulator. I love the game so much, I have no thoughts while playing which is lovely break from thinking if I need it, and makes it so perfect if I want to add in an audio book.
i thought i was the only one who played game while listening to audiobooks!!!!! i can do it for HOURS & it's soooooo relaxing!!!! i tend to go for very simple puzzles like knockoffs of candy crush, suika, or some cute 2048 clones (my fave replaces the number tiles with different cats!!!), so i'm very excited to try a little to the left & the shape of things!!!
Hi Monica! Thank you for making this video! 💜 I love love to listen to audiobooks while playing cozy games, I honestly do coral island, cozy grove and lately unpacking! Sending you a big hug and I really like your channel!
I listen to audiobooks on my commute and find them good for non-fiction reads that I might not feel as excited to pick up. But sometimes I have a hard time vibing with the voice reading them! As for spring - I just got back from Prague which was stunning! And I am making time to meet with friends and family xx
animal crossing always works for me. oh and stardew valley! Once, I made an entire online course at night shopping trees and farming the mines while listening to the teacher, just to prevent myself from falling asleep :D
Ooh I'm always trying to game while listening to audiobooks but I think I choose games that are too distracting because I end up having to rewind😂I'm gonna try some of these out, especially Pikmin! 😂
A coworker of mine Just recommended books to me that I should 100% listen to as an audiobook, so this is super helpful !! I also have a hard time focusing without my hands doing something while I listen. I used to just play Stardew while I listened to podcasts in the past but it’s been hard for me to get back into it lately…I definitely will check out Cult of the Lamb and A Little To The Left ! Thank you so much :)
love these suggestions! not a cozy game but i like to listen to audiobooks while crafting and gathering in ffxiv :) otherwise i usually listen to them at the gym or while driving or cleaning
OMG!!! I haven't heard of Listening before! I'm a science major and I need audio to help with my learning. I've been testing out a few different things like this but this one seems like it'll be perfect for me! Thank you sponsor gods!
Hi Monika! As an avid reader like yourself, I’ve been enjoying following along on a physical book while I’m listening to an audiobook. I often find it gives me a mental break With life being so busy these days. One piece of advice that I can give you is that if you have a Kindle any books that are downloaded from the Amazon Kindle space can actually be read to you through the Alexa app but Alexa for free. It’s actually considered an accessibility tool and it’s pretty awesome for those of us who want to save money on buying audiobooks so you would only really either need to rent the book through Kindle unlimited or purchase the book and then use the Alexa app and choose your book and it’ll be read to you free of charge. Good luck! Always love your content ❤😊
Girliepop this is the first video of yours that I’ve ever seen and you might be my new favourite RU-vidr! :) this is SUCH a great video idea!! I might download a few of these games 🥰
I just booted up A Little to the Left today so I could use it while I catch up on RU-vid videos. It has been so nice so far. I also beat Little Kitty, Big City this morning. That required a smidge more brain power, but it's also very chill and cute.
Art games , simulators that are simple and fun. Or being a cat or something. Being lost in the woods to make your audio even more scary. Actually you should pair the genre of games to the books you’re listening to. Nevermind I think I answered all my questions
I play tetris 99 on the switch I have hundreds of hours on it 😅 that's my go to with audio books, I have been looking for something else. I want to try Catan now!
I usually listen to audiobooks while drawing, but it can get kind of exhausting drawing for like hours at a time so im excited to try some of these games instead.
Love this video! I'm always looking for game recommendations to play while listening to audiobooks. Honestly Catan board game both sounds and looks way to stressful for me to keep up with the book... but I definitely have to give Pikmin 4 a go now! I also love doing Disney Dreamlight Valley tasks, whether that's fishing, or doing my mining route, time bending, or grinding star path quests. And Fresh start is a good one too! I don't know how long Fresh Start is, but I recommend the game "No Place Like Home". It's from the same developers and has a similar concept only that it has some other things to do as well. But it has tons of sucking and cleaning up (I'm 30 hours in to it on PC and not done yet so it has a lot of content). I'm kind of tight on money so I tend to gravitate towards games that last me longer than one full audiobook, preferably one with replayability. So DDV and ACNH are my absolute go-tos. I also recommend Pokémon games! Specifically Legends Arceus.. as long as you aren't doing the storylines, I can spend hours shiny hunting and completing my pokédex
Ns for me I need to play a game…. Not clean. I clean before. My mind gets lost while doing to mindless tasks hints like …. Cleaning. Music is for cleaning. And tasks you wanna fly through…, not do slowly. Audio books are meant to enjoy and do maybe 2 hours at a time.
I’m convinced people who can listen to audio books and do nothing else and just sit there are psychopaths and murderers (jk of course but just the thought of being able to do that is astounding to my adhd brain)
So far power wash simulator is all I can find to do. It has to be slow with no storyline. No charetrers. would be cool if they just had games where you walk around and look at stuff. power wash is fun. Ok so lol ya simulator cleaning would work but not in real life cause that’s not fun.
Kk this may not have enough driving force for you but as someone who easily gets disctracted and then realize that I missed the last five minutes of the audiobook, I love playing the picross games while listening. It's a simple stress free puzzle game 🤌
