Hi Maisie I love the way you zoom into the project, no distracting music in the backgtound..and so patiently explaining everything step by step..you are a great teacher! Thank you.
@@Impastistfairygurl I know I'm not the original commenter but it took me 20 minutes to do one bootie on my first attempt and I'm a somewhat beginner crocheter.
Thank you Maudie so much for explaining, I was looking at other videos, but your are excellent, you explain how it should be done and I truly appreciate your patience. God Bless you and your family always and stay safe🙏🏽🤍
Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial! I just started crocheting recently but I was able to make a cute pair of boots so easily with your instructions!
Thank you so much for this! You are calm and clear and your camera shows really well. Wonderful well explained pattern. Thank you so much. Friends having babies but most of all, another grandson on the way!!! First time using chenille yarn 💖🧶!
I just made some for my new nephew born yesterday and they are soooooo cute! I love how slow you go and you make it so you can see everything just fine. Thanks so much!!!
Hi I'm quite new to crocheting and just had a go at your little hoodie. I must say your very easy to follow and I really enjoyed your tutorial, little booties next. Thanks again loved it.
Hello! I've never been able to properly crochet a baby bootie before until now. Thank you for this clear and easy tutorial. I love how you patiently explain each stitch and give a clear view of your work. My booties came out great! Now I'd like to try the hoodie in the set 😊
This is one of the best tutorial. I hate when other tutorials that I followed take short cut not counting the stitches it seams like they are in a hurry to finish letting u guess every rows. U are the BEST. Thank u so much!
I love your videos! You make it easy to follow and the lighting is perfect. I made the booties and the little bear cardigan. It was a big hit at my cousin's baby shower. Please do more videos :)
I have watched millions of baby booty videos, and yours is absolutely by far thee best. Your up close filming is a Godsend n talking slow n easy it was such a pleasure to watch n learn. I’m going to try this as my daughter is pregnant with her first n it’s a boy. I’ve tried others but I didn’t like how they came out. So thank you. ❤❤❤
I just learn how to crochet and i watch your videos, i did this little boots for a friend that is expecting and i cant wait to give them to her❤❤this is the best way because i was trying so hard with other tutorials. Thank you so much ❤️❤️
Wonderful! Congratulations Maria! I am very happy to have been able to help you and I am very grateful you have taken the time to let me know 😍 I wish you a wonderful week and I am sure they will love your present 😘
Amanda ❤thank you I love your style of crochet and you are so calm ; great pattern and easy to follow . I’m making some in a chunky weight 6 wool mix yarn now
Thank you, Christy! I'm so pleased to hear that you're enjoying my style of teaching! 🥰 That sounds lovely... I'm sure that they'll turn out great! Wishing you a lovely weekend and happy crocheting 💝
Thank you, so glad that you like the design! Bigger sizes will be coming soon and they'll be available in the free written pattern: maisieandruth.com/chunky-crochet-baby-booties-a-free-pattern/ 💝
I have made two sets of booties in the DN yarn from your other video, although when finished they are looking reasonable, I added a white top trim & little white pom-poms to both the pink & blue, I had trouble with the joining of the slip stitch, I kept losing my place. I have now watched your chunky video booties & thought your advice of putting the little stitch marker in a good idea & helped me a lot. I am a very novice crochet person!! 😊.. Thank you for your lovely video’s, again your patience’s & kind narrative is very helpful. 🙂
Hi Dawn, your finished booties with the extra additions sound adorable! 🤗 Yes, it's always a good idea to use stitch markers when you're a beginner. I'm glad that you enjoyed both tutorials. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and happy crocheting 💝
Vielen Dank für die tolle Anleitung 😍 die Schühchen sind einfach total schön & weich 🥰 obwohl ich kein Englisch kann konnte ich sie durch die Übersetzung super einfach nach häkeln 🙃
@@MaisieandRuth I’ve actually just finished them! I’ve not crocheted before so it took a bit of unpicking and restarting but your tutorial made it so easy and once I did the first boot the second one was a breeze! Thank you so much :)
Thank you, Dawn! Wow, you have been busy... so glad that you like the design! 🤗 An adult version is something I would like to do in the future - I get a lot of requests for this! 👍
@@MaisieandRuth Please do! Sidenote on adult and kid sizes… I had the idea to implement cordage in the bottom layer for padding and stiffness- like “crochet rope baskets”…. And you could easily sew an outer sole into such a base. Shoes!!! I’m a long time knitter but you’re making me all sorts of excited about crochet 😂
I can't wait to see if you make baby uggs. I can't get pattern correct with other you tubers. I hope for you to expand on quantity if videos. You're as awesome as it comes. Ty
MY GOODNESS!!! These are the cuttest little boots I ever made!!!!😭 I'm going to a wedding this week and the bride is pregnant, so I wanted to make something for the baby..I made these cute little boots, a bear beanie and a toy. They're the cuttest crochet trio EVER!😂🥹😭
Thank you so much for your comment 💝 I am very happy to know you liked the design and I am sure they will love your effort put on your present 😊 I hope you have a lot of fun in the wedding 😘

Just found your channel and instantly subscribed after viewing this video. You are an excellent instructor. Thank you for the video. I’ll be checking out your patterns. I always like to support channels that have video tutorials! If I can follow along, I’m more apt to purchase the pattern! 👧🏻
Do you have a pattern for chunkier wool? I'm making a blanket with Bernat yarn and would like to make matching booties. Thank you. I love this pattern and have successfully practiced with less chunky yarn and they were perfect
Love this pattern! My only question is when do you turn your work inside out? I was trying to keep track of where the tail of your project was but I lost track of it after a while.
Thank you for this tutorial! I made the adorable little hat and just finished my second bootie. They are so cute. I think my neighbor will love them for her new baby girl. I love to listen to you talk. Are you from Ireland? You sound like a friend of mine who is from there. ❤
Thank you for the pattern. Easy instructions to follow. I am curious have you ever tried making them with the Bernat blanket super bulky yarn? My coworkers love the baby ones I have made, they wish I could make some to fit them. 😀
Oh my goodness. Happy accident, I found you. BRILLIANT teaching. I followed along with you and haven't done most of these stitches/techniques before. You made it SO SO easy. TYFS. I subscribed and will share your channel. Hugs Kate in New York ❤
Thank you for your support, Kate - I really appreciate it! 💝 I'm pleased to know that you found this tutorial helpful and learned some new crochet techniques! I hope you keep the hobby up. Have a great week 😘
@MaisieandRuth I learned from my Mum when I was 6. Just picking it back up after 50 years to crotchet for my new granddaughter due in June. I'm loving rekindling, not stopping again. My BP is down I just discovered. Stress buster !!! ❣️
I have a question: whenever you connect the 2 stitches with a slip stitch, how many stitches does it count as? Is it then one stitch, or do I not count it all because it is a slip stitch?
Love the detailed tutorial, but I used bernat blanket yarn and my booties look like moon boots for the baby. I noticed in the tutorial you used regular yarn, did you do something different when making the ones with the chunkier yarn?
I am not a beginner. I made my first pair of baby booties from another one of your videos. Stitch markers were helpful when I lost count with distractions. I just became a grandma Feb 11th so I'm working more than blankets and hats now. Decided on some chenille and chose black for my grandson. Boy, did I rise to the challenge! It's so hard to see the stitches.
Congratulations on your new Grandbaby, Jamie! 💝 Glad you're enjoying my tutorials. Yes it's definitely a challenge working with the darker coloured yarns!
Hi, I'm not a beginner crocheter but I have tried making these with plush yarn several times, and they always look really gappy at the front where the dc2togs are, is this normal and if not how do I make it look better?? I've tried doing it tighter and looser and it makes no difference
Hi Amanda, I'm a totally new beginner, do you tutmrn the work at row #5? I'm confused, if you would explain I'd appreciate it! I wish my work looked as professional as yours does! Absolutely beautiful! Tysvm!
Hi Susan, well done for attempting these! 👏 No, you are working in rounds for these booties so you will not turn your work. If you select the settings icon in the corner of the video you can slow down the speed of the video in the 'playback speed' button. Hope this helps! 💝
in round three you are stitching from the inside of the shoe uo, with this heel towards you, in round four it is reversed, I am not sure how to do this and made the boot from the inside up and feel it effected the shape
Thanks for the video. I'm just a bit confused by the written pattern, I'm making the booties in a 0-3 months. On round 5, the instructions: "sc2tog, (hdc2tog) twice," which decrease is right?? Is it the sc2tog or hdc2tog??
You're very welcome! 🤗 You need to work each instruction that is between commas. So, you will work 1 sc2tog then you will work 1 hdc2tog twice, then work 1 sc2tog etc. Thanks for following along with the tutorial and I hope you're happy with the finished result! 💝
