This 15-minute Cilbir (Turkish eggs recipe) pairs creamy garlicky yogurt, spiced butter, poached eggs, and fresh dill for a meal that’s satisfying for breakfast or any meal of the day.
Eat it with bread or skip the bread and serve it low-carb-style with a spoon - only 6g net carbs per serving!

294 / 5.000 Add a teaspoon of vinegar to the water before adding the egg. Then stir the water so that a vortex forms in the middle. Release the egg as the water turns from left to right. As the egg rotates in the container, its white part will gather on top of the red and turn into a sphere. This method provides a more uniform egg shape.

@Sara Santiago I didn't have any yogurt on hand so I, too, used cottage cheese and it was so good. However, I am sure it is even better with the thick, tangy, smooth Greek yogurt, so I'll try that next time. I'd never had this dish - was so so good!

Well Bulgaria was under Ottoman empire like many countries especially in Balkan region. So no wonder. Turkish food like many other aspects (music for example) had huge influence on today's traditional cuisine in countries like Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia, Macedonia, Greece etc.

As an American, eggs with yogurt sounds like it doesn't mesh. What should I expect? Would this be something of an acquired taste for me, or is it pretty natural and just out of my wheelhouse and sounds weird because of what I'm used to? I saw comments below suggesting cottage cheese, and that sounds just as odd. To be fair, salt and pepper on cottage cheese sounded odd to me for a while, too (usually a sweet thing rather than savory as a kid), but once I tried it, it absolutely has its place. :) I enjoy trying new things and will give it a go either way.

@@AnEdibleMosaic The irony...Chobani Yogurt (the #1-selling strained yogurt brand in the US) founder, owner, CEO is a guy from Turkey. After realizing that he couldn't sell Turkish yogurt in USA, named it "Greek yogurt" for marketing purposes and got rich. Even the word "Choban" means shepherd in Turkish, and etymology of "Yogurt" is also Turkish (Oxford’s English dictionary).

Less garlic for that amount of yoghurt I think as it can easily overpower the dish Better still, roast or blanch the garlic first, takes it to another level
