Chris... Nice one. It was fun to see you thinking through the problems. I don't have "Signal" ... so I used another Helix for the upper sphere. Worked great and you had some control of how tangled the objects actually got. Thanks again. You Rock!

Hi Chris, I haven't watched the video till the end but the problem with spline entanglement can be also solved with hair instead of softbody dynamics. I used a hair object. of course the roots are tied to an object, but the nice thing is, you can select the single hair tips in tip mode with the hair selection tool and give them individual constraint tags . now you have two hairs connected on both sides to objects. by rotating the attached objects you end up with entangled hairs. You can see the spline interaction and all. I was always wondering why the hell cinema 4d offers hair to hair collision inside the hair object context but doesnt provide the thing for spline dynamics. And by the way please go on publishing tutorials! Your stuff has taken me so much further and made me explore corners of c4d I hadn't dared touching before. Even watching you thinking about solutions is awesome :)

must admit its not super robust. entanglement breaks up if too much stressed. the best results come with hair to hair/falloff "cubic" and with high values in strength. with hair you don't have separated objects either. So now I will watch the video till the end :)

The thumbnail still says "Werid Dynamic Stuff" almost two years later. It's upsetting that you only have "weird" dynamic stuff here :-D. You rock Chris.

i might be very late but i think that to solve the spinning issue, disabling use rail direction or banking in the sweep could help, i had some problems with sweeps rotating weirdly and turning these off solved it.

Jumping to cinema after a solid 10 year mograph career in the jolly Autodesk realm. Why? Greyscale Gorilla. Why? Because you all seem genuinely happy to do cool stuff.

Funny to see smoke getting out of Chris' braincells at the beginning. Chris, you're really awesome. Keep up doing this insane stuff.

@greyscalegorilla i lost the part there the tentacles break the exagon !!!!! can't find the part where you apply the break effect .

this could have been done a lot more easily with set splines that are animated to wiggle and then lofted and swept loops

Also having issues with sound for this one. The last two videos from this channel are the only ones I'm having a 'no sound' issue.
