One of the only guy who explains WHY you have to do a certain step. I struggled many times to have a result and I ended up to make everything automatically, without understanding really why I had to do that. Your tutorials are awesome because they're so well explained that, in the end, you acquire real knowledge that remains in your memory.

Thank you very much for the kind comment! I try to make every one of my tutorials able to follow for beginner users (which some times upsets the more advanced users) but I am very glad to hear this comment and that you walk away with a deeper understanding of C4D! :) Cheers!

For many of us, there would be NO Cinema4D without super guys like EJ. It would be impossible to learn from the Maxon manual, these guys are distilling years of knowledge down into minutes. I'm very grateful.

I have to say that gentleman, you have the best C4D tutorials for us. Your explanation of theory for every tool and setting is amazing. And the pace of the video is SWEET for different level learners. Hope you could have more tutorials like this one.

Replacing the existing material with a new one by Alt dragging onto that is a fantastic lifesaver, this way we can replace tens/hundreds of objects' materials with one drag!

Awesome. I've been using C4D since version 1 on The Amiga (on a fairly casual basis) - if there had been tutorials like this at the beginning I'm sure I would have learned so much more, so much quicker, and would have had more fun doing so.

Love it! I have a problem: When I render it out it goes sooo fast. The spheres are falling really quickly. Is it a setting or am I doing it wrong? Thanks for the awesome tutorials!
@eyedesyn
@eyedesyn 7 лет назад
if the spheres are falling too fast, you can turn the speed down on the Emitter and emit less particles. also check to make sure that the Birthrate Editor/Renderer number is the same.

Great tutorial - when I put my dynamics tag on the shapes that will hold the spheres, I'm only presented with a few collision items, I do not see a static mesh option, any suggestions? Many thanks in advance.

There's something I want to ask.... If I want to to make all balls fall down out from the shape after some time, what should I do? :) Nice tutorial BTW :)
@eyedesyn
@eyedesyn 6 лет назад
Hi there! You'd need to animate the object from being calculated, so you'd animate the object from being a collider to turning the dynamics to OFF

I tried to fit a bunch of rigid body spheres in a hollow collider cube and all of them went crazy and flying away. How would you do to prevent something like this?

Hi, I want 3 stamps on ground, 2 bells on them. then a cricket ball will be thrown to the stamps and the stamp and bells will be hit by the ball. When the ball hits the stamp the bell starts to fall and the stamp off the ground. How to animate that on cinema 4d?

can i use rigid to make for example a hat fall off of a characters head? i have been trying to make an animation like that this whole day but i cant seem to figure out a way to do that automatically. if not, then any suggestions on how i can do that automatically?

How cool - can it be done with motext also? hmm cannot seem to get it to fill the letters...
@eyedesyn
@eyedesyn 7 лет назад
Make sure your motext object has "Create Single Object" checked on. If you have a version of C4D older than R16, make sure you then first place the Motext object under a Connect Object, it will then recognize the Caps & Extude as one single object and should help prevent your issues!

Whats the difference between render instances and bake cache then ?
@eyedesyn
@eyedesyn 7 лет назад
Render Instances speeds up viewport when dealing with multiple objects. Bake Cache bakes the object movements, so one deals with objects stored in RAM, one deals with object physics movements in cache.

I'd try caching your dynamics...oh, also make sure your collision object (the diamond shape) is also hidden from render. It may just be hidden from viewport. Make sure that bottom stoplight is red.

Hi EJ, when i use static mesh at 14:44, it does not work, but when I turn the emiter into MOVING MESH it works, it's not so good but i couldn't find any other solution.
@eyedesyn
@eyedesyn 7 лет назад
Odd! You shouldn't need to use Moving Mesh as the collider objects aren't moving. When you said doesnt work do you mean spheres are going outside of the geometry or...?
@carloslandeo2920
@carloslandeo2920 7 лет назад
they moved out of the diamond and the cube, but I had to delete the rigid body from the emiter and the apply it again and now it's working right. greetings from Peru. it's been a great tutorial. thanks a lot.

Same for me... the particles do not fill the shape. I tried every option, started from scratch and played your tutorial over and over again. It feels like a skip might have been missed. Can you confirm the shape settings for the emitter's rigid body tag? Automatic? Static?
@cindyschroer9233
@cindyschroer9233 6 лет назад
+Natalie Z I think you already figured it out, but I had the same problem but it was because I accidentally added static mesh on the emitter rigid body tag (on the emitter rigid body tag you should have automatic). On the Tube and Cube collider body tag you should have static mesh.
