The funny thing is that Kate Mara didn't even need the wig. Most of the scenes she has it in are after the one year jump in time. That would be a reasonable amount of time for her character to get a haircut. It's not like her hairstyle played an essential role in the story lol
What if they said her hair color changed due to the introduction of the energy? Like she started out with brown hair or something but due to her powers it started to turn a white to show off its powers or something?
@@ian_b considering the way the movie takes itself wayyyy to seriously it still wouldn't save the final product with or without the wig, first of all why make the Fantastic four realistic? See any of their comics they are meant to be campy & corny they are meant to be enjoyed by everyone regardless of age why make them serious? Christopher Nolan when making Batman begins, did do research on Batman and found both his mission in life, his inner conflict & his villains and supporting charecters to be interesting and thought provoking and when he thought that something he did not knew about the charecter he brought someone who actually knows about the charecter more than him , The Dark knight while more realistic did take insperation from The Long Halloween comic story among other Batman story , he knew about the charecter and brought him to the big screen; this movie feels like they just saw the realistic aspect of The Dark knight and just made a movie based around it.
"Lots of directors have had clashes with producers and studio executive. It's why Edgar Wright left Ant-Man, for example. But there's a *Wright* way and a wrong way to handle that."
Super Cosmic Mutant Honey Candle Squid Still, it would be interesting to see it in visual form (I.e. see it how it played instead of simply being told about it).
This abomination of a film was exremely loosly based on the Ultimates comic book version of the Fantastic 4, that comic was interesting but extremely flawed as well (not as much as this film is though). In that comic "It's Clobbering Time" was something Ben Grimm's High School American Football Coach used to say to pump his team up for a game. That explanation works and it was expalained in one line, it still worked better than Fant4stic's explaination. Another RU-vidr "The Blockbuster Buster" made an interesting explaination of what would make a good Fantastic 4 movie, Merge Disney's and Pixar's "The Incredibles" with "Doctor Who" do it well and you will make a good movie. I agree it would make a good movie if done right.
I heard that Michael B. Jordan was in line to play the younger Dr. Dre in Straight Outta Compton. but when the schedule to that and Fant4stic overlapped, he had to choose one. let's just say after Fant4stic, he was going "Thank God for Creed".
I honestly wonder why he chose this vs Straight Outta Compton. Maybe it was the whole "franchise" premise that convinced him? MBJ came out the most unscathed by this movie in my opinion. The other actors I don't think were hurt much but Jordan was at least cast in Black Panther and had the positive backing of Creed. If his name is ever brought up now, F4 is rarely mentioned at all. When he came out on stage with the Black Panther cast at SDCC I actually forgot he was in F4.
10:54 - 11:09 - At least in Man of Steel that was part of the style - something which Fant4stic lacks among many other things. Man of Steel also had great action and ton of memorable scenes. I'll never forget that image of Superman sinking in skulls. Or his first flight. Whether you like the movie or not, you can't deny that Zack Snyder actually put effort into it and at the very least he has SOME idea of how comic book movies are made.
I find it interesting that both Chris Evans and Michael B. Jordan both didn't do so well as Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch but found success after joining the MCU with Evans playing Steve Rogers/Captain America and Jordan playing Erik Killmonger.
@@conradlorgar5508 This is true, but I read it was because he had schedule conflicts for some of them. The fact that they didn't even contact him is a bit insulting.
The best Fantastic Four version was on The Venture Brothers. Elastic Man is an egomaniac voiced by Stephen Colbert. The Human Torch bursts into flames screaming in pain. Invisible girl only makes her skin vanish so you can see her muscles. And The Thing is a mentally challenged rock creature.
My problem with Johnny Storm's casting is just how racist it is. So you have the black sibling be an irresponsible idiot while the white, adopted sibling is the smart one ... Who thought this was a smart idea?
When I heard they had made a character black, I instantly assumed it had to be Reed Richards. And I thought that was really clever. Usurp the racial stereotypes by making him the smart, clever, resourceful leader rather than the hothead. When someone told me it was Johnny, I was like "wait hang on, he has a sister, I've not heard anything about her race changing" And that's when I discovered that they'd basically gone "OK well obviously the irresponsible hot headed idiot is the only one who could be black, so we'll just make his sister adopted" It's so blatantly racist.
If/when they reboot and if/when they bring back Dr. Doom, just have him actually be Dr. Doom; Make him a genius scientist and sorcerer who creates a powerful suit of armor, and who's the smartest man on earth. Make him the lord of a country and make him nearly impossible to defeat.
That doesnt translate well to live action you basically just combine half the avengers and you get doom The intelligence, armour and ego of ironman The skills of cap The magic of dr strange And a sprinkle of black Panthers kingdom and you get doom That's alot for one character to have
@@elmermedina1713 that’s basically Doom, he’s second best at everything, making him incredibly strong, almost as intelligent as Reed, almost as good a sorcerer as Strange, an armour almost as good as Stark, physically strong enough to kill a lion barehanded. On any aspect there’s always someone better than him, but none of them are good at everything he does very well.
There is one thing he's best at, that being will power. He's the only human that can handle the Infinity Guantlet due to that, as well as letting him do things like remain in full control while infected with the zombie virus or resisting the Purple Man's mind control at its strongest. But yeah, the biggest problem with the Dooms we get in the last three movies is that he's always more akin to the Ultimates version, and the Ultimates universe, other than its Spidey, is pure garbage. They need to quit tying his creation to that the Fantastic 4, and give us the actual Doctor Doom. Really, they should have starting building toward Doom after the end of the Infinity Gauntlet bit, making Doomwar, the conflict between Wakanda and Latveria as the next big thing. But alas, Chadwick Boseman died and the MCU seems to be floundering around at the moment, without a clear direction.
Another fun fact: in Georgia, there's a town called Cumming. Quite frankly, I think the "it's clobberin' time!" thing alone would have killed the movie. Also, any chance of you reviewing that crappy Independence Day sequel? :P
I still don't exactly GET the complaining about the "Clobbin' Time" thing. Imo it was interesting, like I've stated once in a general comment,I felt it was Ben taking something that use to be a signal of pain and suffering and making it his own. It could've been expanded on more, yes, but it,by itself, isn't all that bad I think.
If the movie had a slightly more fun tone, the clobbering time line origin could have been something Ben said when he's trying to help with apples for a pie and decides to bash them comedically. At least my idea sounds less groan worthy than the abuse idea they went with.
I studied some lighting design in theater and I think the reason for making it dark in the laboratory is simply to set a mood of serious, dramatic tension. Still, it's a laboratory. You need bright lights. You can have bright lights and still set a dramatic, tense mood. Make the furniture and equipment white, have them dress in darker colors, add a tint to the camera; I'm not a film expert (studying theater, it's different), but I'm at least trying! More than most of the people who worked on this film, anyways. I never understood how people can screw lighting up so much in movies. Yes, lighting can be a major pain in the ass, but in a lot of cases, it can either make or break a film. For example, in Moulin Rouge, they shine a blue light on Satine during her introduction because blue light on pale skin gives a shimmering, glowing look; aka, The Sparkling Diamond. It was beautifully done, she was under a spotlight so all eyes were focused on her, and it was a terrific entrance for this character. But in Twilight, because all the vampires are pale and sparkle in the sunlight, they SOAK the movie in blue to achieve that shimmery look. Almost every scene has blue lighting or a blue filter, and it makes everyone who ISN'T pale and/or a vampire look like they're dying or freezing. I couldn't even finish Twilight because it gave me a headache! That, and my DVD literally spat it out halfway through.
as a graphic designer and film enthusiast(and amateur photographer) I can tell you that the movie uses the low key to have a "somber" and "realistic" theme to the movie...at least it attempts to have them...it's also obvious by how the plot makes the main character miserable or something like that (even if in real life they are just egoistic fu*ks)... this also mix the usual "blue-orange" color grading (pretty much the only color grading in use at hollywood...), giving everything "lotta" blue tones and few orange tones, that actually kinda feels out of place now and do not give the supposed "warm and likable" response... the fun part is that the low-light was all post-production of shots NOT really ment, probably, for a Low key take. I think that because every setting never use contrast between light and dark, so they ARE normally lit, but they just lowered the brightness of the scene in post... Light is the paintbrush of photography, and this movie fails hard at using it...
Ah, thank you for popping in to help me out! And for using better wording than I ever could XD Theater is so much different than film, but I do agree with your lovely quote of light being a paintbrush to photography. Still, they didn't need to make the entire mood of the film somber, dramatic, and realistic to begin with. It's the Fantastic Four! How does a multi-million production team screw up so badly? Then again, they did give the poor actress a cheap wig, so I guess I just answered my own question.
HanaBakemono lights can make or break a scene in photography, cinema and, I bevile, in your area of expertise: theater. about the production of the movie I can even make some hypothesis: as of now, thanks to some huge "seller", movies are really conceived as "products". not narrative. the problem is that not all directors are able to just do "wage-work"...and when you put in different ideology clashing between eachother you have the recipe of a shitty product. the "seriousness" attitude of this movie is just that. clashing of different ideology, production and market trends... it could be that the director wanted to make an "adult" story about comic books heroes (showing his childishness), because he is supposed to be "visionary" or something (like Snyder...). or it could be that they just decided that in a "creative sterile environment" after a inquiry showed that 58% of a random group of people answered in the Focus Group wanted a "serious movie"... as someone who studied advertisement, I can tell you that Focus Groups and Market Research on "active" consumers, easily produce alienated and distorted results... the example of the focus group on the question: "would you want a serious superhero movie or a fun superhero movie" the subject of the inquiry can very well answer completely differently that what he actually thinks. especially on a socially "embarrassing" question like that. answering, in a group of people, that he would like a fun superhero movie can make him be afraid of being perceived as "childish" or "not serious" person. of course producers ignore this, and just shove those statistic into production with a zealot faith in them. failing hard many times...like in Fant4stick. on the wig: I guess they just stopped caring and wanted something, possibly "more decent" than what they had, to release...
I kinda actually like how this movie's shot. I'm an amateur filmmaker myself, and I tend to shoot using a muted color palette on the cooler side of the spectrum, lot of high contrast and grays.
Sting SniperScope but the problem is not really the theme of the shot, is that they took normal sets and then forced a color palette on it, or at least this is what it seems. even if in my photography I tend to have preference on bright colors, I too appreciate darker and more contrasted shots. but this movie didn't really used the palette well...
The stack of N64s is presumably based on how people have made a working computer out of stacks of Xboxes. Never mind that Xboxes ARE tiny computers internally whilst the Nintendo 64 is decidedly not. I'm with CinemaSins - if this movie had climaxed with the Fantastic Four and a newly-superpowered test monkey throwing down, we would have forgiven its other problems.
I'm with Jeremy Johnson here. It's a specialized computer, but computer nonetheless. And if you have a shitload of those, making a cluster would make sense. Also, XBox is NOT just a "reskinned Windows comp" whatever that means. I did some development fot the XBox back in the day, and I remember it having some very specialized features.
Old video was old but I will comment anyway. The issue with Jordan's casting wasn't that he was black but two other issues: First, that he was hired without an audition. He and Teller would frequently got to parties and events with Trank. The director, in essences, hired his friends. Yes, I will admit that there was some hoopla about Johnny Storm being black, but that didn't really last that long especially when his roles like Chronicle and the fact that he was the lead in the (at the time) upcoming Creed movie were brought up. People then went to speculate about which Black actress would try out for Sue Storm. Then the second issue came into play, which was why were the siblings of different races. Before the announcement, people had been hyped at the idea of an interracial couple. Of a strong black superpowered female in a healthy relationship with a white superpowered man. I mean there was a lot - emphasis on lot - of people actually hyped for that. So when Mara was announced as Sue Storm, a lot of people were confused as to why make Johnny black. This issue everyone had was that if you were going to race-bend, they shouldn't have gone halfway. All the Storms should have been black. The sibling relationship between the two was seen as 'fake' because Johnny's adopted (again fans theory was he was the adopted one). Plus fans got even angrier when it came out that the studio was the one to pick Mara, so many saw the study as being racist for hiring a white girl because they didn't want to portray an interracial relationship on screen. Also, before I get blasted with hate comments, female black F4 fan and I remember trolling the boards looking for new info on this movie. It's pretty sad that people chock the issue to racist fans when the issue is that the studio execs were doing stupid crap instead.
that the way I was remembering it too. Not to mention at the time (and still happening) both in comic and in movie they were gender/race swapping just to please the dirt sheets constantly. Not to mention changing a character sexual preference just cause instead of creating likeable new character. This cause many to grind the teeth whenever it happen. Now saying that. There been good story with actors and characters that been swap but the constant readjusting just don't sit well with the community that enjoy those characters for Decades!. Now comics are down and people moving to manga cause of it and we will see if that also play out in film. With that being said and not having watch this version but having watch trank work in chronicle which I like and seeing some of the review which say the first half was actually good. I am willing to give trank the benefit of the doubt about his decision and I would had like to had a black storm if they were going to gender swap
@@kingblackheart919 oh I know there some racism involve but to blanket the entire complain on just that is stupid as it just mean your not paying attention to the actual point. It like saying the reason not watching the ghostbuster movie cause it an all women cast. It had nothing to do with all women. It has to do with the humor was terrible, nothing felt original or memorable as far humor went.
Marveryn i agree i was just drawing attention to the fact that some people’s go to is “that’s racist” straight out of the gate with no other options considered
Making Johnny Storm black but Kate Morris white does interfere with the craptastic story. They could have kept him black and made Kate Morris black or they could have kept Johnny Storm white. I am black and even I am tired of everyone overlooking the obvious: race-lifting without understanding the context (they're related as brother and sister.)
Super Cosmic Mutant Honey Candle Squid That would have been awesome to see. But, like MJ, they'd miss her "iconic look" more than they'd care about her actual performance, if the whole Zendaya debacle is any indication.
Daezy Gilder Someone said it in an earlier comment that people would try to make the idea of a Black Sue into racism by having her date a White dude because it would apparently be a woman going out with an 'oppressor'. So I can guess that if MJ were Black and Peter were still White, they'd scream the same thing. Whoops. Never mind the fact we never hear this type of outrage whenever it's a Black man going out with a White chick or a Black man going out with ANYONE else. But when its a Black chick, it's suddenly a 'problem', but it's problems that people don't seem to bat an eye at when they apply the same logic on something else. After all, everyone is asking for diversity but I guess there is still some 'wrong' diversity ie, stuff the actual racist who pretend they aren't racist don't want to see.
Super Cosmic Mutant Honey Candle Squid Oh, believe me - I know of that. There's a very vocal minority of black people (and white people) who view a black woman dating a white man as wrong, but not the other way around. I guess it's because a black man dating a white woman is him "showing freedom and disolving racial tension", or some BS. The whole thing screams of hyocrisy if you ask me. However, the biggest argument that I've heard against black women playing white characters is that "it erases their iconic look!" Hence, my comment. I'm well aware that it swings both ways.
Daezy Gilder In most cases like that, when the movie proves good and the actor shows they can carry the role (including working with the iconic look) it usually shuts a lot of people up. Things like Fury proved this (thought he is also Ultimate Fury but for general movie-going crowd he is the main Fury now and the only Fury they are familiar with). I've just noticed that when the movies are shit and the people behind the movie are shit they ALWAYS, ALWAYS jump behind the race of their actors as a shield to protect them from, often well deserved, call outs for their lack of tact and professionalism.
"And in England, "Trump" is another word for "fart." Puts a lot in perspective doesn't it?" Yeah, actually. Do the English think Trumpets sound like farts? ... Oh come on. You know one of them over there had that thought.
I can’t wait until the 2nd Look review, since the Polygon piece on Josh Trank sheds more light on what went wrong. For instance, the reason the third act seems so rushed is because Trank lost interest in completing the script once he got to the point where the four got their powers. Also, co-writer Jeremy Slater quit early on because Trank was locking him out of discussions with the studio. On a more positive note, Trank wanted BOTH Sue and Johnny to be black, but Fox rebuffed him.
It just seems like Fox is incapable of doing anything with the Fantastic Four, and I really wish they gave the rights back to Marvel, since the franchise has pretty much been killed off by Fox at this point.
@@tastyloaf5487 This was the last film greenlit by former Fox chairman Tom Rothman before he moved to Sony. So there is a connection, however tenuous. Rothman then greenlit The Emoji Movie there.
"It's really not all that uncommon for a name in one country to sound far sillier than it actually is in another country's native tongue." yeah that's why there's a guy out there called "Kok Chooi"
Every time I hear the phrase "New York City," I hear that sound bite from the old Pace commercials in my head. Hearing it aloud in this video was reassuring and confirming on an existential level.
Thank you for pointing out that the four actors aren't in the same shot together until the end (Sue is in the control booth in separate footage). If I were to do a Marvel FF film, it'd be them on a ship exploring when they come to a planet and get into some adventure dealing with locals. The Guardians could even cameo at one point even though that'd take away from the main characters who are yet to have their own movie without sucking. The Four were not just superheroes who go out and fight evil but were seekers of truth and knowledge and would often stumble onto man-made problems. Therefore, don't give them a direct villain but just a mysterious situation to explore and get caught up in.
Billy Barnett Well that's fine for someone to be behind it but I'm saying have them go to do some scientific exploration of some strange new thing and then it won't matter whether someone was behind it but just give them some adventure to go on that utilizes each of them as a team.
Billy Barnett That would make for a good story for them to go underground and be confronted with all sorts of weird encounters and perils assuming the alien planet plot wasn't used (at least in the first go anyway).
i had an idea for the fantastic four but it's somewhat of a wild idea. it takes place in modern day new york at a high school named "marvel high school", named after it's founder and principal, mr. stan lee marvel. reed is the co-president of marvel high's science club, along side his friend hank pym. he is best friends with marvel high's running back, ben grimm who's line "it's clobberin' time!" is what he said to get the team hyped up for a game. sue is a cheerleader and johnny is a gear head at the school automotive club. they get their powers while on a school trip. reed is monitoring a cosmic storm that will pass very close to earth. so close in fact that the rays get absorbed into storm cloud that the plane the students are travelling in. the plane gets struck by lightning and sue is nearly sucked out of the plane. reed saves her while johnny and ben hold on to them. then lightning strikes again, this time hitting sue, which passes through reed, johnny and ben. they survive but they get super powers. there is more to it but it's just a stupid idea i had.
The Honorable Reverend Addison Bortion I think that Victor Von Doom would probably be that quiet, smug and/or moody AND very nerdy exchange student (that recently-moved into the country and is smilingly attending the same school as Teenaged!Reed Richards and the rest of the apparent younger-versions of the fantastic four themselves,exactly-as follows here..apparently..) whom meets and grows to like Reed as a friend to him, only for Reed to find out he's one one of those rich A-hole kids who would use him for his nerdiness/smarts and/or intelligence for his own personal gain much, much later-leading to Reed and the rest of the fantastic four/gang of his trying to stop him from terrorizing (and taking over) the schoolyard/the city in the process to which they could/would succeed, yet let him run-off and try to get him next time,as it follows apparently..again-so,yeah.. Eh..?!
Yes, I'm glad to see that Michael B. Jordan is still getting respectable roles. This is one that I'm sure everybody has agreed to pretend never happened.
I really enjoy Cinematic Excrement Episodes I wish he could make them more frequently, also the part in the beginning of each video in which he gives information about the history that movie and whatnot is very helpful,
I caught the second half of this movie when i went to visit a friend. He's pretty cool, fairly nerdy but also pretty street in his own way. He said "Wow that was pretty good!" when it ended. I blinked slowly and replied... "Uhh.... right." In my friend's defense, he was extremely stoned at the time. But so was i...
Everyone and their grandma has reviewed that movie. I'd rather he'd bring more attention to how bad Lady in the Water is, instead. Especially since Doug Walker didn't bring up the arrogance M Night brought to that movie that caused him to burn bridges with Disney at the time.
Apparently there are die hard Shymalan fans. So much so that they insult anyone who says many of his movie are pieces of garbage. For example, some pretentious clown said that I and anyone who else liked Deadpool is stupid and that the Last Airbender is a work of artistic genius that the simple mined would never understand.
So....casting a Mexican-American actress as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, by having wear a blonde wig and blue-eyed contact lenses and nobody says anything. But casting an African-American actor as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch....*to quote Heath Ledger's Joker in "The Dark Knight"*.....*AND EVERYONE LOSES THEIR MINDS!!!!!*
Michael Clarke Duncan as The Kingpin in DareDevil was one of the better parts of that Meh movie. Before Vincent in the series... MCD was the Kingpin in my head.
Side note: Yes, Fucking is a town in Austria. They also need to replace their town-entrance sign every few weeks (at best), and have started using different unusual kinds of screws in an attempt to slow down the theft-rate.
Nathan B. Like the final film of the franchise. Like for example, first Mole Man, then Annihilus and Blastaar, and then Doctor Doom. Also they should be like the MCU films in tone and set in the 60's.
Reed's dad is played by Tim Heidecker. He uses his role as an in universe joke on his movie review show "On Cinema", where his perpetual guest co-host Gregg Turkington also had a role in Ant-Man which leads to some hilarious rivalry. One of the few truly fantastic things from this movie.
You are absolutely right, dude, on your suggestions for a future _Fantastic Four_ reboot. Definitely skip the origin story, Marvel/Sony has learned that with _Spider-Man: Homecoming_. And you are right, get rid of Doctor Doom, use another villain, maybe Mole Man, given that he was the first FF villain. Set Doom up Thanos-style, keep him in the background but keep his presence known and build him up as a major threat for the sequel(s).
It sucks to be Josh Trank. He pulled an M. Night Shyamalan, but instead of making a "Lady in the Water" and "The Happening," he jumped straight to his "Last Airbender."
Wajj it not really whitewashing if it's just one character, if that were true, then this movie is blackwashing Is that a thing? I'm gonna make it a thing.

The Santa Clause 3 13. Movie 43 (the worst film I've seen) 14. TMNT 3 15. Mars Needs Moms What do you think? Comment below if you agree with any Sean.
I've been waiting on this all month dude. Great job! I saw this on opening day (yeah) and had far more fun watching the audience's confusion and disbelief than the movie itself. Sad thing is, I would have totally watched the original script, even if it took two and a half hours. Or, they could have made a movie about Johnny and Doom sniping at each other for an hour, I like both actors, I'd totally be down for that.
ok, I wasn't upset that they made a member of the FF black. I just wondered why made JUST Johnny black and not Johnny AND Susan. Or just Reed. Or just Ben. or even just make everyone black, I wouldn't have minded that.
It was cold, calculated pandering, but god forbid you dare to point it out. If you do, and question what kind of narrative role changing a characters' skin color/gender serves, you are automatically lumped in with the crazies and dismissed on the spot as a racist/misogynist/etc.
jerrymouse 62 I said for a future episode, not the next one Plus he will need therapy after watching it and after the therapy after watching Shyamalan movies. It can be episode 100 for all I care
I predict that, after all is said and done, that Roger Corman's Fantastic Four will stand as the best ever version of this comic. History so far has borne this out; and I predict the trend will continue. For what he can do with a tenth of the usual Hollywood budget, Roger Corman is God. Sometimes.
ricard modo Here's the difference - there's history behind it. Hell, white actirs are being cast as black heros (like a man who died saving people during 9/11) even today. Is it so hard to cast a POC? No. Plus, there's hardly enough superheroes who are POC as it is. In contrast, there are literally *thousands* of whte ones. Casting a black guy as Nick Fury isn't going to hurt anyone. Casting a white guy as Black Panther, a superhero whose *entire identity revovles around his blackness*, is a slap in the face to the creator of the original comics and black people.
Daezy Gilder it's like making Dr. Strange not a doctor, or making Captain America British, or making Spider-Man into a six year old. There are somethings you don't change.
What pissed me off most about this movie was that there were some moments where they almost accidentally stumbled onto some interesting character development. The conversation between Reed and Ben after Reed is recaptured where he apologizes for leaving, and a scene between Johnny and Sue where they briefly debate whether they should be using their powers to work for the military planted seeds for some interesting ideas and could have made for something worth watching if it were in a better movie.
An actual comment I overheard walking out of Fan4stic. "Did you like that five minute fight? It was an hour and a half of backstory." Glad I wasn't the only one who found the film underwhelming when I saw it. Midnight's Edge's whole series about the behind the scenes drama was more interesting to watch.
I've been saying for AGES that the MCU needs to introduce Dr. Doom earlier than the Fantastic Four; he runs a freakin country, he needs to show up even as just a mention in the background.
The only good thing this movie got out of this is... Kate Mara and Jamie Bell got together, got married and have a child. Just like Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds in Green Lantern.
I think more people were irritated at Trank admitting that he hired Michael B Jordan without auditioning other actors because of Chronicle than they were irritated at the race lift (seriously, why not just make Sue black as well?).
A while back some students made a powerful computer using a tennis court sized layout of handheld calculator processors, so the assembly of Nintendo 64s wasn’t strange for me.
Fantastic Four is perfect for a cartoon. One of those computer animated ones like Toy Story. The powers can be shown at their best. You don’t have to build any realism into the world and they can emote to their heart’s content.
I thought that somewhere in the mess of the film was the potential for a really really good film. Sad that it ended up like this. Oh and personally I loved the origin of 'It's clobbering time'. Really fucking dark but I thought it made for a really interesting twist on the thing's character. Again one of those things that had a tonne of potential. Maybe the fantastic 4 don't work with the dark edge but on the other hand it can create a really interesting backing.
