Hey everyone! In this video, we will begin our SD-WAN series by diving into to a working deployment, show you some of the cool stuff we'll see. EVE-NG Topology File! drive.google.com/file/d/1GRlq...
Was thinking of joining the monthly membership. Would be cool to have help setting up and getting started with EVE-NG, especially for my ccnp encor stuff. I will check out what the membership covers.
Any platform that runs virtualization and honestly I would think you will need at a min of 64GB of ram to run smoothly. I run a Cisco C-220 with 128GB of ram and 2 x 12 core processors. It runs really well with those specs.
Hi Rob, I am taking a deep dive into SD WAN and using your topology to do it. The only change I have made is that I have configured my own mpls core. What I am wondering is how are you simulating the internet connection through the INET router and the cloud? Essentially that cannot be simulated as a home user will only have one public ip?
Very interesting. Could you make a video of how to install everything from scratch so its easy to understand ... Thank you ... thank you for sharing this videos very useful for all...
Hi Rob, first of all thank you for the great content. i would really appreciate if you could tell hardware you are using to run the EVE on also the requirements for deploying such topology. can you also share how you went about getting the images for each device?
Thank you for the video, I have a question, how is the config for the simulated Internet and MPLS, do you configure any routing protocols? so the vedges can reach the controllers and the rest of the vedges? Im trying to set up my lab but Im not sure how the configuration will be. Is the switch port facing to the internet on routing mode?
By becoming a member of his channel and gaining access to his members section, you can download this lab which has some pre-configured text files for things like INET and MPLS
@rob as I can see in the market that complete deployment of sdwan will take some years. What do u see the future of sdwan and how much sdwan expertise will. Help existing ccies or network engineers.
Hello Rob, can this lab work on the free version of esxi or should I go with the licensed version? my current server has 2 (6-core physical CPU's) 24v CPU's total. If I went for the licensed version do I have to buy 2 separate licenses for each physical CPU? How do I go about assigning the CPU's for this lab? I'm also considering doing big labs like the security lab you have. Thank you for this amazing content.
Rob Riker's Tech Channel So assigning 1 physical CPU for eve and that will equate to 12 vCPU’s being utilized in the free version of esxi ? I read on their website that a maximum of 8 vCPU’s is allowed for a VM. Would that be enough for a ~20 node labs like yours? Im sorry im asking too many questions but im trying to spend my money wisely, appreciate your help.
i'm new to networking. what is that topology application he is using? Eve? Is that a good program to use? Are there noob friendly versions? .. other than ms paint lol
Rob do you have the base configs for the everything but the SD-WAN infrastructure? I'd like to deploy this to learn SD-WAN. Not being lazy just don't want to recreate everything. Thanks!
The INET, MPLS and core switch. Everything else is a walk through. If you become a member, you get access to all of the base configs and the eve topology file.
I have 32 associated. 1 GB RAM for all non SD WAN devices, ASA has 2 GB. vEdges have 2 GB RAM, vManage has 8 GB RAM. The lab is CPU intensive. I'm Chewing up like 14-16 GHz on average. CPU sits at 80% all the time.
If we have two transport on vedg1 then vedge make 2 control connection with vsmart but make 1 connection with vmange My question is why vedge make 2 control connection with vsmart
@man hope not really if you have experience with it you will do fine. I feel like this exam was created by someone who was deploying sd wan because everything I saw in the exam I saw in our deployment like 90% of it
Can anyone please tell me that in this topology can i use IOSv router insted csr100v? in the lab topology which i have downloaded it contain csr1000v but here i believe Mr. Rob used IOSv router. By the way, thank you so much for the training
Sorry to bother you, but actually i want to go through all of your videos and want to do hands on practice in my lab. i am a bit confused that in some of videos i saw that the iNet and MPLS router are used csr1000v image, can i use the iNet and MPLS router with iosv image? Looking forward for your kind support.
Hello! Can anybody provide me initial configs for all IOS devices? I tired to do init config from video (outputs when Rob do "sh ip int br", "sh ip route", etc). I am a member of this channel and I have topology file, but there is no init config.
There is initial configs, text files. When you click on membership, under members only access to premium content, there is a link. Once clicked, there will be two folders, open SD-WAN, there will be the initial configs and the topology file. I am deleting the comments on the other videos.
I noticed that you don't have an icon indicating a current member. I checked my current member's list, your not on that list. that's why your getting that result. You'll have to become a member again to gain access to the premium content.
Hi Rob, I am using Cisco sandboxes and tried to remove the configuration from Vmanage using the command from your tutorial. vmanage# request software reset Are you sure you want to reset to factory defaults? [yes,NO] yes mount: /tmp/tmp.Zl9V8gsgDQ: WARNING: device write-protected, mounted read-only. Now I am not able to ssh into Vmanager , Could you please suggest what can be done.
Hello Sir, How are you, I like you channel and recomend for every one its a very best channel for SDWAN learning, Sir if you don't mind could you shere this topology with me. thank you very much. CCIE # 47481 HCIE # 9339
