Rise and shine its engine time again! lots of new cool updates on the table! here is the link to the Cison ohv V8 engine! Cison OHV V8: bit.ly/4bhzdaB Must-have V8 engine kits in Stirlingkit: bit.ly/3WitahF #stirlingkit #whyweengine
Two on one night Dennis! Mind boggling tech infront of you. I'm getting itch for mine to show up. Mines going to head to the milling machine before she goes together. Cannot wait to see you putting yours together. Epic videos tonight!
I got mine last week and I assembled it in about a day and a half. It ran great until it broke the push rod for #1 cylinder exhaust valve and sheared the pin for the exhaust cam lobe. I have since fixed it. I recommend checking the lifters in the lifter guide plates to make sure they don't stick or bind. That was my issue.
Bloody Awsome, Just seeing the chevy block makes the ticker pump abit faster. Your looking better Dennis, keep well. Look forward to seeing this one finished
This one’s definitely on my buy list. She looks the part and from what I’ve seen of other videos she sounds the part as well. I see they have come out with different colors now but I’m with you, orange is the way to go. I’ve been hanging out for the Flathead but they must be having some issues with it because they are taking their time to release it.
Yeah I was really impressed with the look of everything but the online directions might be a challenge to assemble it lol! the sound of the lumpy Idle gave me a chub and had to get one the flat head is close to going on the market I think they had an overwhelming presale buy on the OHV version but we hobbyists need that flathead version also because it's iconic! 👍
Heh heh, pretty nice Dennis! Too bad they didn't follow through with the 4 bolt mains. I wonder if it will wipe out the rear lobes on the cam like most SBC's?😄 A guy might have to do some porting work on those heads and intake to take advantage of the bigger valves! Looking forward to hearing this one run!👍👍👍
LOL!! yeah I was puzzled with the main caps Funny you mention the rear cam lobes ! LMAO! that was a fiasco. I am looking to see how much room in the runners to see if I can work them😎
This will be a build I'll be looking forward to! When you build the second one will you be installing a blower on it!? And what are you going to install it in?
Lol you can't build any engine that cheap when's the last time you've been in a machine shop. And you can't buy one with a warranty for that unless possibly you get a running one from a salvage yard and good luck with that everything has an LS engine now.
That engine is awesome, and smaller than I expected for its displacement which is a lot more than the Toyan. I've got some plans for one of these in the next year to shoehorn into a 1/8th street eliminator. I have the design and dimensions worked out, my only concern is the output shaft and clutch.
@@dennisdempseyradiooutofcontrol lol.. they kind of mixed and matched there. But it seems to be a very good engine. I can't wait until you upload the assembly videos.
It's a really nice kit. I noticed the heads have oil gallies but no way to oil them. I guess they are oiled by splashing? Also the instructions are not clear on where to place the dip tubes for the oil filter and oil pick up inside the oil pan. I had to figure that one out myself. It's my first miniature v8 so it could be just me.
That is a badass sick motor I like how it's more traditional to the real V8 versus some of the other one with the twin cam they are cool. But while this is a beautiful setup for the price. Thanks for the killer content.
@@Stirlingkit that would be great! Then your engines can actually be used in an RC vehicle. LESU makes several 2 and 3 speed transmissions, but they are 1/14 scale. Extremely strong with all metal gears and housings and very detailed also. Made to fit Tamiya Semis. A multi gear trans would be amazing! I'm sure you guys will show up with something very cool. I'm imagining a typical GM style transmission housing, or maybe something more custom even, bolting on to that V8. If this comes to life, I'm seriously considering building a scale chassis for your customers to consider buying. I absolutely LOVE all the mini motors you guys have built. I'm subscribed to your YT and Instagram. Great stuff!
Here in AZ at falcon field they had a museum and they had a big wall display of mi iture engines supercharged ones all the way to radial aircraft they were all done by a single man but they closed that down and have know idea were they went. Or whom has them it was vary cool .I do know you could but kits but you had to put aloy more work into them plus need to have mill machines and lathes. To finish them vary cool though
Stirling kit told me in stock ready to ship DHL 3 day. Its been a week and a half since I paid for mine and now they are saying 2 more weeks because they don’t have any gas cans?!? Little upset to see no alternator is included since it was pictured in most releases and I asked them to verify. Lets see if this thing seizes up when you assemble like the toyan. 😂
@@dennisdempseyradiooutofcontrol Yea, I see that now. Sucks it's a different kit they sold months ago. I already have a stack of those. Checked with them yesterday. They said the engine would ship today. Didnt ship again. This is why so many hobbyists in this community refuse to buy these engines.
Beautiful kit great design easy and fun to build except my engine are missing the valve screws to attach to the engine and no spark plugs and the fuels section with the carb wont fit I tried every thing .. disappointed
I know others have commented it but I would dig it if you built a real sbc. Be cool to see you do a 1:1 build imo. Still love your content. Gives me dad vibes which I never had
Have you figured out the forced oiling for the rockers? Mine is currently on the way and i cant find much info on it. Also what is the ring gap on these supposed to be?
Hi Dennis, I have been putting mine together and am wondering what the torque specs are? The downloadable instruction might say but, they are in Chinese. I torqued the mains at 1.2Nm without a problem. I tried to torque the rods at .8 Nm and snapped the head of the fastener off. This is my first mini engine build so I need to find torque specs.
I bought mine on ebay but I had to change the out rigger bearing housings but they do sell the all alloy housings there also. I custom built the Aussie headers to fit one of my builds, it is 3/8 fuel pipe with a couple of 1/16 pieces of flat settl I bought from home depot.
Just got mine as well! Truly impressive. Was missing a connecting rod in the pack…… (only had 7) so gotta wait for that. Super excited to see more content on these little engines. Can’t wait to see what you do with this thing man.
