I've always been fascinated with flying but as a person with a disability I never thought I would be able to do it, as a pilot. But watching your videos inspired me to Google it and to my amazement there are actually flying clubs for people with disabilities of all shapes and sizes. So I've set the ball rolling and see where it takes me. What strikes me about your videos is the level of professionalism displayed and I'm going to take that forward with my flying. Safety first!

Guido, I started flying in 1977, got my private. I have not flown much in the last 15 years, but suddenly the itch has come back. I am now in my fifties. I recently went up last February in a Cessna 172, and amazed at how much I remembered. This only put more fuel on the fire. Your videos help to keep that flame burning. I need more! Thank you.

Matthew, we can "spilt" the audio panel - the PF talks and listens to radio no 2 (ATC) and the PM listens and talks to the radio no 1 (FBO). We use number 2 as the ATC radio because it is on the right side of the panel. The PM, who normally operates the radio, does not have to reach over to the no radio every time there is a frequency change. Nice you got a controller who asked your parking position. I took our club Cessna down to IAD last year and they didn't ask (i didn't think to volunteer). They also gave us 19L. Upon landing, they told us to taxi to Signature, and seemed surprised when we said we were going to Landmark! At least we got a nice tour of the airport...

I cannot remember exactly. We have a "stabilized approach" concept. In IMC we want to be "stable" at 1,000ft AGL in VMC at 500ft AGL. Stable means: Gear down, fully configure for landing, Speed Vref +20 max, vertical speed ledd than 1,000fpm. Thanks for watching my videos! Happy Landings, Guido

We use an iPad for enrourte and terminal navigation. FAA approved. Some people complain that the iPad is too big and recommend the iPad mini. You have to find out. We use Jepp FD, but Foreflight is also a very good (if not better) software. Thanks for watching my videos and happy landings, Guido

At 18:31 I touch the electric trim with my left thumb. This disengages the autopilot and an amber (yellow) light illuminates on the op left corner of the instrument panel. The Citation V is a pretty stable aircraft and with some experience you can hand fly this aircraft very easy by hand. Thanks for watching my videos and happy landings., Guido

No silly questions in aviation! The "coffee bar" refers to an electric heat system for a coffee and a hot water pot. We have no coffee machine on board, but can keep fresh coffee hot. Happy Landings, Guido

I just found your videos a couple of days ago and I love them! Makes me feel like I'm right in the jumpseat. Is there any chance you can show us a startup in the Citation from cold and dark?

Hi Chris, in video 07:00. Aircraft below FL180 use local altimeter setting. Aircraft in the flight levels use standard 29.92. If the altimeter setting is 29.92, no problem. If the altimeter setting is lower than that (in our case 29.76), the highest possible VFR altitude 17,500ft and the lowest possible flight level would be too close together. It is 100ft for 1/10 of an inch, so 29.92 minus 29.76 is 0.16 inches or 160ft. Instead of 500ft vertical spacing there would be only 340ft spacing.

Francisco, your FI is right for the small piton engine aircraft. The throttles can creep back after take off and you can be in trouble. With the jets, the system is different. After a certain speed during take off - we call it V1 decision speed - you are too fast to come to a stop in case of an engine failure. The jet is powerful enough to accelerate on one engine to the rotation speed and take off. This can take a couple of seconds. To overcome the natural temptation of a pilot...
