I've been waiting for this all day, loving this series

The small 1x1 and 2x2 buildings will lower the land value surrounding them meaning that people nearby will not upgrade as much as they could be if you only have 3x3 and 4x4 buildings. Also, instead of bothering with an industrial zone, you should switch over to 100% offices because offices earn a lot more money, although a bit slower population increase, and also have almost no traffic compared to the industrial zones. The industry is what causes most traffic issues as all the trucks go around the city. The offices also do not cause any pollution so once you are later on in game, like you are now, offices seem to be the way to go. Another great video though! I've been enjoying this series a lot since it started! :) Keep up the good work.

The way the dam works is that it first collects some water behind it in its reservoir and the water level rises. When there is enough water, the dam starts producing electricity. So it takes some time. Nice video though!

Hey Keralis! the reason your dam didn't work is because it needs some time to build up water behind it... sometimes this will cause temporary flooding. but as soon as it builds up enough water it will begin to function normally and will stop fluctuating. once it begins to function and the flow starts the flooding will stop! :)

Small buildings such as the 1x1 squared ones along the shore to the south lower the land value. They prevent the buildings around it to upgrade or just takes a lot more time.

I'm probably not the only one who thinks this, but I feel that cities skylines has a very unrealistic thing for the amount of people in a city. It seems to me that a city as large as waterpoo should have ATLEAST 300000 people.

Keralis The reason people are dying in waves is because the game has life/death "cycles" basically. Your usual citizen tends to live 5-6 years, so every increment of 5 years, you get a swarm of deaths in your starting area (because most people moved in there around the same time). It's a weird quirk.

Hey Keralis, buy the south-west tile! Then you can make a loop around the lake and then you can do some pretty stuff with the alcatraz island. Nice city btw!

THE parks filled a bit of the the commercial. They fixed it with the update 1.0.6B they also brougt one way roads upgrades in the game. You can make the by just upgrading and right click to chanes direction

Ive been following this game since hearing about it. This game seems to have all the good features of Cities XL and SC2013 eg. large expansive cities and good public transport options (buses) of CXL and the elegant UI, stylised (UK) visuals and great gameplay of SC2013 merged into a tidy package that is Cities Skylines and more. I so want to upgrade my pc to play this.

Dear Keralis, You build the dam on the right place but a little too high. When i placed the dam the water floats over the dam. Then connect as fast as possible a road because the building need workers. Without workers it wont opperate. My first dam had a power output of 60MW. But my second wich i placed on a better flowing river has an output of 1100MW!!! So go for the dam and no nucleair power. Congrats with your house.

Congrats on buying the new house! If you put a water pump in flooded areas, it will suck out the remaining water. Expand southwest too!

Transportation advice: Trains are great to transport an huge amount of people from point a to point B. Now trainstations have also an handy purpose. For example: if you let all buslines terminate at station A people will use the bus to get to train and to get to B. In B you also need buslines from the station and so through the neighborhood.

I hope in a later update, flowing water makes splashing effects when flooding areas. Everything just sinks into the water without a splash. Also, cars and other objects should float and be washed away.

How to build a good dam: Find a place where the river isn't very very tight (where you placed it lol) but not like a lake size, a place with high "cliff" edges to prevent flooding, a place where behind the dam there isn't any important buildings. Then above all go on the view to look at the water, look at the arrows, if the arrows are thick, that's good this means high speeds of water! The reason why your dam didn't work was because the that the water wasn't fast/strong enough, so the tide turned, and started flood behind. A dam can produce like 600 KW (what ever the unit is...) So your place wasn't the most powerful. Eventually the water physics means that the water will find the quickest route to get past the Dam, this may mean going round it:BAD. Or using it:GOOD. Your map isn't the best really, but going south west is the best place for the dam. And remember, getting rid of the dam can be a huge disaster, so be very careful.... Your welcome!

KERALISSSSS DAM needs Road conections and electricity conections. If the DAM has those things is suposed to don't flood the suburbs

Your dam didn't work because the water flow wasn't strong enough to maintain the rotation of the wheel that generates the power, so u have basically created a lake there. :) Try it at a wider place, then it will work :)

Expand north to the lake side. I think a rich, posh area tucked away with a nice view across the lake would look amazing!

I don't know if it has or doesn't have any effect in the game, but even if it doesn't, as an opera-goer, thanks for adding the parking spaces. :P

looking at the way the terrain is shaped, i think that the industry won't drain any more...just build a bridge over the floody bits
