update: MY game stopped working. It's slo motion now at 900k population. I am sad. CS2 is broken. STAY on cs1 guys. CS2 only works until you have high population. I am surprised this happened. SO bad.
@@GrahtlesI’m at 200k people and I don’t get demand for anything apart from commercial and industrial. Very rarely demand for anything else. Also, more than half my population is poorly or uneducated despite me having colleges and universities.
You're delusional if you think ANY city builder, or any game for that matter could handle 900k population, or an equivalent for a non city builder. That's like giving a skinny guy a 2000lb deadlift. It just doesn't make sense. At that kind of population. You SHOULD be expecting slo motion gameplay, because there is an astronomical amount of calculations going on in the background. It would be the same case for cities skylines 1. If you really expect cities skylines 2 to perform buttery smooth on a 900k city, you are setting your expectations way to high. I'm frankly shocked from reading your comment. As for @SomeGuyWhoPlaysGames333's comment. IT was the same case in cities skylines 1. Around 100k population, demand would plateau , because the game was getting to around it's limits. I'd imagine it's the same case for CS2 unless you are using mods or something. I'm not denying CS2 doesn't have any problems. Because it has a lot of problems. It just some people set their expectations way to high with a game, whilst their expectations more realistically line up with games and technology 20-30 years in the future.
To be fair, Cities Skylines is ENTIRELY playable with the base game... even without mods... it's MASSIVELY improved with mods... and the DLCs DO add to it- but it DOES stand alone on it's own.
When i clicked the video I expected a in depth review and comparison but this compromised video I was greeted with was even better than I expected. Great research and very objective review 👍
@@Grahtles I can tell 🥰 If possible, id still like a in depth review of both games without DLCs to see what exactly has been changed. Only if theres time 😊
You have a great voice for this. Have you tried Manor Lords? It's a very peaceful city builder and is easy to get immersed in and lose hours to if you play without the raids / worrying about fighting etc.
CS2 is a trash game right now. Doesn't worth the money. You MUST got some mods to actually have fun, graphics seems weird sometimes even if it was supposed to be better, and game will consume every bit of processing power of your PC as the city grows. CS1 remastered is still the better option. Even if you play it with no mods you can have some fun.
In today's world, I knew it would be like this. I gave it 6 months from release before I buy it. ( I do that with almost all games today) but more so for this one. CS1 Still has ENDLESS beauty. I'm around $220 on my expansions for 1 amd don't plan on stopping.
@Grahtles I used to use AutoCAD to draft urban subdivisions and rural areas using the township survey system 6 mile by 6 mile grid so seeing this game is now capable of doing that to scale is truly a dream come true for me, I need to make a return to this game, seems the mods have only gotten better and better
I feel the same way... City Skyline 1 is my cup of tea...looking forward to when you say City skyline 2 is a must-have...now im gonna dust of City skyline and build again 😊 ty for your honesty, your a women of good moral quality.
Well done on the review and thank you for your feedback as well. As far as the problems that exist in CS2 which I don't believe is colossus order fault but is in fact paradox interactive's fault since they are the publishers and are most likely the culprits who push this ridiculous timeframe that colossus order had to work under to build the game which is sadly so short that they didn't have proper time to clean up the game as well as the bucket. Colossus orders company is comprised of game developers. Paradox interactive is comprised of huge money investors with zero knowledge on game development and are only interested in making big money fast and they only got lucky on the original CS game at the time when it was released. To make matters even worse CS2 may die because they are focusing more energy on completing the console Version which is a huge mistake since most gamers don't realize that any game developer that signs a contract with the console manufacturers like Sony and Xbox they literally lose all control of their game development. Because the console manufactures set up the contracts in such a way that all game developers no longer have any control over the development of their game. In essence console manufactures are by far the worst publishers to ever exist and this is one of the many reasons why many consoles literally do not have many games for them anymore because these manufacturers literally destroyed minigame developers through their contracts. If you don't believe me go do your own research and you're going to find out that I'm right.
Yes I definitely believe this is all paradox doing pushing them to release games with a deadline that aren’t ready! I will also look into the console contacts that’s so interesting and discouraging. Thanks for the information it’s really appreciated!
There are a lot of differences. The second one has different game play like more economic heavy and stuff the biggest difference is the second one also has had a lot of problems running when the population gets high. My suggestion would be to look on steam at the comments to get a much better understanding of the issues with the second game. Also the first game has been out a while and had so many DLC’s for hours and hours of fun. I really hope this helps.
@@Grahtles I wouldn't say I had a great experience with cs2, but when comparing both games when both released cs2 is like cs1 with mods upon release. Not only that but from the jump maps were way larger, the game was able to run way more cims, and graphics were wildly better. Couple that with its a simulation game and not a fps game to me it just makes sense that we won't have an avg 60fps regardless of equipment. Yea cs2 is a way better base game than cs1, cs1 just had 8 years to get better same way cs2 will have to get better than 3.
Not sure why I never found your channel before, but glad I found you now. Great review, and I agree completely. I have high hopes for CS:2 but it needs a lot of love before I am ready to commit or even want to watch content on RU-vid for it. I am so happy you're going to continue to put out content for the first game.
Thank you so much and yes I took a long hard look at whether to get this game and it just doesn’t make sense right now! I really love cities skylines 1 and enjoy it so much! Thanks again 😀
I bought Cities Skylines 1 in September. The game is so fun especially with mods that make it fundamentally better. I’ll hold my money for Cities Skylines 2 until a while.
@@Grahtles oops sorry for the late answer :( i have no dlc packs but im still having a blast months after i bought it. the game is so good! maybe ill try cs2 with gamepass one day but im still enjoying cs1 for now.
Fortunately Cities Skylines 2 is availabe on Game Pass. Although the performance (FPS) is not good enough and I need to set with lower graphic quality, but still playable on ROG Ally and I love it.
Hey guys, I hope it's the right place to ask. So I'm contemplating between buying CS1 or CS2. I am a casual builder with some experience in SimCity, but I've wanted to try something new for years now. My idea was to buy CS1, but as the years went by, CS2 was released (I don't have much free time) and I see all the criticism surrounding it. So as a kind of beginner, who won't spend 10 hours daily on the game, but rather just play it casually sometimes, which game would you recommend?
"We don't get a complete game anymore" And that's why I don't buy them either. Because I add up the cost of all the DLC before buying anything.... and then decide I'd rather not spend several hundred dollars on a single game. Seriously. One or two expansions I can tolerate, albeit rarely ever buy, but these games with like 50? I don't even want to touch. I just bought simcity4 instead. Might not be the best anymore, but it's enough to scratch my citybuilding itch, and it only cost me a dollar.
I just started playing CS 1 early last year. So naturally when they announced CS 2, I was ready to hand over my money, until I started seeing all the issues people were having. I just couldn’t justify the price point and the state of the game. So I tried CS 2 on game pass yesterday. It’s a beautiful game, and I didn’t experience any performance issues, but there’s something so lack luster about the game that after about an hour of messing around with it, I turned off and loaded CS 1.
I remember being obsessed with Roller Coaster Tycoon when I was a kid. Is Cities similar to that? I really wish there was a Roller Coaster Tycoon game on consoles.
I just prepared a huge amount of money to get a new pc tomorrow mainly for this game... But, after your review, maybe I'll hold on to it a bit longer. Thanks! Great review 👍
@@Grahtles I can’t in good conscience recommend that game outside of game pass and even playing on game pass there’s a high probability for disappointment. I really feel for the people who paid full price for CS 2 especially being in the state that it’s in.
Lol oh me too I would have to upgrade my computer to the max which I cannot afford either but I also think that cities skylines 2 just isn’t a great game yet so we shall see! Thanks for commenting
Thanks for the review. I just took advantage of the sales going on at the moment and finished buying the DLCs. I want to get the creator packs as well. I came to C:S late but I love the game. I have no desire to change to 2 and this probably won't happen until 2 things happen. 1 I think that I'm finished with 1, this could take awhile and 2 - when I can upgrade my computer and this will be ages.
Awe thanks so much for you comment. I agree thing have to majorly change with cs2 even the big creators are going to run out of things to do! I love the first game and will stick with it!
@@Grahtles let's hope that doesn't happen, cs1 is amazing, but cs2 has alot of potential, they just need to invest into optimization, compatibility and focus on giving a finished game, in the long run cs2 can potentially make a comeback.
you go to steam workshop then add the mods you want in the start of your game you should see custom content or something like that make sure there activated.
Thanks for this video! I'm sticking with CS1, I've only logged about 20 hours and there's still so much of it that I'm yet to explore! Just a suggestion, it would have been nice if you got into specifics about what was off about CS2, I'm still unclear. Even when showing reviews and articles, it would have helped if your voiceover summarised what they said.
I'm a console player of cs1. I was bored and saw cs1 on sale in march so i figured why not. Cs1 has taken over my life!! I got every dlc. I really hope they make a dlc to unlock all 25 squares
@@Grahtles No, I find the video very infomartive. But as a creator you shouldn't feel so attacked by one simple comment about your video. Instead you should use it as feedback and determinate if you do something with it. Now you come across as insecure and not listening to feedback is bad for your channel. Just a tip since you're still a small creator.
@@okabc-ho9xw No not insecure at all. If your going to give feedback in a constructive way then you don't just put annoying music. You can add more then that. To me you just came off as a troll. If you want to actually help you could have said something like "very informative video but, the music isn't really for me" but you instead just wrote annoying music. As far as the music I use it often and have had a lot of positive things said about it. So thank you for your input.
Cities: Skylines Cities: Skylines 2 MAX 30 FPS :❌ ✔ Expansive DLC ✔ ❌ Horrific traffic AI ✔ ❌ Expansive Mods ✔ ❌ CS:1 Is better in price, community, and some more, but CS:2 is better in graphics, Traffic, And more. The specs i have and the average performance i get in both games (Average city) RTX 4060 TI Intel I5 12400F 32 GB DDR4 1 TB NVME SSD 1920x1080 165 HZ Max graphics : Cities: Skylines Cities: Skylines 2 About 110 FPS Around 30 FPS but possibly around 60 on lower graphics.
@@Grahtles for the record, != means "does not equal" so my comment above means "old does not equal bad" I still play Cities Skylines 1 very happily to this day.
