I've owned and worn this Citizen for many years and it absolutely IS an SKX killer. The Citizen is better looking, better made, higher quality and keeps better time. The SKX has the popularity but the Citizen has everything else.
@@Dilshan_Kasun No scratches. I never understood the fight between mineral and sapphire crystal. Yes, sapphire is more scratch resistant but it takes a lot to scratch a mineral crystal too. I have 22yr old Citizen diver with mineral crystal and it has no scratches. Plus, mineral is what you want on a dive watch, not sapphire. Why? Sapphire shatters, mineral will only crack. If damage happens while diving you would rather have your crystal crack. If it shatters the watch is instantly fills with water. A crack will still hold water resistance. The NY0040 is an absolutely great watch and it keeps fantastic time. Get the black one. Nothing is cooler than black.

I own 2 Citizen Eco-drive pilot watches already and the build quality by Citizen is fantastic. Much nicer than any comparable Seiko I used to have.
Same here. Ordered the black on SS bracelet, for about the same money. It seems like a beautiful watch, most reviews say it looks even better in person. Looking forward to getting it.
Keep coming back to your video man...That Citizen with the black strap looks so sharp on your wrist. Perfectly sized watch. I just ordered one with the metal bracelet, and also ordered vintage brown strap. Will be ordering this black one very soon. Hope you didn't flip it. It's a gorgeous watch that suits you even better than the Seiko ;)

@@ChrisMarshall1978007 Nice watches, but still prefer the orgiinal ny0040. Was debating between the black on SS or the blue with blue strap. Decided on the black as more versatile and really like that deep inky black
This watch is great i have the same watch only newer and its says 8203 on the dial but 8204 on the case back and its the better movement that hacks. Also the loom is better, same as the seiko.
Great review!! I love my Promaster! I did have to ditch the blue rubber strap it came on, made it look a little like a toy watch. I like to run the Italian days of the week on mine.
Do anyone know what is different between NY0040-09E and NY0040-09EE? because I do not know what to pick. Its case is different? Quality different? Something?

Speaking of non hacking movements, can someone comment on whether back hacking this model or in my case the SKX is hard on the mechanism. By using this method allows for an accurate time set.
