Cleaning the 12v electrical feeds from the power supply fuses at the battery codes U1208 CAN COMMUNICATION WITH ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU U1109 COMMUNICATION WITH GEARBOX ECU U1313 NO COMMUNICATION WITH ABS ESP B1623 FAULT IN IGNITION RELAY
Great video. Had a problem with my Automatic Gearbox not selecting any gear on my Grand Picasso, and basically broke down. AA came out. And found grease had been applied to terminals that carry the signal for selecting. Probably by a trainee mechanic at the garage I use. Seeing your video I presume it was those terminals you worked on. Will be going back to my garage soon. They are a good garage usually. Thanks for video.
Thanks for this video! Mine Citroen is the exact same! Gonna see how bad my connections are. I only replaced the battery thinking that it was the battery
Brilliant tip. I've recently seen an intermittent U1109 code myself, and given that there's no failures or faults found in the gearbox ECU, I thought it might just be something not getting a good connection somewhere. I've had various other U codes (U1218, U1318) from time to time and they often go away for weeks or months on end. I wonder if it might all be down to this.
Hi really useful video, thanks. is there a way of bridging the feed to bypass the relays to test if the unit is faulty, I've seen a video of this on a different model of Bpga so just wondered if its possible?. thanks Alan
Good shout this. I'm getting an electrical circuit fault on my Diesel BlueHDI 1.6 that started as an intermittent issue, now it's become permanent and is also draining the battery. If i dont drive the car for 2-3 days its dead. Already had a new battery fitted, still same issue. Spent lots of time looking up the problem online and a lot of it points to the management unit that you stripped and cleaned. Its due in the garage for service and other repair work but i might take a look at this beforehand. Thanks for the video.
I've been waiting all this time to get it in at a Citroen Dealer (wait times round my area are a joke). I've been told by a separate garage that it will be the Battery Management Unit. So being told that and my own research makes me think it is 99.9% the cause. Citroen also said the same when I told them about the fault and the symptoms. I did what Jimmy did in this video for the plugs and no change. The unit has a relay in the middle which as far as I know isn't replaceable. It's going in this Friday for this to be sorted along with some other issues, so once I hear back and it's resolved, I'll let you know.
@@AlexS-cp9no Hey, so was this unit causing the fault (as suspected). Issue is now clear. No more beeping at start and battery drain 😃 Total including diag, parts and labour £666.71. mine was done with Stellantis but it will be roughly same price with other dealers. Hope you get it sorted. Still an eye watering amount for essentially a fuse box 😭
Hi mate how did you get the battery protection unit to come apart, i cant seem to open mine to clean the connectors, looks exactly like the one in your video
Hi I have a problem with my citroen c4 picasso 2015 the battery is draining overnight could this be the problem or the actual battery management protection unit. Thanks
Hi im having tha same problem on my c4 picasso (2012 plate) new battery still no joy, i replaced the handbrake switch as this was one of the faults displaying...still no joy. The warning lights only seem to come on when im at 70mph on the motorway. Any ideas would he a great help 👍
How many years has Jimmy had the battery on this car? Do you reset the settings when you change the battery? what do you know about this parameter BsBatType????
How do you get the plastic cover off. I've taken the two bottom retaining bolts off so the unit can move freely, but I can seem to separate the unit so the wires become exposed. Thanks in advance.
@@thetakenalpha3301 ye, there are two torx screws on the back and one one underneath on the front. It was this one I was having difficulty with. It was hard to see. Once you remove all three and a couple of wires, there are 4 plastic clips on each corner than you separate.
Topdon is also a good alternative diagnostics that works for me. Getting the ad800bt is lifetime subscription and does things like resetting the gearbox etc.
