Excellent Video !! 100 times better than the Eastern European 'mechanic' I watched earlier who seemed to be removing parts just for comedic effect !! I have subscribed, thanks for the lessons
Thanks a lot, i will do it like you showed. God i hate all that plastic shit in the engine department. Nobody on earth asked the car producers ever to cover everything so you basically have to dig in your way through layers and layers of plastic parts, to get to the part of the car you want to replace.
All solutions prefect. Only 1 step -you dont need remove computer box cover. And before all. Unplug power + clips because cables all holding box in front.
ok thanks tolly .im just going to give it a go lol . im not paying the dealer 200 quid ive did harder jobs than this before lol . im gonna have a shot at doing it myself and hope for the best lol .thanks for the reply .
Would the battery benefit from a slave power to change it or does it make no difference? I have a light on the dash plus service light and it happens to be as the battery failed.. 🤔
Thanks so much for this - my battery's died and so I need to replace on a 2013 1.6 vti DStyle Plus but can't find any info in handbook whether it's def StopStart or not, and no mention of which battery to replace it with. Online if I go on recommendation for my registration number they all say check which battery you have currently for size - and I guess, if it's a stopstart. So I've got to do all that stuff at the beginning and take off the cover, etc. just to see what battery is currently in it? What a pain..... and I have arthritis in my hands so do you reckon I can do it myself still or will I have to find a man to do it for me....?
If you have the tools I’d definitely give it a go! Batteries can be a little bit heavy so take it easy or get someone to lift it out for you. Follow the video and I’m sure you’ll be fine!
@@IAMASPANNER Thank you so much! Oh, I forgot about the tools, I'll have another look and see if I've got them or see if any of my neighbours do..... cheers! I'll be careful :)
Going to change mine later . Thanks for the video . Does it make any difference in what you disconnect or connect first regarding positive or negative ?
Cheers Tom, I have the old battery at my unit I could check but if the car has stop start they require an AGM battery which is a fair bit more expensive!
Great video.. I have the same car.. the electric power steering is making some squealing noise when turning stationary.. Will the battery change solve the problem?
The battery won’t affect the power steering, if the battery is duff then the car won’t start, that’s about it. Are there any other issues with the car?
Thanks for da reply.. I'm mistaken not squealing noise but creaking noise.. I'm not sure but I think it might be the suspension top bearing strut.. i have to try to diagnose where the sound is coming from
I replaced my battery exactly how you did, it starts up perfectly but my power steering and esp has faults. Is this an immobiliser issue of some sort ? Or am i dealing with a different issue ? Thanks
Hello, did this resolve? I'm not sure on Citroens but on VWs you just turn the steering wheel full left and full right to calibrate the steering angle sensor.
@@IAMASPANNER yeah its resolved. It was just a bad connection to the battery after all so i feel really stupid lol. But still a good lesson incase anybody has the same thing happen.
