In 1963, the Corgi company introduced the Citroen DS 19 Safari station wagon toy model. This model was inspired by a television film about conservation in Africa. The toy was produced until 1965, but was later reissued in an Olympic variant and as an Alpine rescue car. The model I am restoring today has always been yellow and almost always missing the tailgate window and roof rack. My model also did not have tires. I supplemented all these things during the renovation by making new ones. The Citroen was also a very interesting toy because it had folding rear seats and the rear hatch opened upwards.
