great tutorial, can't wait to try this. I really like how you repeated this many times throughout the video so that it's easy to observe the transition without having to stop and replay the video over and over.

It's very rare that wizard movement tutorial with 4x80 skates on you tube. Thank you so much :)

After watching this for the millionth time I see something I need to keep in mind. It is sort of a pump. You turn into almost a stop and unweight to pump through this transition. I am going to try this on ice with hockey skates. As I have learned to skate this winter I have been watching more wizard tutorials learning stuff that will transition to inline this summer. The rocker on hockey skates is perfect for this stuff. It has been super fun.

@@davebrown1975 ha ha. My gazelle is mediocre at best at the moment! Not sure it's ready for youtube. City Blades tutorial will help me get better though.

NIce tutorial, although I never learned gazelle intentionally, just made one day without even knowing that this is a gazelle. Seems such a natural move for me. thanks anyway it will definitely help someone.

Awesome! timely too, for me. I'm only just learning to do a forward to backwards transition and vice versa, (don't ask me about the proper skating terms I know nothing), just rolling, nothing at speed, I'd need to do a jump transition for that, I need to get comfortable just doing transitions first, I was getting by just doing a sort of mohawk. This is cool. I filmed my efforts yesterday, will post on my Instagram some time today maybe, I'll tag you for pointers! Really good tutorial!

Can you give a tip for that 2 foot slalom exercise? I always loose momentum and speed in that slalom. Where is most of the weight in front slalom and where in the backwards slalom? Are you pushing one foot to gian extra speed?
@CityBlades
@CityBlades 4 года назад
There’s a knee bend/push with your edges that happens as you go back & forth. Weight should be pretty evenly distributed

Thanks for these tutorials, Drew. This is very timely for me since I was just starting to practice these moves. What would you call the move Mike Torres does at 9:10 in the Disembark video? vimeo.com/314821988
@CityBlades
@CityBlades 5 лет назад
Brad McGowan forward open gazelle with a skid through the second half of the movement
@bradmcgowan5186
@bradmcgowan5186 5 лет назад
@@CityBlades Thanks! It kind of looks like he's leading with his outside foot so wouldn't that make it a forward closed gazelle? Just trying to make sure I understand the terminology. Also, are you guys planning to demonstrate the forward open gazelle at some point?
@CityBlades
@CityBlades 5 лет назад
Brad McGowan the stagger is very slight though-open will stagger slightly, closed is clearly obviously staggered. We may do forward open but idk, once you get back open and forward closed you should be able to piece them together. Personally aesthetically I don’t care for the forward open
