When I was a city boy in the 80s , Brick Lane was far less gentrified than that. Still a great curry at a great restaurant ❤

Darren, the amount of time you spend in City Spice, don't know about paying the bills you should pay rent😊Once again a vibrant looking meal.And a blinkin good table, great food, excellent service and watching the world pass by❤ Loved the old-fashioned garnish. Lemon &Tomato with the Van Dyke cut.Blast from my past ( thanks for the snippet of " take me back to the ball park)😮With the superb portion sizes you get,have you ever had to grab a carry out box and take some home? @@DJsFoodTravels Hi Darren, mixed views and I apologise. lovely place, lovely food as my Group of 8 enjoyed it. 2 comments, our table was so close to the toilets in basement so smelly when anyone used the toilet. The second was Rice portions were SO MEAN, so when we order Pilau Rice we expect a bit of volume but staff gave us few grains. All in all good vibes but please be more generous on the rice? Thank you

Good Afternoon DJ. City Spice have really done there Best to become a Award Winner in 2024. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, each dish looked absolutely Off the Charts. Very Decent and Plentiful portion sizes, Your rice was very fluffy and very well cooked. The Geezer Naan, did look rather Tasty. All together a very Delicious Indian meal and with Excellent Customer Service with a Smile. Washed with a nice bottle of Kingfisher Beer. Glad you Enjoyed yourself DJ. Thank you.

Darren, I really like your content however I feel it could be improved by giving more detail regarding the flavours and spices. It's great to see you enjoying the food but may I suggest a slightly more descriptive narrative. The restaurants menu can be a great source of information regarding the food.

Loved Brick Lane back in the day. There would always be a few of us going there after a huge fit up of lighting/sound/screens/cameras etc in various venues in London. Normally end up in Browns in Shoreditch for a couple of jars afterwards!!! Happy days :-)

Me and my pal went down last night after going too Wembley £80 in a taxi there then £30 in an uber on way home well worth it though food was amazing that coconut thing too start was gorgeous with the popadoms I tried the phaal sauce very hot but flavoursome well worth it will be there again

Chicken tikka Jalfrezi is my usual goto dish, but recently, I've been having chilli chicken masala. It is such a tasty dish with just the right balance between flavour and heat. That naan looked amazing 👏

You clearly loved it and that's all that matters. I love Brick Lane but the street food is far superior to the restaurants, for what you paid there 4 big eating adults could feast for less from the food vendors. I know I always look at the price but this place is really expensive for their offerings which is par for the course there. These days it is aimed completely at tourists. Not far from there, you will find great similar food for half the price, Commercial Rd, Mile End Rd and Roman Rd for instance. Still love your blogs.

Have you ever been to a Punjabi indian wedding or ate home cooked Punjabi Indian food?.I know you would love love the food and be very surprised to find how very different especially the various curry’s are compared to Indian restaurants.
