" The Composition really is this dark/ light relationship. And as long as I have an interesting light/ dark pattern, the painting should work out." - Michael Chamberlain If I can get this, to the level that its instinctively how I see, I sense my painting will be so much more powerful. I had thought I needed to learn about Light and was hyper-focused on that; suddenly had that hit me that it is values, that explains light to the eye. Thanks for another fantastic share! Appreciate your generosity with what you've learned and your painting process. Appreciate your sharing so much. I always look forward to the Sunday video!
Really nice painting. You have the ability to take a fairly ho-hum scene and transform it into a scene of dynamism and interest a appeal! This is super appealing to me! Thanks!
Not only are your videos enjoyable to watch but you make good use of the time. Many Other youtubes waste a lot of time in introductions or poorly organized. I always know yours will be concise, yet complete.
Awesome painting with valuable tips! Is it possible to show longer video versions for Patreon subscribers? I would enjoy added segment portions that have no on-site narration or have voice over.
‘’ Foreground right , A Crimson Queen beckons to the viewer ‘’ find my heart in the future city beyond ‘’. Viewers adventure into, exploring , drawn by complexity they heed the words, and , some do find ‘’ . Michael, this Beautiful Painting speaks ! This Masterpiece is for the Gallery 🏆.
I has a painting session outside for the first time this week. It’s harder than I thought but also so much fun. Makes me appreciate the work you do so much more !
Michael, I've watched most of your videos, and joined Patreon as well. I think this painting is fantastic! Possibly my favorite painting of yours ever! Great job!
Awsome work.have learnt so much from you regarding just working with shapes and tone PS you have quite an infamous name sake in Australia namely Michael and Lindi Chamberlin ,baby Azaria and a dingo at Ayres Rock
I have been following you for over a year. I enjoyed watching you grow. Please keep it up. I particularly like the city scapes. I have a question, how do you video yourself in the field? Is someone filming for you, or do you have a tripod set up? Susan
looks great! Question - how do you achieve the scratchy look to your shadow block in? Are you using any medium or thinners at all? Whenever I attempt it, it just creates a wash, almost watercolour look rather than scratchy. thanks for the inspiration - ive learned more from your channel than any other!
You are so confident and make it look easy to paint this scene on site. Your comments are helpful and I appreciate your sharing your painting process. It's very inspiring and I agree with others that love this painting.
I really liked the end result of this picture. I expected just another street scene and was delighted this one was different with great colours and atmosphere.
Bravo maestro! I'm practicing buildings now, I want to follow your steps because I think the bay area and west coast, USA, is one of the best places in the world to capture big city oceanic atmosphere. 😊
