You are so good at figuring out the design and not afraid to change things. I find that to be the hardest part, to slow down and wait for the right time to add the colors.
Cypress trees are definitely challenging to paint. You did a wonderful job with your composition, shapes and design of space. It is a joy to watch you paint and listen to your running commentary.
would love to see you make a video about what art supplies to buy if you are a beginner. i find that im super overwhelmed on where to start and I want to invest in good materials. love this video!!
You and your daughter are extremely talented. I love the bond you two have it makes me feel so happy knowing how wholesome your family is, also I love your paintings , god bless ❤️❤️🤗
Really loved your sketch, you should definitely go back and paint the same composition on a much bigger panel. Btway, your style reminds me very much of our Canadian Group of Seven . Looking forward to your next one!
I love the cypress trees framing the ocean. Great tree angles, and movement through years of exposure to wind. Roots clinging to the rocky cliff edge. I just can't get enough of painting landscapes. Beautiful study, and will make an impressive painting. Possibly even a series of paintings in different weather conditions.
Your technique is amazing. I would’ve gone to draw the background first (the sea); but now I feel this is a better way to achieve the vision well. Thanks a-lot 🎨 A huge fan!
Very Californian Impressionist. Nice Oriental feeling about it--like Chinese or Japanese landscapes. Great block-in. You had me there. And cypresses are difficult to capture. And capture, you do!
Trees are definitely a challenging subject matter... As you say carefully composing the design is very important ... I like the area in the lower left ... Looks like a little abstract painting ... would love to see more of these tree paintings
A sunny day would change everything. I love the misty overcast. Impressive that you can achieve such value shifts in that lighting. I love this composition. I appreciate you sharing your learning and redoing. The end result is beautiful. Thank you, Michael.
