easy, the south-west corner had no warfare for a very long time making them technologically advanced and Babylon had them as enemies while the Russians had it easy with the north-west side.
They were behind on military tech, though, possibly due to population or taking a less than ideal path through the tech tree. Also, those citadels (and earlier forts) placed on the entrances to the northeast quadrant were very well placed and made it difficult to invade. Similarly the citadel guarding the pass between the southern quadrants made it difficult to invade there. That meant that Babylon's only real avenue of invasion that would allow troops to get through was the central hub. Of course, Babylon used the same tactic. Once Russia had cossacks, though, it was basically over. Babylon waited too long to do more than defend.
Halfway through this I was ready to comment "this battle was boring, Babylon obviously won early" Well. Your videos never lose their dynamic quality. Yet another crazy underdog victory. Also, Russian ability to somehow remain on tech lvl of Babylon despite not only having 1 city vs 4 but Babylon having the best tech in game is... Epic.
Отдельное спасибо автору за финальную картинку и музыку :) Как представлю себе бородатых мужиков с балалайками, которые прямо на медведях десантируются на растерянных вавилонян... это шикарно :) :) :)
Interesting how many games start like this. One empire shoots into superpower status early on, leaving all competition in the dust, and then they just kind of stagnate trying to expand here and there, but coming up empty handed until some underdog explodes violently into power and they kind of just have a cold war of sorts where they try to outgrow eachother until the decisive final war.
Well if you think about it, it's also what happens irl in some sense : single cultures become large booming empire in a matter of decades or years, but since they are unstable crumble almost instantly (like Makedon). Or, on the other hand, they sit on their power so long that they forget how they got it and become weak and rotten inside, becoming easy prey even to small powers (like Imperial Rome).
Russia came out of literally nowhere, taking 3 Brazilian cities, and preceding to unify the northern half of the world before Babylon could take the last 2 southern capitols. I was not seeing that.
LOL the Russians didn't even fire a single nuclear missile at Babylon. They didn't have too, their superior air force was enough to pummel them to smithereens, no nuke needed.
Incredible bad play of Babylon. Sit back and do research, not poke others after that amazing start. They had every defence covered and they had more land. Should almost have been in the modern era before the rest manage to get to renessance era.
The Russian AI this game was disturbingly good. Baiting other people into fighting for them and then mopping up, starting a fight and just artying them to oblivion, paradropping multiple cities at once. Looked like it was player controlled, damn.
Wow did Poland liberate Korea? For our freedom and yours indeed...or not. So they back stabbed them a little while later. Then Russia liberates Ethiopia? Russia is too stronk...oh wait, they back stabbed them as well. Russia: It's over Babylon. I have the high ground. Babylon: You underestimate my pow... Russia: UUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
The AI can be so damn stupid. I like how at the beginning the Aggressive Babylon takes four cities when only one other player has two. And then it sits and sits and sits and sits and sits. By the time it finally moved it was over.
we can see, babylon only strikes the left side when russia strikes too, using the center where doesn't have any citadel, and russia exit to the left doesn't have citadel... so the russian strike roll much fast than babylon, and they becomes the strongest position on map... just bad
*only 2 civs left having half of map* now this is going to be interesting, though babylon got more land for longer time, so they gonna be stron.... 30 seconds later kalynka'ed.
I like how Russia became Babylon's rival since their beginning, always having a constant border war when they first conquered their sector, then once Russia defeated Brazil and conquered it's own sector , it began responding to Babylon's acts
Glory for Mother Russia!!! When I was watching this video, my pet bear was sitting near with me and was playnig balalaika, while I was drinking 3 bottles of vodka for a breakfast.
Russian AI is good. Babylon should have won this battle but it kept doing worthless offensives to the South West and North East. Babylon should have conquered Russia right before it attack Ethiopia, or when it expands in the West.
jebar rudin That way the other AI won’t take the city back as easily, because all his units will get teleported away from the city. *insert smart guy meme here*
Hello comrades. My name, of course, IVAN and today Im gonna talk about my country RYS RUSSIAN SOVIET USSR. We always wear PALTO and SHAPKA USHANKA. We dont eat typical meal coz WE DRINK ONLY VODKA. And we also dont have cars coz THERE ARE BEARS EVERYWHERE. We dont play computer games coz WE PLAY BALALAYKA. And of course we stay COMMUNISTS and we STILL have KGB. Thats all i wanted to say about my MOTHERLAND RYS RUSSIA SOVIET USSR. Stay cool, listen to KALINKA MALINKA (we all listen to kalinka malinka coz we dont have other music but our memes are legal ) and remember THAT PUTIN THE BEST
@@Orwennian you both avenged julius together, (even though Antony kicked more ass) and cleopatra wanted to help but couldn't!! cuz.. cuz of.. like a storm or a bad omen or some other totally valid ancient sensibilities. Didn't they earn peace? SIC SEPER TYRANNIS FUCKER!!!!
Arty Cordova Sic semper tyrannis? Well, I have lived a long life, I have become the first emperor and one of the two most renowned rulers of Rome. Tyrants would be in great luck if all of them shared my fate.
heres why i dont skip: i think of the potential victors of each sector, i knew that russia, morocco and babylon were gonna controll their sector, cause of their strong unique units: cossack, berber cavarly and babylon archer, for the bottom left sector i was unsure but i believed japan to win it, cause of samurai and unique ability, but they had to fend off babylon on the other side woh was already established
@@biobauer8 honestly, I was surprised the bottom left stayed in such a strong stalemate, there was pretty much an unit in every tile and the stalemate only broke when babylon attacked
Missed opportunity with the soundtrack. Last song shoulda been Red Rock for Mother Russia. Was expecting Japan to make a comeback when The Empire Srikes played lol
What has Poland done? First, Poland won Seoul and instead of seizing it, it freed him. It was only later that Poland took over the second time. And then Poslka made peace for a moment after conquering Stockholm. Why? What did this AI do? Don't ask.
