I'm really thrilled to see this series return to my revamped and revitalized channel for 2021! This video is for all of you who commented and/ or subscribed after watching previous episodes from this series! Thanks for all your support and helpful feedback
I remember seeing one of your old videos and really liking it, then I checked your channel out and realised the channel wasn't as active as I'd hoped and was kind of disappointed. I'm really happy you want to give it life again because it truly has potential! It's a really great series and very helpful. Good luck for the future of this channel, we'll be watching your career with great interest...
Quick question.. How to actually use the attack move with the destroyer? For me it never allows me to use it for attack and I really don't understand what I am doing wrong. It keeps telling me there are no adjacent targets. Wether I am next to an enemy city or an enemy submarine.
Have you ever abused stealth bombers by maxing out XP buildings and instantly getting double attack plus 50% attack bonus against either cities or land units while also having autocracy for double aluminum?
It is also a great idea to know when your not so friendly neighbour will have their unique unit. This is when they are most likely to attack, either take them out before or have plenty of defence before they get their unit. Still listening lol. I believe that a lot of players have come back to CIV 5 because it is more fun to play than CIV 6.
I had attacked this city-state til near death but it just wouldn't Die. AND he just causally explains WHY. Needless to say im glad i watched this video
Your videos are a BIG breath of fresh air. It's great seeing new content posted on the now-"old" classics. Will be using this video for my Attila domination run! Planning on going full Tradition to keep up mid-game and 1-point Honor for Statue of Zeus/early conquer :)
I was still listening at the end! I'm glad you decided to come back, I also came back, though not to RU-vid but to Civ V, and your tutorials are very helpful!
@@JumboPixel Even better: I introduced two guys I know to the game, we'll have a multiplayer match tommorrow. I also made sure to share your tutorials with them! ;)
Yes, _great_ call. I think naval warfare is unique enough to warrant it's own separate analysis, so I'll make it clearer that this is a land combat tutorial :)
Watched all the way to the end including "Extra for Experts" segment, though I am far from being an expert in Civ V. Kind of felt like a college freshman in a class with mostly all Juniors (True story though, I'm just really into math!) but I really like the idea of tailoring each episode with Civilizations related to that topic. Though I do love a good Let's Play, they can be hard to keep up with. Also some episodes I've seen in other Civ LP's either lack teaching moments or become monotonous. So far I'm loving the content you put out and I'm excited to see more!!
I want to thank you for this, learned a few things from this that I didn't know about. I'm currently playing a match with some friends, and since I have more expereince in civ 5 than them (even though I rarely go for dominiation victory) theyre planning on teaming up on me. I'm hoping to use some of these strats to be able to defend myself
Did a double take to hear another kiwi accent. So used to hearing marbozir! Good summary mate, and good energy. Stoked to see Civ V still active out there.
Yeah lol I could never match a wonderful Polish accent! Hey glad you enjoyed the video man - awesome to hear I’m not alone in my ongoing love of Civ 5!
My strategy that works for me. Wait for your gold to stack up. Buy influence with all city-states and make them allies. And if your enemy has other civilizations has allies. Make them your allies. You don’t want to be at war with others. Less of a hassle. Always use your capital city to make unit troops before declaring war. Use all 6 slots. Musketmen and Riflemen are best imo. Have at least 2 cannon, artillery or machine gun depending on the era. Capital cities always take less turns. Having a great general and a citadel is helpful. For sea cities I normally use a great admiral and at least 4 ships to take over cities.
Been watching some of your Civ V content and you inspired me to play again. First game I've played through to the end in a long time. Had a blast playing as England on an Archipelago map. Crushed the AI. Backed off to Emperor difficulty as I don't think my Civ V game is up to Deity any more 😉. Thanks so much.
I still play this in 2021 all the way from when I bought it in 2014. I always surprise the enemy with the artillery tech because the range on the guns are op at that stage.
Keep going! Just arrived to Civ5 (tired of Civ6), and I wish to have more tutorial videos, and also perhaps even more focused, about the exact combat procedure, the exact numbers of expected damage, desired promotion trees... Whatever!
Listen here noobs, this is my dirty tip! Most of the times the problem is the ranged garrison unit. It not only shoots you but also strengthens the city. Use a worker as a bait to get rid of this garrisoned unit. You only send it into the enemy border and make sure that your army cannot be seen. The worker should be 2 tiles away so the garrison can capture it under one turn. Your army should be atleast 2 tiles away from the border because the AI can see the next tile after the border (can see even the third one if it's a hill) just like you with your cities. After the enemy captures the worker, counter them with mounted units and/or archers. With this trick you won't lose a unit while making the enemy city defenseless.
I've been listening to this series as I play. It's been extremely helpful. I do wish you would cover a topic for me. I do total war, late game earth take over my big cities hit starvation & all my tech is max, culture has 3 full trees & counting but I don't want to do a science or un victory. Any advice?
Ive taken out 2 of 7 ai capital, 1ai declare war against me then ask for peace which I granted. Few turns later she denounce me. Then 3 other ais declare war against me. What? I accepted peace treaty & do no more aggression but why she denounce me and 3 other ais declare war?
Does anybody know why this game has practically no community on youtube besides jumbo? This game has as many active players as hoi4 and more than games like aoe2 tw warhammer 3 and don't starve and is very well rated even today, but for some reason in youtube there are practically no new videos with even 50k views
The relationship between active players and RU-vid viewers isn't as correlated as you might think. Civilization 5 is over a decade old now. That means that many of its active players have been experiencing the game for years now - they're less likely to want to watch tips videos, or lets plays because they've seen/ done a lot of it already. New release titles tend to skew the other way too, of course. A brand new game will have a lot of viewers, and a disproportionately lower ratio of potential & active players.
@@JumboPixel i do think that as well but what i meant was a general lack of content ( not only tutorials ) about civ 5, you can still see a fair amount of age of empires 2 videos which has less active players than civ 5
This game is both insanely terrible and unbalanced as well as very good. When Barbarians and your opponet have the ability to summon 3 units instantly all while maintaing progress thats not a good game, but it is very fun just needs to be fixed
