@@trummelbach6065 it’s got a similar chord sequence, can’t think of anything else. That’s not enough to accuse someone of plagiarism, you know that right?
I don't know if the singers will ever notice this comment but the song makes me want to learn Portuguese. It's such a lovely language. Thank you for making it seem so effortless and amazing at the same time.
In this song, she's singing about the loss of a loved one (I believe it's dedicated to the grandmother of one of them). This is a rough translation, but it goes like this: I never wanted you Less than everything Always, my love If in heaven you're happy too Take me, I'll take care, all around you (Chorus x2) It's the flowers where my place is Now that you're not here I'll water/care for your garden I have promised That one day I'll change or try to be bigger If in heaven you're happy too Take me, I swear, always for your value (Chorus) It's the flowers where my place is Now that you're not here I water/care for your garden (^ these two lines are repeated 3 times) it's a bit hard to translate this to English, because some of the words lose its impact, but I hope this helped a little
Alex Badm Absolutely man. I'm filled with so many emotions listening and watching. The song is incredibly beautifull and they sing with so much emotion, that I feel the pain of the loss of the person who wrote it. Real piece of art!
@@ReiPele. the only thing remotely similar is that the tempo is slow, they're completely different genres of music. Amar pelos Dois was bossa, and O Jardim is indie pop. The subtle probably hurt them I guess, but it's a beautiful song.
I can’t believe this came last, and the Israel song won, like honestly Eurovision WTF!, this is clearly one of the best songs, go on Portugal!!!! I’m Irish btw and who else agrees that this one of the best songs
Tbh I like both songs, although I prefer Toy over this one I think something that made the Israel song so popular was women empowerment and being overall a catchy song to many and easy to understand and catch on so you can sing along, I don't state this by my opinion, they're somewhat facts since there are many characteristics that songs can have to make them likable Also I've heard that, it's VERY unlikely for the host country (aka the one that won last time) to win again (in a row)
Definitely shouldn't have lost. This wasn't my personal favourite, but it was clearly the most beautiful song. With this, and last year's song, it seems like Portugal has begun a tradition of producing meaningful, soulful songs. On that basis, I'm looking forward to hearing next year's entry!
After 5 years of this beautiful song and I can't still believe this actually got last place, it's heart breaking song and she sings from her heart. This is very special song it give me chills. Song is a miracle with a lot of power in its words. This song deserve much more, but most important is that this song took our heart.
De todas las canciones de este año, fue ésta la que me llegó al alma. No me importa el injusto puesto final, para mí fue una canción ganadora! Un placer descubrir a esta artista!
This is proving us that music have no language, no limits and no country. Even if I don't understand a word, this song gave me goosebumps❤ what a cute voice and I feel that she's singing from her soul. So emotional !
origi sistem you know music taste is subjective right? I have seen you respond similar things in other comments and I don't understand why you are spending your time insulting a song just because others liked it instead of supporting the songs you did like.
They are my second place.Totally robbed. They didn't deserve the last place, it's just unfair. One of the best songs on Eurovision ever. Claudia and Isaura, I'm in love with your song, you are the best, a lot of hugs from Russia!
You were perfect, Portugal. You show great example with bringing deep and beautiful songs to Eurovision, I admire you for that! This song deserves better, obviously!
Extremely rude of Europe for placing this last!! Shame on you! At least i voted for you dear Portugal - you have been one of my favourites this year from the very beginning, i absolutely love the simplicity and uniqueness of this song ❤️❤️ Thank you for an amazing show and for uniting us all once again at this year's eurovision - Greetings from Denmark ❤️
Opino lo mismo! La actuación super emotiva, a mí me costó tragar por no llorar..! No entiendo para nada un último puesto y tan poco apoyo del público...en fin.
Televoting Switzerland gave this a 10, Spain a zero. After all these years I still don't understand these votings... Don't understand at all why this enchanting song ended up last??? It was one of my favourites...
It´s been many years I haven´t heard such a masterpiece, this is pure magic. When this song starts playing I just want to stop anything I do, close my eyes and dream my life
You know what's interesting. One year has passed, and I don't listen much to TOP-10 songs right now. But O Jardim is with me. And will be with me. Muito obrigada para a cançao, dear Portugal.
I think Lena competed again in 2011 after she won in 2010 and did really well, so I’m not sure what happened here. I loved this, but I didn’t vote for it. there are unfortunately lots of songs like this, they’re beautiful and people love them but they get forgotten because they’re perhaps a little bit too simple compared to others, or they’re thrown off by running order. I still thought this was stellar ❤️
Loool what are you saying doesnt make sense, Above&Beyond have a lots of songs. So justjeykey, if you know so much just tell witch song are you talking about..
I'm from Spain and i sent a lot of messages for them... btw position isn't relevant. Songs don't turn bad or good by the results in the votes...This is magic
She sings so beautiful. Love portugal too much! This song is everything.... perfect to be in top 5 that year. 100% injustice .... Portugal music is always so beautiful!
origi sistem actually a lot of portuguese people don't like this song. Older generations don't like this song. I'm portuguese and I know. They didn't gave their best performance in the Final, their voice was a bit weak. But saying this is XX with lyrics in portuguese is wrong. This is an original song, in a native language, with a deep meaning. A song that entered in a contest that should be about music and not about fireworks. This was indeed underrated by Europe, because even if she isn't a Salvador Sobral, last place is something that should not be possible with this song. I saw many meaningfull songs that didn't make it to top 10 and I saw an overrated song that even if the lyrics had some meaning, was in essence a piece of Eurotrash that didn't represent the diversity this show is all about
Because the people are unfair, they think because Portugal won last year they don’t Deserve it to win or get a better Place this year.. (Sorry for my Bad englisch)
I don't speak the language, so I don't have the slightest idea what this song was about. Nevertheless it moved me and I found myself teary eyed. That, for me, is what music is for: awakening feelings. So, I just wanted to say that no matter if it placed last, it was truly an amazing song and performance.
Here are the Lyrics: I never wanted you Less than everything Always, my love If from heaven you are happy too Take me, I take care Always, around you [Chorus]. The flowers are my place Now that you're not here I water your garden The flowers are my place Now that you're not here I water your garden [Verse 2] I already promised That someday I’ll change Or try, to be greater If from heaven you are happy too Take me, I swear Always, for your worth The flowers are my place Now that you're not here I water your garden The flowers are my place Now that you're not here I water your garden
Πηνελόπη Γιαλελή the grandmother off the girl of black hair, she Had go to heaven last year. She Haddad a Garden/Jardim, and in the music she tale care of the Garden of her grandmother, and like the flawers died, and reborne, every year, we haver the best memories. So i wathering your garden now your gone.
cewits Yeah because Norway and Moldova were better than this -.-' ... I respect everyone's opinion but Norway and Moldova were completely horrible... and at least this song has a beautiful meaning
Artur Targaryen yeah but because of she sang in portuguese, the rest of people couldn't understand the meaning of the song. The same with my countrie, Spain, we were in 23rd place and people didn't catch the magic of the song because they didn't understand it. Really is a shame.
I've depression and I want to confess that since the beginning of the Portuguese performance it was impossible to hold the tears before such tenderness, sweetness and truth, dear neighbours. This makes me feel alive because the song itself reunites all the feelings and the values that I miss in this world, it's pure. Sometimes I feel fragile and vulnerable like Claudia while she is performing this masterpiece, it was heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time (performing or expressing her feelings because I could see the pain in her moving expressions and her smooth voice), her sadness is a mechancolic sadness like mine because I miss the happiness that used to fulled me when I was a teenager. I think that most of European people couldn't appreciate their performance so don't feel bad for the last position Portuguese people, somewhere near of u someone is still gratefull for feeding her soul. Keep ur exquisite musical taste and ur sensitive side and I'm sure that Portugal will conquer Eurovision once again soon, even sooner than expected. Greetings and love from Spain!!! (I need to apologize for the grammatical mistakes, I hope returning to English studies as soon I can!!!) 🌸🌸🌸💐💐💐
This song is truly beautiful from the beginning to the end. It's a shame that people didn't get the message because of the language although its meaning makes me speechless. Thanks for another masterpiece Portugal! Obrigado)
I feel so sorry for her and the country Portugal, because it was a beautiful show and she was a beautiful singer 😢 Portugal and Claudia thank you so much, you did all a great job 😊 From the Netherlands
I can't figure out how Portugal got the last position. It is such a beautiful and different song. Honestly, I think it is the best one this year. Love from Spain! (and I love your country)
LycanReaper because there is a tendency to pay less attention to the host country’s song every year, or the “ballady-similarity” to Salvador’s winning song last year, not mentioning the fact that they weren’t into “promoting” it.
Even 5 years later, it remains the last placing entry with the most amount of points since the implementation of the x2 system in 2016. I still cant believe this masterpiece was placed last.
Every year at Eurovision time I come back to this song, listen to it again and wonder why something so absolutely beautiful placed last in the competition. Anyway. I love it ♥️😍
Mateusz Żłobiński the only reason this came last is because Portugal won the previous year, clearly people dont want the same country winning twice in a row. If this was entered in a different year, it would have done so much better
@@simis_1975 the contest is bigger than ever, with more returning viewers than ever, most of whom would want to see someone new win the competition because it’s more interesting that way. On top of that the winning countries know they aren’t going to win again so they don’t try super hard that year. As a result you get a song that is nice but won’t rly do well in the competition
Last in ESC....so what?FIRST in our heart! This song is pure poetry...indeed!My god portuguese is a perfect language! Thanks Portugal for the show, greetings from Greece
I am French, I cried during the results. This eurovision was bought. It should be known that the singer X has been jury in the past (and they know each other). They made chickens win the place in a beautiful voice. Claudia you remain my favorite singer of the euro.
I‘m totally surprised about the final result. That smooth, minimalistic, awesome song was in my personal Top 3! Nevertheless, great show from Portugal. Greetings from Germany 🌻🥂
Some people never got over last year's win, and many were upset about Salvador's comments (buh uhh), so some form of retaliation was expected on the popular vote. But the juries?! And 0 points from Spain? Unbelievable.
Actually, if you see the history in the last few years, you'll realize that's usually not the case. The last country who had been last was Austria in 2015, with 0 points. Germany 10th in 2011, Azerbaijan 4th in 2012, Sweden 13th in 2013, Denmark 9th in 2014, Sweden was 5th in 2016. Ukraine did poorly in 2017, ending in 24th, but still not last.
WHAT??? Did this come last????? I heard this for the first time now, and wow... You know it’s a good song when it moves you so deeply even when you don’t understand the language. Love from Norway💓 Thank you for this beautiful song
2 years gone now, and this is the only song I can remember. This is a true masterpiece and obviously it's no shame to take the last place in esc... In this case it is an honour!
Très beau, vraiment très beau, je ne sais plus à quel moment précis j'ai fondu en larmes, mais j'étais totalement sous l'emprise de cette voix aérienne et de ce jardin du souvenir.
