Blue Kryptonite and that Crystal since his ship was able to cleanse the Kryptonite somehow, showed that the whole Kryptonite matter between him an Lana, wasn't that big of an issue. Especially once the Infinite Crisis on the CW show, and all of sudden he gave up his powers with blue Kryptonite watch....I mean really.

Season 2 had 7 Million viewers watching, the mid seasons hovered around 5 million or a little lower, 7 and 8 3-4 million, the final two seasons couldn't even get close 3 Million viewers. Smallville was Clark and Lana. I know I stopped watching when the show was airing I think somewhere during season 5, I remember the episode with Aquaman while I was doing my rewatch here recently, but I can't remember exactly when. I stopped my rewatch right at Requiem.
@@KeithEngel Totally agree ratings started going down when they introduced Lois. Smallville is and was about Clana and the writers pushed Clois and ruined everything. I can’t stop rewatching. I do so every other month and always stop watching at Requiem episode too! I’m hooked on Smallville. I found it on Hulu last year and glad I did ❤️😁
@@KeithEngel Yes final two seasons were the worst. Clark went from being totally in love with Lana to totally being in love with Lois. The Clois relationship on Smallville to me felt force. I didn’t feel the chemistry between TW and ED like I did between TW and KK. Clana is 🔥
@@kirklanddavis9141 Nods, nothing they would try to show me would make me believe that the only reason he ended up with Lois, was because he was forced into it, and that she was his second choice not his first. It doesn't help matters when they bulled the BS stuff from the Arrowverse shows and shows him "giving up his powers" using a Blue Kryptonite watch. I have just started work on a Fan Fiction that picks up right after the moment Lana starts to leave in Requiem. A snippet: He owed it to her, but more importantly, he owed it to himself to finally be stronger than his physical prowess giving to him by his abilities. It was time to cast of the worries, the regret, and most importantly the fear that had been holding him back and in check for so long. He knew his parents meant well, but he realizes now how much their own fears had become a part of him and his own way of thinking and feeling. He still had to be cautious, but he was no longer going to be motivated by fear, to live in worry, and unsure of himself because of that. Lana had become his equal physically, now it was time for him to meet her in this deeper way. She had asked him the first day of school when she picked up his book about Nietzhche, so what are you Clark, a man or super man? It was time to become the man he was meant to be for her, and for the world, and finally for himself as well. Everything in his life had lead him to this moment, who was he going to be, a fearful boy worried about everything, or a man confident in his ability to overcome even the hardest of trials, and what type of man would he be, if he didn’t do it for what mattered most in his life. He would live with that regret for the rest of his life he knew.
This scene proves that at this point Clark knew Lois loved him in episode Committed she told the truth and said so. In episode Bride, the almost kiss didn’t happen because Lana showed up. Same episode Lana told him “maybe Clark Kent and Lana Lang weren’t meant to end up together”, he brushed it off and still wanted to be with her. Lana is and was the love of his life. Although he started to have feelings for Lois he wasn’t in love with her, she was in love with him. Even Lois knew that once Lana was back, she didn’t have a chance, that’s why she left. He could’ve gone after her, if he wanted to be with her, but he didn’t, what did he do in episode Bulletproof, he went after Lana. He always chose Lana. He was in love with Lana, and got back with her immediately. “We’re together now, and I’m not going to let anyone take that away from us”. The writers ruined this couple, they were phenomenal together way better then Clark and Lois.

After Lana said that "after his ship got rid of the Kryptonite, there always seemed to be something getting in the way", the first thing I was thinking was "YEAH, the WRITERS of the show!" I'm sorry, but I will always be a #Clana fan.♥️ The writers never gave them a chance to be together. 🙁
@@peterdavies4166 yeah, I get it. But #Smallville was the story of Clark BEFORE he became Superman. And, the #Clana shipper in me wanted them to at least have a proper relationship. The writers could have let them date in the beginning without any obstacles in the way, and then if they broke up, then so be it. Instead of that on-again, off-again crap they did for 6 seasons.

Peter Davies in the comics Lois met Clark in metropolis not Smallville. Smallville differs a lot from the comics, Chloe is not in the comics either let alone being related to Lois.
You know what, if the writers were brave enough to continue to defy the canon and comics, these two could have a different storyline and ending even just in Smallville. They brought this "star crossed" lovers theme in Season 8 when actually things are going so well for these two! The word "ripped" and "forced" are all true when talking about transition of the show. What were they thinking really? lol
@BeaWalsh I agree. 1-8 was Smallville for me. 9 and 10 just didn’t do it for me. Love Tom but meh 😒 9 and 10. Smallville ended in season 8 for me. Chloe was always my favorite out of Clark’s “ladies,” but I feel she’s overlooked a lot. I loved it when she told Lois off a few times. lol 😂
The biggest reason these two broke up was Kristen left the show to pursue something new. I personally support that growth. It was not at least at this time a Lois or Lana thing. Personally I support Clana in this particular setting. All others Clois.

What he did to this couple was one of the greatest injustices of all time. At that point, nothing would stop Lana and Clark from being together, both reached a high level of maturity. There is a fertile relationship there, of much love, affection and respect.
What sucks, is that in this scene she knows about the ship and the kryptonite being burned out of it. Yet, we don't know how much more information she knows concerning such matters. How much does she know and what has Clark actually told her concerning everything?
They should have removed Lana from the plot when he became an adult. It is a shame that they never truly had Superman in the story until the very end. Lana was just someone he dated in HS but Lois Lane is the love of his life in all the other versions of the mythos of Superman.
I always thought Lana should have died young because her parents, and Whitney all died young. She should have died for good in season 7. Getting shot by Lex with a kryptonite bullet. Lex discovering Clark’s secret by hiding surveillance at the Kent farm. Melting kryptonite into bullets, then trying to shoot Clark with it Lana jumps in front of Clark & it kills her. She dies in his arms in the same spot where they kissed for the first time. That should have been their ending. Lana giving her life for Clark. 🙏🙏
I know there are Clana fans and then the Clois fans for Smallville. I am a new fan, 20years after....and I think it was the credit of Lois's character that in 3 seasons, they built up a crazy Clois fanbase. Clana had 7 seasons to them and no wonder people shipped them so bad. I liked Clana chemistry too, both are amazing actors. But as soon as Lois showed up from S4 in bits and pieces, I started looking forward to her. She entered scenes like a breath of fresh air and Clark's personality changed completely to this quirky, naughty, carefree, blushy teenager that he was supposed to be at that age. Just look at those scenes again. I want to do a re-run again sometime soon, to notice more angles, but I feel I would start from S4, coz for me Clois has what got me hooked till S10 and S9 being the best of it. Don't believe me? Watch Rabid and Pandora.
Rabid is such a solid episode. Lois allowed Clark to grow into a man and CK allowed Lois to put down her defenses and abandonment issues. He became confident and she became more soft. In fairness, the Clois fanbase is not just from Smallville because Superman and his Lois have been cannon since the 1930s, so the purists would support the ship even if it weren’t with Erica Durance. But, I completely agree that Lois brought in fun to the show. She added banter.
@@sbashkatova Not just banter. She brought out a different side of Clark. There were episodes where Lois just took up the episode one notch higher. She carried the weight of episodes along with Clark. Erica Durance is a phenomenal actress and she portrayed the best version of Lois.

When Lana showed up at the wedding I was furious. I love Kristin Kreuk but Lana had gotten so annoying season 5 upwards that I never wanted to see her again. Clark here is hanging onto a dream, his teenage dream. And for whatever reason he and Lana can't seem to make the relationship work for a long time without circumstances and their own behaviour getting in the way. That doesn't happen with Clois. Clark is heavy with Lana whereas with Lois he's fun.
I don’t mind that Lana returned, but I minded how Lana and Clark relationship ended. By comparison, Oliver and Lois got a much more mature resolution. A lot of Clana fans are pissed partially because these two have fantastic chemistry together, partially because people get attached to the first love trope, but partially because considering the emotional roller coaster of these two for seven seasons, the audience needed a stronger, emotionally speaking, resolution. And, frankly, Kristen’s character deserved to become more instead of just an object of Clark’s desire and a victim of fate. It was so frustrating for Kristen to play this second fiddle role. I do prefer Lois and CK because his alien-ness is never a deterrent in the relationship.
