This scene can be compared with the one from s10ep10 where Lois-2 DIDN'T KNOW anything about Clark-2's doppelganger. At first she was shocked and couldn't believe but then realized that it was a different person. Here Lana DIDN'T KNOW anything about Clark's doppelganger too. Of course, at first she was shocked and couldn't believe but then realized that the man who stands in front of her is real Clark.
Bizarro came back when Clark was a long time in fortress, not suddenly. And they (Bizarro and Lana) said that being apart from each other let them evaluate their priorities. So it wasn't too hard to fool a girl in love. He could say that now he can control his power, or something like that.
"I'm sorry, Lana, it's all my fault.." If you say so, why don't you feel like talking to Lana or touching her when it's time to go to bed at the end of this episode?
Roberta , good point. The only answer I can think of is blame the screen writers. Through out the first 9 seasons, Clark has been dysfunctional when it comes to romantic relationships. A real head scratcher. So blame the writers for making Clark this way. Clark lied and mistreated Lana for the first five seasons, except season 5 when he proposed. Lana has been an angel from the beginning. But Clark was written as a jerk until season 10. Very disheartening as I have the entire series on disk. And I'm both a Clana and Clois fan.
@@golfhound nope, Clark was a perfect romantic (see the beginning of ‘Wrath’). The _only_ thing he couldn’t give Lana is sex unlike Bizarro. That’s why she said she was happier with the latter. I know you’ll wonder why she didn’t suspect anything if ‘Clark’ suddenly was able to sleep with her. Well, if real Clark after Jor-El’s training could sleep with Lois, why Bizarro couldn’t come up with something like that?

Also he met Lana after Clark's long-time being in the Fortess, and told her that he after all the time being apart from her he decided to change his priorities. So "Clark" didn't change instantly.
