His first mistake was saying "firm commitment that America's interest comes first..." You can tell Superman was bothered by that statement. This is Captain America: Civil War issue all over again.
And that’s what the he’s not getting, Superman can’t just be doing good for a specific group of people, that lead to people thinking he’ll only help those that he sees worth helping, and that leads to problems with how people see him as a hero
It's also just weird because this isn't a new Superman. He's been the World's Hero for 20 years, and Anderson expects him to change that now? The guy is a moron
Thing is Captain America was a soldier, Superman isn’t. America can’t use Superman for their petty game of war. That was always the problem, army want to use Superman as a super weapon.
Homelander and John Walker are different from Superman and Steve (yes that includes Sam) because Homelander was raised by people like military weapons and John Walker was trained by the government
@@SuperZoro_ that rule appy cap as well. he is a good man first and perfect soldier second. dont let the name and the suit mislead you, just like supe, he always ready to put his foot down agains bs, no matter who's bs that is
Superman used to be all about truth, justice, and the AMERICAN way. That was based on the mythos that, to this day, makes the United States a place people want to move to. The aspirational USA that very plainly never existed. I really don't understand the patterns of history that revealed the US as nothing special as far as what the American way is but I remember when DC changed his motto to truth and justice. Captain America followed a similar path. Knowing Marvel, he was probably first down that road. The too long; didn't read is that Superman used to totally be willing to take orders from the US military. Just like Cap. Well, not exactly since Cap evolved in universe where as Superman was retconned to never have been jingoistic.
I think Clark is wise to try to stay out of the geopolitics. He needs to be seen as the world's Superman, not America's Superman. This really makes me wonder how people on our planet would respond to someone like Superman showing up.
All governments will try and recruit/take them over as fast as they can in order to make sure they have the best weapon. The public, in first world countries will be in admiration, quickly taking every opportunity to post about their encounters on social media. Those in third world countries will be very apathetic and won't care if a (superman) doesn't directly help them.
I got no problem with him trying to protect the US. I got no problem with a general trying to protect Egypt....or Costa Rica ...or wherever...that's their job. But trying to drag Superman into one side over the other is wrong .
What gets me mad about the lieutenant is he thinks he's the one thats gonna change Superman's mind about how he operates. What makes it worse is he's issuing ultimatums and please about things that aren't really his problem, and what really all the upper brass really care about is his relationship with the country not really any specifics. My favorite part is when General Hardcastle shows up and sees what's what
North Korean sub I understand Clark’s saving people but that might of made matters worse for South Korea if those nukes get launched by some dictator people are going to die
If it happens he will stop them but if he refuses to help because of where there from or potential risk like that than he wouldn't be a real hero he wouldn't truly be superman refusing to help could be the thing that causes a war saving them can give potentially good rep with them to know that there not alone and hes not against them like the military wants him to be loyal to America not other countries and actions he said could just lead to war to be
Completely disagree she was going through something in this episode and went about handling this situation the wrong way. But she supports Clark always and in all things. She is the reason why there family is so strong and together. While he is being Superman she holds it down at home. Being Superman and a father are both important. I love her and there relationship! She this best Lois!
