Im a loyal fan of these boots. Ive tried redwings (blacksmith) and while they are amazingly constructed thick manly boots when I put the desert boot back on there is no question. They are so light! So flexible. Like wearing slippers. For my feet that is just way more comfortable. My boot journey ends with the desert boot.
Thanks. Same here, I’ve tried Redwings as well. The desert boot is just simpler, lighter, and more comfortable. They aren’t perfect by any means, I’d like a more secure fitting boot with a little support, but 9/10 times the desert boots just work.
I agree, they aren’t as supportive as say a redwing. Its weird though, I dont know which is better supportive or light and flexible. I would say the desert boots are more natural like bear feet. Take that for what you will. I’m curious about the Desert boot 2. Def going to pick up a pair of those next. Ive walked a thousand miles in the bushacre 2. I thought those were grate bc of the hard rubber sole. However, they cracked on me on the palm of my foot over time. They also cracked on the inside and were terrible at the end. I wore the hell out of those. Ive had my desert boots crepe sole for years now and theyre holding up much better and they are more comfortable.
These two in the video were different colors. They don't make the "tan" anymore, just the classic beeswax. I've since moved on from these, now were Cole Haan Original Grands for casual wear. Much more comfortable, and can dress up a bit better.
Im an 11 1/2 on the Braddock. I wear an 11 1/2 in these boots. True to size. Plp will say they run big but your foot needs a little room. Only boot ive found that is my actual size.
I’ve heard that it’s not easy to do that, and given a lack of cobblers, it’s just easier for me to get a fresh new pair. Also, the upper leather may not last long enough for an insole.
