that segment had lots of easter eggs. i think theres a video out there which lists them all, this is just one of them. the best one being, of course, Richard saying he hasnt had a car crash in the previous years lmao
But she is - German aristocrats are wearing the bristish crown since what? Mid 19th century? edit... since 1714(!) when George I jumped in the seat. 1714 - 1901 (death of Queen Victoria) - Haus Hannover 1901 - today (death of Queen Elisabeth - Haus Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha, renamed Windsor 1917 And even Prince Philip had German roots. "Mountbatten" is a translation of "Battenberg", a German arictocratic family. So when you look into King charles´ venes, you would find a high percentage of German blood 🙂
@@MotivationSHCUM Richard: Well, James, our Sovereign has drawn her last breath, her heart has stopped beating and in doing so, she has ceased to be. So, that's a no.
RIP to those who died in brutal concentration camps in colonialist Kenya during the 1952-1960 Mau Mau rebellion RIP Nerissa and Katherine Bowes-Lyon, two first cousins of the queen who were publicly pronounced dead in 1940 and 1961 respectively, but they both actually lived in a care home with no visits or support from the royal family until their actual deaths in 1986 and 2014. RIP Chris Kaba, an unarmed 24 year old black man shot and killed by police in London whose death was overshadowed by the death of a 96 year old woman. RIP to those who can't afford to heat their homes and will freeze to death this winter, 14.5m people live in poverty in the UK.
Yesterday when i heard the news, i remembered that James May used to get joked upon for having lots of pics of the Queen. Last i checked only Clarkson of the TG Three reacted to the news. May she rest in peace.
One of the first Top Gear episodes I ever saw was from I think Season 1 or 2 of Jeremy showing the new Merc S Class and it’s voice activated telephone. At one point after Jeremy had tried numerous times the voice said “dialling” and Jeremy said “NO don’t dial that I don’t know who it is, it might be the Queen”.
She once drove the King of Saudi Arabia (when the country didn’t allow women to drive) around her estate. On a state visit. At speed. Very Well. Having been trained as a professional driver. #Feminist
@@DanielsPolitics1 The best thing about this being that, as a woman, by Saudi law at the time it was illegal to drive a car. That is a masterclass powerplay there.
This is off topic, but I often wonder how many times the producer of this channel has rewatched Top Gear in it's glorious entirety. Like, how does one make such random (but excellent) compilations without watching all of Top Gear and the Grand Tour basically on a constant loop?
From the second world war to 9/11, 7/7 & the covid-19 pandemic; she demonstrated leadership, compassion and Duty. She came into this world finding the United Kingdom stronger and left it stronger still, moderating change & leaving behind an astonishing Legacy. As those that spread fear, hatred, jealousy and power worship continue, the world is darker without her as she was a beacon of humanism and compassion in a sea of apathy and vanity, but giving us a past to consult whenever we cannot guide ourselves. The United Kingdom will endure, forevermore, thanks to her reign. The Queen Is Dead, God Rest the queen, long live the king.
Another funny one where Clarkson gets frustrated of all the options in the iDrive entertainment menu of the BMW M5 “AM or FM; who listens to the light program? Apart from the Queen and the Queen hasn’t got an M5!”
From what age 26 to 96 ... long lived her reign ... imagine giving up your childhood to be the sole leader of a monarch and a commonwealth?? She is definitely definition of stiff upper lip lifestyle.
