This video is about Aleph 5 Class A Test Follow up. This video is a re-test of the power up previous video of the Class A Amplifier Project Aleph 5 First Tests. I will attempt to explain why the FFT showed some higher spikes in the previous tests than it should have and why..
In the most recent video I did about how to run a spice simulation to look at the Power Factor of the Power supply MicroCap will be used to simulate the power supply for the Class A amplifier, the Aleph 5 Class A amplifier. I will show that the SPICE simulation of this circuit using MicroCap will correlate very closely to the tested results. The Power supply with bridge rectifier and capacitors will be tested to show power factor and how to size the transformer.
In previous videos in this series I show the initial build stages and how to properly apply thermal compound to a transistor to then mount to the heat sink. I showed a SPICE schematic in Micro-Cap, and I ran a simulation to show how flat the gain response is over the frequency band. I'll also show the parts that I bought to improve the parts that came in the kit. This will be followed up with me building up the boards and test them. Then I'll build the Power Supply to go with it. I'll actually build several to see what works best, and then finally install it in a box and perform final testing.

Very nice demonstration on optimizing the bias current of the Aleph 5. I am planning on building the Aleph 2. Do you know what the optimum bias for this?

I'm puzzled by your upload picture ratio! It looks like 16 x 9 which is correct, but it does not fill the screen. Maybe a look at the upload spec should put that right. Your older videos were fine. My comment is not a criticism but simply an observation.

Michael Beeny Thank you! I’m glad you brought that up. I changed to just High Def instead of 4k because of the upload problems. But they may have fixed that now. I looked up the RU-vid format so I’m sorry it’s not the same. Thanks again for telling me!

@@KissAnalog I used to video in 4K but up load in either 1080p but more often in 720p after I looked up who is viewing in which format, eg phone or PC. As most people, for some reason or another, view on a telephone, seamed pointless using all my data and hours of upload time when most people view in 480p or even less. I've never had a comment about my picture or sound being poor so 720p it is. AS for my content quality?? well, that's another matter completely!!

Interesting observations.It will be good to see the improvements that will surely come with improved filtering capacitors. What are your thoughts on the use of a regulated power supply specifically for Class A amps.I know most people think they are unnecessary for Class AB and B and even detrimental but for Class A I think they could be an advantage as the power drawn is constant(think I've got that right anyway?). Whatever floats your scope ! Amazing our class a especially class a tube design can sound good with higher distortion in class D sounds nasty with just a little bit of distortion. Give us more of that H2
