Here, classic 3 wheelers including bubble cars, powered tricycles (one by propeller!), delivery vans and a couple of motorcycle & sidecar combinations make up this 125-photo video.
Well-known three-wheelers including the Isetta, Heinkel, Messerschmitt, Trojan, Invacar (inc the hubnut Invacar) and various Reliants are here of course, as are some proper oddballs. The latter include the Rollera Francaise, Scootacar, Peel, Harding invalid carriage, Allard Clipper, AC Petite, De Dion Bouton powered tricycles, and the French Mini-Comtesse, to name just a few. If you're a fan of 3 wheeled cars, I hope I managed to include your favourite(s) in here.
Two types of Peel are included. Several examples of the three-wheeler and quite well-known P50 are here, but for me the Peel Trident would be the one I'd go for as it has a real 1950's appearance to it, not unlike something out of the Jetsons TV series with its bubble canopy. Talking bubbles, many of the classic three-wheelers featured also fall into the "bubble car" category too. Which category the wedge-shaped Bond Bug 700ES falls into I'm not sure, but there are several examples of the orange wedge to look at here.
Pre-war Morgans are to be found throughout this video, the majority powered either by JAP or Matchless V-Twin engines.
My top five would probably be the aforementioned Peel Trident, the Messerschmitt KR200, the Brough Superior motorcycle/sidecar combo, the early Invacar, and the AC Petite.
I hope this classic three-wheel cars collection was interesting, to see the hundreds of vids now on the Old Classic Car channel, please see the following page:

The way those Messerschmitts are obviously based on a fighter cockpit. People must have gone mental if you bought one of those just after the war!

My dad had a red Heinkel with a sunroof in 1963. Many stories have been told! Four people and a dog inside - they were slimmer in those days!

Reminds me of when I watched "Match of the Day" back in the 1970's. when the invalid cars were parked between the spectator stands/terraces and the pitch.

Back in the late 60s myself and three friends bought a pale blue Trojan bubble car for twelve pounds ( we were 15 years old). We pushed it from one council estate across the busy Uxbridge road to another council estate all the time trying to bump start it. At one point a police Panda car pulled up and asked what we were doing. We said we'd just bought it and were pushing it home "Okay then" said the constable, " but don't try to start it will you" of course not ( we replied). Once he'd disappeared it fired and started running. We drove it around the estate for a few weeks until one of us rolled it taking a corner too fast ( not me). Apparently it was still running on its side. After that we dumped it by the council garages and the council eventually cleared it.

The Isetta at 18.48 had 2 windscreen wipers. I don't think I've ever seen that before! Shame that there doesn't seem to be a Coronet or Powerdrive represented. I hope at least one of each has survived into preservation.

Hi, on the main OCC site I have a page of old collectors' cards from the 1950s featuring miniature cars etc, an illustration of a Coronet appears on there, but whether any survive or not I'm not sure: www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/bubblecars.htm

Great collection of three wheelers. Love the Morgan's and Scammell Ant. Interesting to see the different companies idea on the drive and front or rear single or dual wheels.

One of my cousins bought a new orange 🍊 bond bug, she thought she was trendy! They now seem to have quite a following. Glad you included the BSA, my Dad had several, some with sidecars. Then the family started to grow! Nice collection and thanks for sharing.👍BTW always love the 'railway transport '.

Love Bubble Cars, absolutely love them. Some of those Bubble Cars look very futuristic considering their age, from George Jetson era, as you said. Not enough content on YT about Bubble Cars, so thanks for putting this up, great selection.

Great vid OCC, my first car was a LHD Isetta 3 wheeler - good piece of kit, we did a lot of miles and had a lotta fun, ..............FWIW I really wanted a Messerschmitt, but even back in 1971, they were very hard to find and pricey when you did.

I think the Guzzi powered trike is a TRIKING ? They were advertised in 'The Classic Motorcycle' magazine in the '80's. Don't know if they are still in production.

I love the Bond 875 van. Given that I was a kid in the early 70's, it suprises me that I only ever saw 1 of these on the road back then and I never saw anything like a Trojan. Considering they were being built as late as 1964 and there were plenty of contemporary cars on the road at the time, you'd have thought I'd see the occasional one but no.

Same here, the beige 875 I photographed a couple of times in (I think) 2007 but don't remember seeing another.

@@oldclassiccarUK The one I saw in the mid 70's was a very ratty looking red one. I could see it had Hillman Imp wheels but apart from that, I didn't have a clue at the time what it was. I did know, however, it was very cool! I remember I was sat in the launderette with my mum. I was watching the cars through the big front window of the place and the Bond pulled away from the traffic lights very smartly! So not only did it look cool but it apparently had a very decent turn of speed. It wasn't until the mid 80's when I started reading Practical Classics that I found out what it was.

21:20 With the wiper completely off the window. Looks to me like it should park at the other end of its travel and not go as far as it's shown !

Of interest, perhaps, a Swiss company has developed an electric re-incarnation of the Isetta. It is very cute and appears to be ready for prime time. It is called Microlino.

One of my great regrets, was not buying a Bond Bug when I worked at the Tamworth factory. If I remember correctly, they were about £700🙄

Thank you for that comprehensive view of three wheelers. I particularly liked the inclusion of the late 1940's Regal Regent vans, as in the early 1950's my uncle and aunt, my grandmother and perhaps a couple of other uncles used to drive up from Bermondsey in one of those vans, to Hertford to be with our family on Boxing Day. My uncle Charlie's van was a shabby maroon hand painted works van rather like those shown, or the one in this clip, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EZfob5do-RU.html . I can't for the life of me think what the journey would have been like in that old van with the rear spring clamped together with a G clamp as I later learnt. My father worked for the local brewery and they used a Scammell just like the one shown (CUV 754) to tow a set a trailed gang mowers to cut the grass on the company sports field. Happy days!

That was quite enjoyable thank you, I was waiting for a Frisky to show up and you found a good one. I had two, one was a family three with the 250 twin villiers engine the other had a 350 excelsior twin engine. I also had a mk2 Scootacar with a 197 villiers engine.

Thanks for the feedback, I'd dug out a few photos of Frisky Sports only for it to dawn on me that they're four-wheelers, so they want back into the file for another day.

I modified one Frisky which has now dissapeared and broken up. I fitted a DKW 800cc 3 cylinder engine, tuned to extreme, I got 130hp and it went so fast the front wheels lifted off the road, I ran it for over 6 years until someone drove in front of me.
