My wife has cooked for me about 10 times in 8 years. I do the cooking. She likes to bake though, so while I CAN, I don't. I don't want her to feel as though we are competing, or that I don't like her baked goods.
I think that's pretty common nowadays. I've always been the cook in the relationship, and not just because my wife can f**k up kraft mac and cheese. Lol! I actually really like cooking, and enjoying the food with my family.
@@thegoose2724 I feel ya bro .. it's usually either chicken and sausage or just a straight seafood joint ...never made okra gumbo ..I ain't to fond of that version....but do be added filé to whatever kind I make ...I made a rabbit and andouille sausage gumbo one day....can say I have had a better one in my whole ass life
I got my great grandmas magnalite from the 80’s and I make serious gumbos in it but also etouffées, courtbouillons, fricassées, sauce piquantes, jambalayas, red beans, white beans etc. I’m born and raised in south Louisiana.
@@sodvine3486 A roux is basically a gravy and I'm sure you've heard of that. It's kinda like whenever you fry some chicken or pork chops in oil and drain 3/4 of the oil and build-up your gravy/roux from there like you see on the video!!!! Out
Because they use shellfish in vaccines, your body considered it an allergen when your body mounted an immune response, get your probiotics up, you’d be shocked what you can heal…
In from New Orleans and although my grandma or elders didn't make their gumbo like that you are dead on. You make me want to go make me a pot. Yes that pot... (Magnalite) is by far the best tool you can ever use. It looks amazing. Dark roux is the best.

I think it's crazy how I was in college had never made the stuff & ROCKED tf outta a gumbo. My recipe has changed over the years but I always think it's crazy how I made that without knowing wtf I was doing!
First real gumbo I've seen on yt, besides like Isaac toupes or some shit, this is actually a true louisisna gumbo. Born and raised in louisiana and this is how you make a gumbo people.. Thank you for not wrecking my heritage.
I usually broil my chicken, bones and all while I'm making the roux, then put it in later, after I bring it to a boil post-stock, then turn it all down on low heat and let the chicken and sausage just stew in there for 2-3 hours at least
Try it like he cooked the chicken in this video. It more flavor in the chicken. And you can make that delicious flavorful roux from the chicken drippings 😋 I've done it both ways and find the chicken more flavorful when grilled in the pan with all of your favorite seasonings.
Finally... A RU-vid "short" Cooking video with actual step by step instructions... The dark roux and brown roux both gives good flavor. This video is worth watching several times.
Not from Louisiana but my mom is and that's about how she would have had me make it except she would have me use butter like half butter half oil but that Roux looked 🔥
Babeeee- if you do not have a pot in your kitchen that looks like this ... I do not want to eat ANY of your cooking. I said what I said and I do not have enough room to write why. True cooks overstand.
That was the best-looking chicken gumbo I have ever seen and I have never seen chicken gumbo made before but I do make them bow but that look good I'm going to have to try that recipe thanks for sharing just saying
