It's true, I've been to quite a few events like this and you really don't appreciate just how beautiful (and in some cases, big) these cars are until you see them in the flesh. True works of art.
I admit that I forget occasionally - seeing you with the endless string of vapid, useless actors and celebrities every night on t.v... But I *do* love you, Jay Leno. Your knowledge, enthusiasm and willingness to share both your - and other folks' - cars with us is a special thing. Thanks again for letting us enjoy these works of art!
Thank You again Jay for showing us such beautiful automotive history! I love, love, love hearing the history about the car and about where the car originated and for what reasons. Wedding gift spoiled! Should of started the couple with a Ford
Hello Jay, Great show man and thanks for it. I was riding my bike through NJ and came upon an antique shop and found a "Gabriel" 1932 Model SJ Town Car Duesenberg Metal Kit. I said Leno gotta have this!. I would like to donate this unassembled in the box to you and your Gallery. Contact me if you folks are interested and I will make delivery arrangements. Thanks again. Keep the shiny side up!
Then again i suppose it helps when you own like 250+ cars and have a team of mechanics that you can both learn enormously from as well as work jointly with to fix any problem with any car/truck/bike you own.
Damn, to hell with going to a theme park or amusement park to have some fun, i wanna spend a weekend in Jays garage. Hell i dont even need a bed i'll bring a damn sleeping bag and sleep on the floor if i have to...
That 1933 Studebaker President Speedway 8 actually has a 337 ci engine rated at 132hp. That was the only yr it was available & was the highest hp Studebaker for the next 22 yrs.
My dad had a old Diamond T truck. I think it was like a 5 ton. It was a winch-truck. Wish I had it now but even more I wish I had a Diamond T pickup all restored and air-conditioned.
damn Jay is just a walking wikipedia when it comes to cars of all sorts it seems.I know he knows his stuff when it comes to automobiles but when he can spew out information on these cars like this, almost as if he was around when these things were being manufactured, it almost boggles my damn mind.
Studebaker - true to form durability, class, driveability. A seriously underrated all time masterpiece of American design and ingenuity. Jay's talent for picking out detail in all classics is quite special. Points to the sad fact that post '30's, humanity in general has seriously lost creative direction.
+Christos Lamborghini the grill, looks like a 1940s Mercedes-Benz, but it is not.. Try to see the hood ornament and it might help you find out wich car it is.
+Bender Rodriguez The hood ornament appears to be a horse head, which tells me a custom and other things could be modified. But... given the side slot vents on the sides of the engine bay and the fender ornaments, leads me to believe it is a 1930's Buick, albeit modified. Please correct me if I'm mistaken.
+Jacob Stracola +Bender Rodriguez I finally found it guys. It is Tom Lyle's 1940 Packard Victoria. And it's hood ornament is a horse's head! Such a beautiful car!
Well You have to Remember.. In the time all the cars where made They didnt Know that much about areo dynamics .. and they didnt care about the fule mileage.. And Modern Cars its about the Mpg and areo dynamics.. Not so much of the looks i agree with you there they look terrible. :) have a good day
