8/2/1993 appears to be the airdate of the rerun here, as Tvtango says 8/2 is when the Laugh-In special reran that Summer, a Back to School sale for Payless would probably indicate an August airdate, also.
@@jessyleppert2 And I also noticed that the NBC re-edit replaces the shot of Alex announcing they'll be revealing the home winner on Day 2 with a generic shot of the audience.
In the Spring of 1988, they tried an early experiment with this format, before switching to best two-out-of three. In this iteration, the readout lights are red. After two years with best two-out-of three, they returned to the two strikes format, and the readout lights were now white with black X's.
