Interesting! I've never thought to fry liverwurst. I actually had a hankering for a plain liverwurst sandwich on plain white sandwich bread with just yellow mustard and raw onion slices.
I've never had organ meat of any kind, but this looks fantastic. Looks a lot like fried bologna. I'm also in love with the raw onion, garlic, and horseradish additions; not to mention this man's wonderful personality and wholesome, silly jokes.
Hi Rick and Kathy! 🖐🙂 My dad introduced me to braunschweiger, when I was a little kid, & I LOVED it! I still love me some braunschweiger, to this day! Good stuff! Time Ta Eat!!!🍽😋
I'm not a fan of liver in most forms, but I do enjoy liverwurst and chopped liver. Just had a liverwurst sandwich two days ago with mustard and raw onion on rye bread. Delicious! I had a slice left over and found this video. I'll be enjoying it fried with my breakfast eggs this morning. Fun video! Thanks for the inspiration.
Omg soooo good looking Now I have to get the old style and cook it ! and all the things that go with it Hmmmm garlic too I like garlic never thought to put it on liver wurst .
@@RickMammana I just got some brauns now !! I bought horseradish , and that Coleman mustard from the store just now its got a crazy taste 2nd time I got it I have all the other ingredients too. I looked at the other brauns sandwiches on here and they use up the WHOLE tube for 2 sands thats the people you want as close friends, lol.
Hi Rick. 😎 We both like liverwurst. Fried or not. Always good. Most of our family frown when we say the word liverwurst. But they are too spoiled. They don't even like bologna, ?????? TFS
The Fried Liverwurst looked great! Everything is good in butter. 😊 You have to try some boudin Rick. Good stuff from Louisiana. A local shop here bakes boudin in croissants. Good stuff! 👍🏻
Hard to find whole rolls of sandwich meat these days! In college I ate fried bologna and cheese sandwiches and for dinner I ate a box of 25 cent mac and cheese with fried slices of bologna. We can't get pork roll or Taylor ham here in Florida as easy as when I lived in Jersey.
My brother would fix liver pudding sandwiches. I’ve never tried one and probably want. He passed away in 2000. You remind me of him with your sandwiches.
I didn't know that you can fry this never thought of it. That looks delicious & is very appealing to me. You mentioned all the good vitamins and nutrients in it but not the bad or negative aspect of this delicious food which is it is high in saturated fat and cholesterol but not as bad if you buy a quality product. The key is, eat it in moderation. Good job sir...
My Grandpa loved liverwurst, he'd usually have that or a big package of sliced ham in his his fridge for sandwiches... I was too scared to try it is as a kid, maybe I should now!
New sub here. too funny. just introduced my young boys to LW and they love it. They asked for me to make them a LW sandwich on Rye for their school lunch! Too bad Mother Goose is no longer made…but I find Boar’s head very similar in both flavor and texture.
Absolutely. Liverwurst or braunschweiger fried in butter on a bun - with mustard and onion (or maybe some Worcestishire sauce and pepper). A great American sandwich you can enjoy for lunch or dinner. 😁😁
Processed or store brand liverwurst fries much different than freshly made from a butcher shop. I had processed liverwurst the other day and it tastes nasty. I like very little maple syrup on mine rather than any other condiments and served with eggs and fried potatoes.
Liverwurst is rich. I can eat it but it has to be a normal sandwich slice like you'd get from the Deli. Those slices he's cutting are way too big for my taste.
lol.. that is a LOT of salt, fat and calories my man.... lets say each of those crazy thick slices is 4oz... which means you just ate in one sandwich: 750 calories, 420mg cholesterol, 2000mg sodium and 60g of fat... and that is JUST the LIVERWURST.. not even adding in the butter, cheese, and mustard which probably doubled that! YIKES!
We had Brunschwiegwer growing up and I thought it was ok. Then my grandad told me it was Liverwurst and from that day on I could never make myself eat it again. Go figure….. On Pizza? That’s as bad as anchovies!!! Ha ha Thanks for the video!
