Classic Game Room HD reviews TOM CLANCY'S H.A.W.X 2 for Xbox 360 from Ubisoft, also available for Playstation 3 PS3. Blow up terrorists in airplanes in Modern Warfare meets Blazing Angels, it's HAWX 2 for Xbox 360 and PS3. Fly a variety of jets including F-22, F-35, F-117, F-15, F-16, Mirage, Mig-29, SU-27 and more. H.A.W.X.2 is an arcade style flight action combat game where you play a variety of missions in a wide variety of aircraft. Can you still switch the assistance off in this game and pull of the crazy stunts you could do in the first one? I didn't see any footage of that in the review...man, I played with it off in HAWX 1 every chance I could. That was a blast.

Word of advice, the mach 2 for 60min achievement is glitched and if you do a co-op mission before unlocking the assit off 60min achievement it will permanently lock the achievement.

comparing this to assault horizon (which many AC fans didn't like), I'd say that the HAWX series is catching up to compete with its main rival.

@DocFunky i played the demo on the brickbox and yes you can. But: am i the only one who has problems hitting something with the cannon when using the gamepad? even if i reduce the deadzone to 0 it seems that i have to move the stick about 50% of its way until something happens and then its wayyyy too much...

The game is awesome, I can reccomend it. 100%, I had lots of concentrated hours with this game. Dont listen to ' AWH THIS GAME SUCKS ' comments, do what you feel for, I mean, everyone doesnt have the same game style, or like the same things. Its up to each and everyone to themselves.

@Snotnarok i meant the Strangereal world itself was belivable. and some weapons might make sense. like the SOLG or the Arkbird without the laser. damn expensive but plausible. also the Sinfaxi class subs.

@SupermarketsRevil yes they are trying to be cool. and yes it does fail, however at least they tried something less bland as just hawks. i guess it was to try and differentiate between the birds and the planes...so they made it an x

I agree! we need a Macross mod or port with this engine! I want to fly a Red YF-19s and Fly While singing "Remember Sixteen"... that and Minmay singing somewhere. although getting Hawx2 for PC anyway the game looks really nice! and keyboard and mouse help on fly games when not having a flying stick

i am looking for a really good flyer type sim game, i love battlefield 3 and how they added jets n heli's mixed with ground warfare, but its so damn hard to level the jet up to get rockets grrrrrr.

I really wish there were a very easy mode. In some Ace Combat games, I went to missions and tried to beat them only using a machine gun. (I see you often use the gatling gun for a second, miss, and then switch to missiles, which is normal, but not as fun as going on the chase.) However, this game is just too hard for that, as was HAWX 1. Oh well, that's me.

@uhmidk7 In ace combat 6 there was a giant cannon that you had to fly into, and a giant jet that had a runway with OTHER giant ships with it. Ace Combat X had a large ICBM launching cloaking fortress. What's not THAT outlandish? hahaha.

Plot...aliens...had me going over to a vid of the old C64 AirFox game. So led me consider an air combat game with a floating city/ship from recent movies. Won't be long I'm sure.

ok. i like this game but its really my first aviation game i have so i dont have a flight stick. and when i look at videos people bitch about regualar controls... whats the difference between them? and if i do get one whats the best kind? (xbox 360)

It's challening because it's made for co-op. The AI buddies are useless while enemy is very good. And you have max 5 flares when the enemy has unlimited. Not only that but usually you have to fight 10 enemies at once... with a time limit. You always have many rockets tailing you which means you need to evade them and at the same time try to manually shoot down the enemy.

@silva70001 This games more shiny, but a lot of fans prefer HAWX1, I can't decide myself, they're both fun. Though the controls in HAWX2 are a little sticky.

Mate you shouuld really give it a go on ace combat games from ps2,maybe the latest ones isnt that good but the ps2 ace combat games are just terrific..... Give them a chance please(and in some you have to shut down some massive aircraft,what some gameplay videos of the X-B0 on you tube and you will know what I'm talking about)

Im still waiting for the pc release. I was thinking about getting the xbox version but paying 20 bucks more and loosting the option to make videos? ... srsly i cant wait to make my hawx2 video with a FA-18 Superhornet and "Danger Zone" :D

What this guy says about buying a controller stick - I wouldn't just for this game. My flight stick (Saitek AV8R-03) actually had "Compatible with HAWX and Blazing Angels" as a selling point, (and with HAWX1 it is good) but with HAWX2 the deadzone is so big you're better off using the arrow keys on the keyboard. My friend also has a much better flight controller (I think it's a thrustmaster or something) he has the same problem with horrible Deadzones. HAWX2 has very sticky controls.

Note: Tom Clancy games are no longer actually endorsed by Tom Clancy as they were in the old days. Ubisoft can now just put Tom Clancy's name on any game they please.
