The one thing I hate so much about Microsoft's Xbox series (360, Xbox One and onward) is you have to pay to play online for a month or a year, and that is stupid.
It's complete bullshit. I hope Sony or Microsoft someday decide to make it free, creating some competition for both parties. After all the consumer wins out in the end, and that's exactly why the only console I own is a PS3. I use my PC for everything else. Looking into buying a PS2 or an XBox soon.
@deadlywon The difference is:the new PS3 wasn't marketed as a total rebirth of the console. It was just supposed to be some minor updates, energy efficiency, smaller form factor, etc. You'll notice that Sony DENIED it being called the "PS3 Slim". The new XBOX is like some revolutionary new thing according to Microsoft. Also, the fact that they put "Kinect Ready" on the box, makes me sick. They're trying to trick consumers into thinking that the only way you can use Kinect is with the nex 360.
built in wifi means that you dont have to buy a wifi adapter On the older xbox you have to buy a adaptor to connect to wifi A adaptor will cost around the 60$
I got my 360 in 08, it still works pretty good except for the disk tray getting stuck sometimes, we have an elite in the living room that we use for movies, but I'll need it if my classic breaks.
LOL my Xbox 360 Arcade just broke yesterday so I smashed it with a hammer! So now im getting a new one on thrusday :D And thanks Mark for gracing us with your sexy stickers and Atari 2600 xD
This was originally called the elite slim,they shortened the name because of critic reviews,but it was released as the successor to the elite line of the Xbox so you are both half correct
Acuravigor47 It should've been called the Elite, and the actual Elite the Black Edition. Makes more sense as the actual Elite is no different from the white Xbox 360s. That's what i think though.
@Classic Game Room - This black Xbox 360 is Call the Slim that is not Elite this is Slim and Elite is on the older original black Xbox 360 you don't get it right I do cause I'm a smart guy than you.
I was playing my Dad's Xbox 360 E Last Sunday and I was using it to play some of my Original Xbox Games on there (Via Backwards Compatible) and I was playing it for Hours and I had this Feeling in my Head saying "I Miss playing the Xbox 360 since my Original Xbox 360 Elite Broke Down November 2013 and I haven't played it in so long" that Feeling hit me so Hard so my Dad told me when we move he's gonna give me his Xbox 360 E since he's gonna stick with the Xbox One and I was happy that he made that Deal I can't wait to start playing them again Real Soon
i have the newer Matte Model 360. for some reason im not sure whats the difference because I've heard that the newer models prevent from RROD and apparently they do.
So is it RROD proof or at the very least, does it last longer than the old one? It looks great but as is with games, looks are not everything. I have to say the glossy finish is a very poor decision from MS.
I wish my Xbox 360 slim still worked. It was my first Xbox and the HDMI port stopped working on it so I have to use the ugly ass Xbox 360 E or whatever the fuck it's called.
i have the black xbox 360 elite 120 GB my friend never used so bought it from for 50 buck with wifi adaptor, 20 games ,iron man controller and normal one ,mic but as for the new one i like the built in Wi-Fi.
yeah the noticed with the 4gb xbox 360 s that i was going to get it and then buy the hdd drive later but thats actualy costs more than getting the one with a 250gb already i mean the hdd costs like 98$ and the 4gb is 200 plus tax's going to like 210 and thats go's to about the same as just getting a 250gb xbox then you get the shiney and less risk of rrod from the flash hard drive on the motherboard of the 4gb
No matter what they modify.. It will still be an Xbox 360.. Just better design, smaller, more features then the old... etc.. I don't see why buy it.. Unless you hate Red rings since theres so much vents on it, so it doesn't overheat from what I see... Also this is an OPINION so if your gonna reply don't bitch... First of all, who's "u/U"? Second of all, I've actually been a huge fan of the SEGA Genesis since 2010. 1 year before I got into CGRHD. Third of all, it was intended to be a joke. And fourth of all, I think that there is no best system, but the Genesis is very high up there.
I dont know about this one i realy dont. Its a nice system but is it going to get the Red Ring or something worse. My PS3 broke and gave me the finger so if i get the new Xbox is it going to do the same thing, cuz my Gamecube and PS1 is old and they still work like new.
@nairbzaid The PS2 problem doesn't even come close to the phenomenom that was the Rrod. I had a PS2 for 10 years, sold it in good shape. I didn't know anyone who had any problems with a PS2. I went through 3 Xbox 360's and everyone I knew had their 360 Rrrod at least once.
my 360 finally completely crapped out on me earlier this year (I've had it since launch, and I've fixed the RRoD on it and several broken DVD drives, but it finally had enough), so I bought a new one about a week before this model was announced... :(
@o1993 i agree my ps3 fat is only 7 months old and i'v recently noticed small scratches all over it. i use a fibre cloth to clean the dust off. you have to clean it every day to keep dust off. it is a real pain. microsoft messed up with the sleek design
I know im going to get thums down for this but i like the old xbox 360 mattle finish better as it is easy to clean. The sleek design of the xbox 360 slim gets scratched dust and dirt and is just a pain to clean

@xryanxbeastx33 Lol but MAG is so generic and boring that it dosen't matter it can hold up to 256 players. Gears 2 is A LOT better now, it lags only every now and then. I rather play with 10 people in gears 2 which is a lot more fun than a generic boring game like MAG with 256 people. Better graphics don't mean better games. They are pretty even at exclusives if you ask me. The 360 and PS3 are so simular, just look at the games. Its not like the days of n64 vs PS1 where there was a srs dif.
@BI0H4Z4RD561 Actually the YLOD is a lot more common than most people say. PS3 fanboys just like to pretend it doesn't exist. Is it as big as the RROD? No where near it but its real and I've heard it happen at least 10 times. And when it does happen it does fuck up the HDD and wipes it. The RROD may happen way more but the YLOD is a worse thing to get since its so much more fucked up.
@mangaas True, my 19 year old SNES works perfectly. I've heard a few PS3's breaking(like a fifth the amount of 360's) but when a PS3 breaks you get really fucked up the ass. Every PS3 I've heard of getting YLOD the HDD got wiped, I never heard of a 360 HDD getting wiped. It cost fucking $140 to fix the PS3 while you get 3 years for a 360 which is free to replace. But these problems are fucking ridiculous though. Hopefully the new 360 fixed the problem. I miss the days of n64 and PS1.
@Pacsun4dc Whats wrong with paying for online? Its a much better service than PSN. You can't call me a fanboy because I own both and played the same exact game(cod4) on both and it was a way better online experience on Xbox 360. The funny thing is the xbox is on a different floor from the router yet I get full bars and the PS3 is in the same room as the router and I get like %50-%60 signal. Does the PS3 suck? Hell no, its a great console I just prefer the 360.
@fvgotch That's what I said, even sony realized it was fucking stupid to make a shiny black color. PS3 WAS a dust/finger print magnet then they fixed it with a matte finish, now 360 realized how great an idea finger print collecting is. I don't suppose the hard drive from the first one will fit onto the second one... But my XBOX broke (for the second time after getting it fixed under warranty once), and I'm thinking of getting another - after all, I have a lot of games. Would there be any way to transfer game saves from the first one to the second XBOX if I got a new version?
@mangaas Okay the PS2 took a few years for the problems to go away. It took a few years for the 360 for the problems to get away(hopefully). Both Micro$oft and $ony make fuck ups. Its the fact that sony fanboys pretend like the fuck ups sony made never happened. I got my 360 fixed for free after 2.5 years I bought it, works perfect.
@Zlagie the past has shown us that a new designed console can help the sales (sega mega drive II, playstation 2 slim, playstation 3 slim, game boy with different colors) so it doesn't matter to you how your console looks but it matters for many other gamers...
new 360 is lookin good... would be nice if the rrod was gone now... I somehow think they would have said something if it was though... It depresses me that my 360 may die years after they are done being made and I have no way of getting a new one :( or no way of getting a new one easily

@lpfan2818 yes the PS3 is more powerful with a better processor but it is a waste of power because they still havent made games that can run the processor to the max. you guys still play the games developed for the 360 processor and it doesnt even push it.
@madman123456 i've been watching videos, and informations on the internet, and i found out the slim doesnt Overheat, and when it gets the RDOD the console goes off automaticly to cool off, and then comes back on, when "cold"

can you not connect kinect to one older model xbox360?. personaly actualy they could,ve made a xbox way much smaller cuzz it was huge,the xbox360 was,nt not huge and the new model is,nt much smaller.
Sorry dude, but old "classic games" suck. Pacman, Donkey Kong, all those games were cool when my grandparents were teenagers, but playing them today is about as fun as getting a labotomy.

I think that the new design is awesome, it comes with a HDMI port and Wifi integrated...i think that should come since the first model but i like that it have that now and looks cool. I dont know if it comes with bluetooth...but that will be awesome for bluetooth headsets :P .
@littledonno There's a transfer cable you can buy from microsoft for about 10$, that'll let you transfer your' content from the old HDD, to the new HDD.
well if you did not understand, i said wiiu the new gen console of nintendo, the wii is its predecesor which had some great and fun games and is well known by its motion controll. The wii did its job as a console for the family and its fun, while the *hardcore* gamers critisice it for its lack of graphics, but is praised by most gamers for its fun. I guess you dont know it cause the only games you play are probably minecraft, halo and cod
You know, why do people actually fight over consoles? The Wii U is the most powerful console out there, but is dwarfed by PCs. The PS3 has, I shit you not, 256 MB of RAM. The Xbox has 3 cores and 6 threads. The PS3 has 1 core and 7 threads. The PS3 does not use it's potential for graphics that don't even look different. *500 MHz for Xbox 360 graphics card, 550 for PS3". What the hell. I hate MS and Sony. Greedy bastards.
I've been debating about possibly getting this new xbox slim. I've had the older model xbox 360 since 2007 and it's never given me any problems through many hundreds of hours of gameplay and hundreds of games but I could use a 250GB hard drive. Plus the console is getting pretty long in the tooth. Not sure if it would be worth it though since the new xbox 720 is coming out in less than a year.
@woiboi567, I have both, lots of friends I gather with regularly...and family together as 1, were like one big giant family and were all hardcore gamers, we gather EVERY week and have loads of laughing, gaming, discussions, we party all the time, casually drink when the time is right and it's a super mature crowd...we are all like brothers to one another. So I have'nt missed a beat in life and know how to balance things out.
@gamecollect101 For some reason I have never had the RROD and treat my 360 console not to well. I bought the 360 elite back at the beginning of 2009 and use all the time. I have left it on for day's at a time (My internet is really slow so it takes a long time for DLC to download) and I don't exactly leave it in the coolest of spaces. (but I went through 4 of the original xboxes before I got one that worked). nice review Classic Game Room HD
@TheDezembro Unlikely. The old Xbox360 had the normal sized DVD drive right above the Heatsinks which where way too tiny. The RROD was the Result of the Heatsinks not being able to cool the inerts properly because the People who designed this where probably drunk or something. Even the Microsoft Fanboys will have to admit that the internal design is, to put it mildly, questionable.
