This game was one of the main reasons my mother bought an Intellivision back in the day because she said it looked better than the 2600 version, and she was so good at it that she barely lost any points from the rolling logs, and could beat the game after remembering the pattern of the underground maze like it was second nature. Thanks mark for bringing back the memories of playing games with my mother. :-)

I'd love to see more Intellivision reviews. Especially the Activision games. When I played Pitfall for the Atari 2600, I remember the instruction booklet saying the blue stuff was quicksand. But then again how do alligators swim in quicksand? And the black stuff was tar. Excellent review. I look forward to seeing more!

I used to play this all day on Atari 2600. Remembered the Sat morning cartoon. Also remembering hating those Intellivision commercials with George Plimpton dissing my beloved Atari.

Yay, another CLASSIC review. I played my 2600 from 1981 to 1988, so it's amazing that I never had this title. Also, I only saw ONE Intellivision "in the wild" in my lifetime.

i wish this game didnt have a timer. i remember playing it as a kid and always finding new areas i never seen before and then the game just abruptly ends for not reason :(

+John Square Same on my SEARS Super Video Arcade which is a better clone of the Intellivision model 1, I had an original Intellivision from early childhood, but the internal PSU fried the motherboard sadly, and I found the other one at a yard sale for $6 with a box of games.

John Square It was more common for me back in the 90's where people just wanted to get rid of old stuff at yard sales, and honestly overall did not think about what it was really worth, it was not till the late 90's/ early 00's when more people started to get internet service in their homes, and then started surfing eBay, and thought everything old was worth gold!

I played this version at a store once and it made me want to have it on the Atari. It was a pain playing it on the INTV cause you had to press the bottom fire button to get off the vine instead of just pulling down on the stick. Looking at Mark's gameplay, yeah I say the controller wasn't good for this game.

dad brought that console from Brasil and on my tv it was always black and white, guess it was because some pal issue? also using the ac adapter on my nes was a terrible idea, it burned my nes.

Beautiful, but always lock exposure on the camera on a calibration / "normal" screen. I love this game, but AD&D is better. Those sounds...

they made a 3D endless runner version of pitfall on mobile is way better and more challenging than this. U should have a look at it 😊
