I remember playing this as a kid. The chat rooms were almost more a part of it for me than the game itself. I remember having my first online girlfriend from it, ah to be young XD
This was the first game i got for my PSP back in 2005, so many memories and so much fun, been a huge fan of the franchise since twisted metal 2 on the ps1, i hope Sony brings back this franchise on the ps4 one day.
One of first two games i got for my original PSP. This and Tony Hawk Underground 2. I remember if you wanted to play against friends locally you could just load up your copy as local multiplayer host then take your copy out of the psp and put it into your friends psp, have them load up the game then search for your game via adhoc, connect, done. Did this and played 1 on 1 against a friend of mine. Allot of fun.
I a huge Twisted Metal fan having started with Black when I was younger, and I played this one in High School yet forgot about it over the years. Seeing it now brought back good memories, but it was the lack of sadistic and crazy cut scenes for the character's back stories that I missed so much. (I know that they were heavily toned down in Europe releases)
Actually there's 5 Twisted Metals on the PS1. I'm willing to bet Small Brawl is the one you're forgetting. Though, I'm not surprised, it got overshadowed by Black. Then again, you said this two years ago, so you could've very well found this out / gotten this in that amount of time.
I got this game and a PSP for my birthday when i was a kid! This must've been a launch title cause i got my PSP early on, i think lol......FUCK!!! I HAD AN AMAZING CHILDHOOD!!!
I loved this game playing it on my psp equalled hours of enjoyment. if there was ever a reason to purchase another PSP this game would do it for me. ah the the good old days
This is indeed a fun game on PSP. I had many enjoyable moments with Twisted Metal: Head On. Lucky that I found it on Gamestop. Finding good PSP games is pretty challenging here in Finland. That's quite sad, since I do like PSP, want to play with it & see what other games there are in that console.
One of the firs psp games I bought along with coded arms, However Vigilante 8 was the one i liked best, fount that Rough Trip way more fun than twisted metal.
i spent well over 150 hours playing this game alone while younger. I can say that multiplayer was meh because connecting was a bitch, probably because i never downloaded the psp updates..
Come on Mark we all know there is no value to New Jersey! U speak of something less likely than an alternate universe where the Neo-Geo is a mighty city of advanced aliens! I bet u would like to visit such a city!
Near as I can tell, this is only available for PSP, but I have a PSP, as well as every other TM, on discs. I just hate my PSP. I have at least 3 different Battlesfront for it, and I never play them. I regretted my PSP purchase 5 minutes into trying to play The Jacksons' "ABC," on Tiny Rock Band, or whatever it's called, at a time when Rock Band was my favorite game (with Lennon's guitar).I can't believe I'm conflicted about buying a Twisted Metal game. Twisted Metal 2, and my Nintendo days were over, until I got a Wii, so that I could go bowling and play golf, Tiger Golf, and Mario Kart. Twisted Metal 4, especially with over-time the intro, may be the best, except all the others but 3, which only sucked because of the controls. Still beat it with every character, but the PSP controls (especially the triggers) are horrible. So, as good as this game may be, unless I jump on Amazon or eBay and find it for $5, I think my PSP will be the odd system out. C'mon, be out there for under $5!
Sorry for the super late response, and I doubt you even care anymore, but Head-On was ported to the PS2, that version is called "Twisted Metal: Head-On Extra Twisted Edition"
