I have one that I use on a feedback loop using the VE, MX1, and either a camcorder or a bent video enhancer. If you can fine tune it and use the chroma/luma on the MX you can get some really nice rainbow trails out of it. I typically just mess around with the contrast, bright, and color until I get a smoother result. Pushed too far it turns into blocky mayhem pretty fast

nice! Yeah alot of the VE controls are really intense and can just blast your feedback to white or black with not in between.

Very cool, video. I bought one for cheap when I first started and it did not have the power supply. I wish someone smarter than me would make a diy psu. I'm glad you hit on the ridiculousness of it. Great gear overview.

totaly, the suply has 3 different voltages from memory, and the wild mini din connector, sadly not very generic/interchangible

@@catfullofghosts4478 exactly. Crazy din plug. Same results from my research.

Just looked at it, it is actuary only 2 voltages +/- 5v with super low ripple, but its the 5 pin asymmetric din plug thats the killer!!!!!

Thanks for uploading these videos GHOST! I’ve recently gotten into wanting to mess around with analog vjing and your channel is definitely an inspiration! Just ordered some gear to get started and currently bidding on an iPad 2 lol. Can’t wait for more uploads!:)

What are you using an ipad 2 for? And why the second ipad in specific

Just got one of these for £9 including postage, so thanks for the video, it explained everything really well. Sadly mine didn't come with a power supply so I'm going to have to jury-rig something together to see if it works!

how did you get on? I just got one without a power supply and learnt how rare the supply is
@warrantyvoid
@warrantyvoid 2 года назад
@@joebuddylisle Jesus, my comment was from NINE months ago! I have made a little progress. The difficult thing is generating the negative voltage, at a high enough current. Key search terms are "symmetrical power supply" and "dual power supply". There are some TPS5430 modules that look like they fit the bill.

@@joebuddylisle Hey Jo! Exact same story. Found the Equalizer quite cheap without a Power Supply. Did you guys find a solution? Would be very helpful, thank you!

Hello Cat full of GHOSTS, i been trying to replicate same effect using an edirol v8 but im not getting that rainbow trail in the feedback channel. COuld you help me to figure out why? when i go to feedback channel image ghstly dissapear but stays in black not a rainbow path like yours. Thanks
@sebastianvilarino1373

I solved it, in pal system is not giving me rainbow trails but in when i set the edirol to ntsc is giving the rainbow trail.
@catfullofghosts4478
@catfullofghosts4478 Год назад
@@sebastianvilarino1373 nice. yes there are a lot of little things about PAL vs NTSC format that can give you different results, the video source you are using can also be a factor

how did you get the feedback to go from left to right on the V4? Mine is always right to left
@mysticstylus
@mysticstylus 2 года назад
this comment’s a year old so you’ve maybe found a solution by now but i believe this can be adjusted within the V4 settings by playing with vertical and horizontal locate ranges under Utility. experimenting with PinP and its options on the feedback channel could also be useful for this.
@samuelguce

@mysticstylus
@mysticstylus 2 года назад
@@samuelguce happy to pass on useful info! I haven’t touched my v4 settings in a while to confirm, but if that doesn’t work then i guess the only explanation is that feedback must flow the opposite direction in Australia 🦘

you need to be a bit more specific, right adapter? do you man power adapter? video adapter? from what to what? from hdmi to the video equaliser?

@catfullofghosts4478
@catfullofghosts4478 3 года назад
@@tele_visiones that's a tough one, its kind of got to be one of the originals, because of the weird power plug and the multiple voltages that come out of the power supply.
