Yea that is extremely beat up. Mine doesn't look brand new by no means but it isn't all pitted up like that it's just dull and the color on the lettering is starting to disappear from wear and stuff and the insert isn't shiny like it should be it's full now but it's still my favorite putter I have been using it for years and years and years and I feel like it's broken like I have used a new Scotty Cameron Newport 2 tei that's in mint condition and never been played with and it felt different idk if it was because it wasn't mine and it was mental or if I really could feel a difference. Glad he did this now my Scotty Cameron is shinning bright like a diamond and brand new looking again, airplanes and traveling is rough on a set of clubs as well even if you have head covers on you know you don't always put them back on after each shot and just leave them off and they get banged around in golf cart off each other as well causes alot of wear over time.

@Turkeyfry100
@Turkeyfry100 2 месяца назад
A little about this putter, probably made after 1998 because Robert Bettinardi and Cameron split ways by then. The earlier version of this putter were milled so precise by Bettinardi that the insert did no show any white silicone on the face. So if you have an earlier version,( highly collectible), made by Bettinardi, Do not try this! You’ll never get the insert back in unless you heat the putter head and put the insert in liquid nitrogen. Also when you grind a putter like this you’re killing the precision weight of the club so it’s best to leave the original patina in place and just treat the rust with a natural oil.

I've done hundreds of restores. I understand your concerns, but I do what the customers wants for their putters, and I have never received any type of quality complaints. This particular putter the customer reached out much later to thank me again. I appreciate that very much, and it turned out great.
@jbplays7302
@jbplays7302 13 часов назад
@@igolf906 It should be the customer choice of what's most important to them. If they want all of the pitting completely gone, or would they rather tolerate some dings and pitting still showing, and have less material removed... I would have chosen to have less material taken off, and just realized that some of the deeper scratches and pitting is to be expected. But it was a nice refinish!

Thank you. I totally get it. Swaying from the original finish on a classic like this but I'll tell you what, black oxide finishes are just not ideal. Doesn't matter how well you take care of it, if you're gaming it, eventually it will rust. Cerakote 100% prevents that, and your putter will last forever as long as you use a headcover. 😉

On another channel, the guy weighed the head before and after and there was 7 grams of weight removed from the head in the grinding process. Others doing a similar restoration may wish to consider adding some head weight to the putter shaft hosel to compensate for this difference and to restore the original swingweight of the putter.

@bullwinklemoose8291 3 месяца назад
@@shmirginhymer1867 hey wise-n-heimer. It's irrelevant what you or I can actually feel in our hands. What's relevant when performing a legit restoration is caring about the details. It's VERY easy to weigh the clubhead and compensate for weightloss to retain the original swingweight of the golf club, especially if you're restoring a $400 or $500 Scotty. This terylium that was restored in the video are going for $500 to $700 on ebay. That said, two grams changes a club one swingweight point. 10 to 15 grams would change a clubs swingweight a full 5 to 7 points. I've played scratch for 30 years and now that I'm 65, I've gone up to a 3...I 100% guarantee you if my clubs went from D1 to D8 I would know in one or two swings. The putter's swingweight is even more important to the feel of the club and I would absolutely want 1 or 2 swingweight points retained in my putterhead, especially if I cared enough to restore a Scotty back to as-new condition.

First one of your putters i was disappointed in. Not because of workmanship but because that putter,above any other, needed to be back to original. Proper shaft, proper grip, proper paint fill colors. Cerakote was OK as the factory finish wasnt real durable and still maintained the original look. Jmho. Great work, just a bit too "custom" for this iconic and rare of a putter.

Sad...you couldn't fix the word titlist ion the heel. Engrave deeper? I think it looks very unfinished and disappointing.

Understanding how bad of shape this putter was. The pitting was extremely deep. In order to get all the nicks and dings out, some of the stamping sometimes will get a little shallow. There's nothing you can do about it. Good thing the owner was extremely happy with how his putter turned out. Considering it was more than likely sitting in a garage somewhere for 20+ years.

Disappointing? 😅😅 So you would rather have it in its original shape? You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. Also, good luck finding someone to replicate the factory engraving. Not only would it not look right, it would cost $100s to get done.

Do you sell these restored clubs somewhere? I’m interested if you have a online store or eBay store????

I don't have a store no. And I don't really sell clubs too often. These are all customer clubs sent in.
