Hey guys, finally we made this video in less than 1 week, now I can take a shower and relax. With quick long videos being released shortly there will be some mistakes, at minute 4:32 the bloodvine set will have chest instead of googles. Thanks for the understanding :)
Found your channel today. Instant sub from me. Whenever possible, please consider getting yourself pop filter/shield. Otherwise, great job so far. Many people, including myself are liking your content as we're all hungry for vanilla. Btw, what was your character name of Nostralius?
@@gazhel you think that will help with the lipsmacking? Cuz i have a cheap DSLR michrophone, so i have to tunr mic up to 100% and after that to enhance the audio in audacity which makes the lipsmack audible. Think I need new mic.
@@Frostadamus that's probably what the issue is. Your videos are really high quality. Really high. So a better microphone with a pop filter should really help you out. I don't do any recording so I'm only going on from what I've read. A good investment I think.
you didn't mention the issue with tribal being cross faction "cheaters" cornering the devilsaur mats with the gold farming skinning toons. on some private servers you simply cannot farm for devilsaur and would be forced to pay retarded prices to make the devilsaur armour. I would go dragonscale and try and farm devilsaur for gold if there is no mafia in the way and craft the easier to get mats to sell dragonscale armour. you realy only need skinning to make money with devilsaur, crafting it just reduces the return on populated servers with organized cross faction farmers
@namespace std there actually a lot that changed to professions overall such as engineering schematics that were removed due to their low level and the removal of materials required to make them, because they material overall was trash loot that was quite abundant on specific mobs.
Started listening to this expecting to be another rough guide explaining the absolute basics... turns out it's one of the most informative and useful crafting guides I've ever seen, from someone who REALLY knows their stuff. And you have a fantastic easy-to-listen-to voice. Superb content. Looking forward to what else you can produce for Classic.
I loved leveling multiple toons at once, all with complimentary professions. I would just make and send things to other toons as needed. I felt entirely self-sufficient. It was great. So rewarding.
Ryan G ; oh good i'm not the only one who went that route! So stoked to try it again, this time with more knowledge, but less help from my LW warrior son. (he doesn't play anymore no time for it - he's in the Navy so I,ll be on own this time.- I am trying to talk my hubby into playing with me though, even if I have to slow down for him. :)
@@vitstiber9414 Gothic 3 was AWFUL lol To each their own, but it was such a buggy mess - I don't think I've ever been so disappointed by a Day 1 purchase. They dumbed down the combat system, the RPG elements, and the story
@@MT-zb7eg Totally agree with you, In my opinion G2 notr is the best experience (big world etc) but G1 is more dark and just more epic story and it was also my first Gothic when i was like 10 lol and i quickly fell in love with that game. Well they had to release Gothic 3 because of the publishers, they needed like 1 more year. But even still, you could already see that they took away a lot from what made gothic so unique.
@@vitstiber9414 I forgot about that element of the situation with the publisher forcing their hand. G2 was my favorite for the combat, world map, hidden areas, and the depth within the 'classes'. G1 had the much more solid story. It was engrossing.
Frostadamus! My dude! What a perfect video in every aspect! Please keep making these as I really think that your videos provide some of the best Wow Vanilla information on RU-vid! Thank you!
I love the way you started with "not everone playing WoW will be in a rush to max level" So true.....thats what made vanilla great. It wasn't all about end game raiding. 😎👍
I have played classic servers for years and none of the stuff of your guide videos (since the target group is more likely classic newcomers) is really new to me ... But I still watch all of them, because your way of presentation, music and a strangely pleasant voice just make them extremely enjoyable to watch/listen to :) By far my favourite Classic content creator, keep up the good work mate :)
19:03 50 dkp minus!! 🤣 So far this video series is really great and informative even though I mostly just listen to the audio while at work with headphones
Back in vanilla I used to get people everyday sending me high end mats and gold to craft them recipes I had, was a very trustworthy person on the server and everybody knew it! Was such a great feeling, can't wait to have that again
One tailoring pattern that I think should be also mentioned since it can make you nice amount of gold while leveling up, especially on horde side, is the Robes of Arcana, only two types of mobs in the whole game drop it, and both are in alliance areas, and every warlock needs one for their enchanted gold bloodrobe quest.
Much Respect to you Frost for taking the time and creating the best videos out there on this game. I hope that you continue to make great content as time goes on, Thank you!
Hey thanks. I'm looking to create a new series of videos , short-guides -> 2 - 3 minutes each, giving detailed examples on how to make gold: spots, professions, tips, tricks an so on. I was thinking for a name for the series. So far I've got. Roads to Richess The Pursuit of Gold.
Nice video. Every since starting on Kronos I cant stop watching all these classic videos! I used to play vanilla back then but I was a kid not knowing anything about the game, only doing pvp..lol
Your channel has some serious high quality stuff. Many other "Vanilla experts" have videos that just show some static text they read out aloud...so boring compared to this format.
I used to have dragonscale leatherworking, and you can farm those scales quite easy outside dungeons to. I remember getting some serious cash on my hunter.
isn't that kinda dumb though? That would mean the keys are overpriced. Or is it because of the potential of awesome stuff inside that this is the case?
In chest you often get at least one valuable in a form of green. Said item alone will cover the cost of opening chest. For example, I got a green rifle out of last chest. Said rifle sold for almost 1 gold at a vendor as all weapons tend to be well priced. For making two keys I needed truesilver bar which you can get for 20 s and one grinding stone which you do not even need to count because as a blacksmither you will use them in far greater quantities. So, it is roughly 30 silver for 2 keys. It costs 15 silver for opening one chest which can often yield you 1 gold in value. The real issue is that people do not understand that blacksmither is not obliged to open their chests for them. They roll greedily on chests and feel entitled to treasure inside merely because they won a roll. It happened yesterday in Uldaman to me. So I merely ignored rolls and asked if anyone is capable of opening said chest. Nobody could so, out of frustration I kept my mouth shut and went further into dungeon. Then we had finished instance, I went back and took the chest for myself.
This is more of a question than an anecdote, I had this Guild / Raidlead once who, as a Warrior had maxed out Tailoring and farmed the Golems in Un Goro Crater for the Green whatever Stones and with that he claimed to make 2-5k Gold a week. With ~20 Hours of getting all Mats together for the craftable Tailoring Epics. I realize that this is server dependent and all, but could this be done? Because that even streched over a month or two is still a damn fortune.
The stones from the guardians have very unreliable market fluctuations. Sometimes you'll sell 10 for 100 gold, the very next week maybe for 30 gold. I guess this was possible in the past due to lack of knowledge, it might still be viable in upcoming classic but soon crash as people already know these methods.
Love your content vor Classic WoW, even tho I'm just playing on a private server. gives me some great new looks on how to play the game early levels. Keep uyp the good work!
i used to spend all my time crafting stuff and selling it, love that so much that i stopped leveling at level 25 just to do that haha people were like "what are you doing??? just level up" then i started leveling up but i loved the professions more than anything,
Slight correction: 3rd Bloodvine set piece is the vest (Chest). The head piece is from engineering. ;) This unfortunatly devalues the DPS robes, since you have to give it up, to get the Bloodvine set bonus.
I don’t know if anyone will see this but why would you put enchanting on a bank alt. How would you actually enchant the gear of your main? Enchanting vellum wasn’t a thing till wrath
You mentioned best in slot gear for tailoring but not for leatherworking, is there any BoP BiS gear in leather? I'm making the mistake of choosing a Balance Druid so I'm really trying to research this stuff...
I feel like you are my brother in some oddly strange exaltation, vicariously. I'm from North Sweden and have a very strong accent like you, I pronounce almost everything the way you do.
Hehe, I'm from Romania. Latin language. Trying to shape my accent to a mid english-american one. Takes alot of time, but eventually i'll be successful.
Hey Frost ! I have two questions i wish you answer them ! So What is the best professions for Druid in general ? And for Feral Druid to be more specific ?
I love the intro. Music bit must be from Gothic, right? God I had so much fun in my early days of gaming playing the Gothic series. Also glad I found your channel.
Is it okay to take skinning, herbalism, or mining when planning to mainly focus on dungeon grinding during the 1-60 leveling proces? Can you give examples of where you can level these in dungeons? Thanks man, love the videos
I was planning to play a hunter and have skinning and LW and was just going to make gear for myself and friends but i can not remember how much mail items are at higher LW and how much mail black smiths have
So what should I go as a rogue, leather working seems meh for personnal uses and so is blacksmithing. Should I just be lveling farm profession as mining/herbalism?
"How do you know all this is true?" says the retail player. "Because I play vanilla wow private servers, and this is what years of experience playing it has come to." says the veteran private vanilla wow player. I play Lightbringers Northdale private server, level 60 alliance raiding rogue named Vauwn. And this is all true. I love the meta that the veteran vanilla wow players have created.
And then they come and say "hurrrr durrr, private servers are shit and cannot be used as comparison", even though Northdale works arguably better than retail back in the days. Comparing Blizzard's buggy as fuck vanilla with +10 years of private server emulation and bug fixes.
I'm leveling a warlock and a priest during classic. My Warlock will have skinning for gold and herbalism. On my priest ill have Alchemy and Tailoring. I'll make Truefaith Vestments and when ZG hits i'll make Bloodvine for my warlock. It's self sufficient and i'll have lots of opportunities to make gold.
Frost, im thinking about leveling tailor so i can depend on myself for my own bags at the launch of classic. My question is do you think there will be bag shortages and or overpriced bags?
Frost, do you consider it to be wise starting out with 2 gathering professions (e.g. herbalism and skinning) and then switching to one of these professions that fits your class?
I wonder how viable it is to start out with mining and blacksmithing and then drop mining and get engineering instead later in the game once I have been established and have a steady supply of materials from the market? Back in 2005 I was one of the first to get 1000G on my EU server just by trading and monopolizing the cloth market. Was really fun.
if you drop mining and take engineering you need to have gold because these profession are hungry. Either you grind like a maniac or you play the auction house. But I hope you know what you're doing.
Alright thanks. I like playing the auction house, so I'll give that a try. Perhaps I'll only drop mining after I'm sure I have a stable income from the AH though.
Ah Classic Professions. When professions actually meant something. Often the best value levelling gear was profession gear unless you got very lucky with a drop. The best potions while levelling were profession potions. Some of the best achievements and achievement rewards were profession related (X faction mounts for cloth hand ins anyone?) The best enchants, the best utility items from engineers. Things that added value, saved time and were seamlessly integrated into the games core mechanics. IMO (humble)opinion legacy, heirloom gear should be bound per character (not per account) and created by professions. Most of the levelling process in terms of weapons, armour and consumables should be profession gear. Normal mob drops should be Ok get you through levelling decent and scaled to level. But if you want to hammer through levelling like a boss, then either the lucky Blue drop (which could be BiS for its level)- or the more consistently reliable professions. So best is dropped blue (very rare - unlikely to have more than one at any point during the levelling process unless you buy one for a ton of gold at the AH) next is profession gear - reliable, above the curve levelling equipment with good stats, next is normal drop greens and whites, they get the job done but most players will want to improve on them in some way. Hang on though. That's more or less how it was in Classic? IMO Classic got it exactly right. Retail in late 2018? I have no idea what professions offer most players. Nothing? A casual time wasting exercise? Plenty of players in my retail guild (all of which have unsubbed till 8.1 BTW) never even touch professions. Both profession slots just sat there empty despite some of the toons they are playing being at max level for years. End game - past your initial set, sure, all BiS is raid and dungeon drops, that's the way it has to be. But while levelling crafting and gathering should be absolutely the most consistent way to stay slightly above the curve. Then there is player housing. The one decent thing they added in Draenor, which become completely pointless one expansion later. Crafting should provide utility and vanity items for your stronghold. But for that to work the idea of player housing needs to have been updated each expansion. 2 years after Draenor dropped, player housing was dropped. What the hell was the point of that? If Blizz wanted to add microtransactions to WoW wouldn't vanity items for player housing/strongholds have been a good way to do it? Didn't they just have a great idea for them and the players then ditch it less than 2 years later? Blizzard keep putting in decent game mechanics that a game like this needs, crafting, housing. Then dropping them 1 or 2 expansions later or just paying them lip service
What are you playing all of this vanilla gameplay on?? Private server right err? Which one if so? Or is this like older footage from Nost before the CAD? :o if you're allowed to say? Or can you message me if not please? Tankss ^_^ 👌 👍 👊 😁
Edit: NVM, you addressed this issue.... @4:38 you goofed up the Bloodvine garb. The googles are an engineering crafted item and *NOT* part of the tailoring set. The text on the images you posted should have tipped you off. The Bloodvine garb set includes Bloodvine Vest, Leggings anf boots. classic.wowhead.com/item-set=421/bloodvine-garb
