This video was so much fun to make. Thanks for the support and thank you for watching our videos. For more information about where you can aquire all the alchemy recipes in vanilla make sure to check my discord under the world of warcraft tab. -> discord.gg/pbXy9ws
Alchemy in vanilla was great for leveling, you could have multiple elixirs active at once which increased survivebility and always having access to healing potions was a great bonus as well.
Frost please cover everything vanilla I don't care what other content creators post the quality and effort that goes into your videos is just 10\10 your legit like the vanilla god. Also will be super interested in what race / class combo your gonna be rolling for retail vanilla and if you could explain why you'll level that class first ect ... Maybe a video idea for you there 👍🏻❤️
Thanks Pandrax, Well, I was thinking to roll Warrior or Mage. Warrior because I want to tank and pvp and mage because I can grind gold easy. But I was thinking about hunter also =) Tbh, I don't know :E
Alchemy is pretty sensitive to market changes, even live. Here's my tips for making gold in alchemy: 1. Make sure people know your name for xmutes and rare crafts. Advertise in channels and on the realm forums often. Once you have people who build a relationship with you, your income will be most consistent as people will gravitate to people they know that are more expensive than slightly cheaper people who they don't know. 2. Price things on the AH competitively, even if it loses you money. "making gold" from selling should not cross your mind as odd as it sounds. You sell at the price that maximizes revenue. Once you have an idea what the price is, decide whether to make the thing or not from the get go. You make profit by crafting profitable things, not by selling them. If you lose money from selling something, think of that as paying to have information that you made a bad call and use that information in the future. This process is best when a market changes slowly e.g. once a raid tier has been out two weeks. 3. Diversity is your strength in this regard. Fill as many niches as you can and have one or two items that will ALWAYS be in demand. You may not be as productive in one niche as dedicated people, but you are more flexible than they are when a market runs dry either temporarily or permanently. 4. Stock up on herbs on certain days. Herb prices change cyclically every week. Some days they peak, and others they drop. This is also important to keep track of when considering average buy and sell prices as you can influence those averages for the better on certain days instead of haphazardly 5. Do whatever shit you can pull to break up mafias and cartels. This is a demand driven economy. Anything that helps the buyers with cheaper prices puts more money in their pocket to do other things. Independent actors also make the average more stable, whereas correlated groups (such as mafias and cartels) make the prices more chaotic because of political whims. I would personally recommend undercutting these actors and simply remaining independent despite their promises. It is in the best interest of the mafia to make you dependent on them and whatever trickle of resources they "allow" you to farm. This is why I try helping people be better at economics; giving me more competition helps me git gud, do something I'm better at, or get me better prices. But what do I know? Go and make a Devilsaur cartel because this is an mmorpg. Go murder and pillage people in null sec. It's a game; don't take advice so seriously.
Your soothing voice is so clear, loud, and intelligible in this video. It's so easy to hear you watching on my phone. Looking forward to your channel booming on Classic release - it really is top tier content.
Thanks Hal337, I've been trying to up the quality of the voice audio for some time now. Now it's louder but you can hear some lip smack and so on. That's because I'm keeping the microphone to close to the mouth, after that I have to enchance the audio in audacity but only to increase the 'other' noises aswell. Guess I gotta buy a new microphone and soundproof the room :E
@@Frostadamus Oh yeah the way I do it is level as skinning/herb, mail all herbs to bank alts and at 60 swap skinning for alch and powerlevel it with all the stocked up herbs, I'm so ready to make bank with alchemy
don't forget - usually the best items in crafting (from engineering to leather---plate armor, weapon maker et al) the items were bop; so an alt crafter does little benefit.
Hey Frost very useful video, and a nice explanation how the people way to get all recipes back in vanilla, hope in summer everyone's get back in classic, cose is the most awesome expansion on earth, together with tbc /wave
I don’t know what it will be like on Classic, but on private servers, no one uses elixir of brute force because it doesn’t stack with elixir of the mongoose. I paid a lot for the recipe as a completionist, but never had any demand for it.
a generel video for the factions would be nice. what are the pros for farming each factions reputation. especially in classic i think farming rep is a pain and time consuming. so i would like to on how to farm them effinciently and which one i should prioritize. ps.: great vid as usually and i finally subbed ;) keep it up
Hey Frostadamus, i am from Romania Brașov can You Tell me were i find trainer from 150-225 alchemy? I was find 225 to 300 but I don t know we're is trainer for 150-225. Thank you.
I know it is a profession video and not a guide, but would you mind answering a simple question please? Can bosses be frozen? So for a frost mage to get bonus crit damage it requires the target to be frozen. Are bosses susceptible to this status effect? Are all bosses? Or is there some bosses with immunity?
Bosses are immune to chilling effects such as slows and frost novas. So Mages do not get the extra crit bonus on that. But there is a talent deep into the frost tree called Winter's chill. One mage in the raid has to spec into it for all raid to benefit for 10% extra crit for frost spells.
@@hugosmith6776 I was not asking about the actual cc effects, but if the status effect could be applied, for the benefits in the focus tree on damaging frozen targets.
Great vid, Frost! One alchemy question: do you know if a rogue / cat can stealth their way to the alchemy lab in Scholo without aggroing Ras? I feel like Ras's spawn point is far enough away from the lab table that one could be in there without having to kill him first. Thoughts?
engineering is definitely the most fun profession. I'm so confused on what I will pick for classic. Even if I make mi choice now, I might change my mind until release :))
can not wait for the 2 other parts, GREAT WORK hmm ... Do you think WoW Classic will add in that Pet collector window ? gathering pets in vanilla always was just a giant waste of valuable space ... at least for me
it all depends on the class for me, i usually play warrior/rogue, for the warrior while leveling i go skinning/mining(sell the skins for the much needed cash and keep the ore to level bs at 60) and the rogue is herb/alch. for the buffs from the elixirs since the rogue doesnt have any buffs of their own and like the video says the potions are almost always in demand.
Do we know if servers are going to be named identically to back in the day? Curious how many of the people we all knew & didn't keep in touch with we might run into again. I intend to grab my old name, and really hope some passerby will be shocked.
Would you guys recommend alchemy on a low lvl alt or on main? Thinking about the dng you need to go to to craft and get certain recipies etc, and leveling a high lvl alt atm isn't really for me. However it means i have to unlearn Ench 248 :/
pr1ME, old addons won't work on classic wow. Maybe some fans will develop addons during the beta period. I will make a pack at launch with what will be available :D
Hi, I am trying discord but it says it expired. Can we please have the full list about where to get all the vanilla recipes? Thanks a lot, i m watching this again and again
So at the end your saying for more casual player just go mining and herb and sell the mats instead of going for recipes mainly? Thanks for your knowledge!
Question for you Frost: Would you say Alchemy is a perfect profession for a bank alt? Do you see any downsides to having it on a lvl 5 bank alt? Aka any valuable bind on pickup recipes? -much appreciated
Can you refresh my memory is in vanilla alchemy any specs? potion elixir etc? with proc chance or Blizz add this is TBC? im asking cause i never had alchemy in classic
ok :D i think that before wow classic launched i should spend some time on private server to refresh my memory, i have never tried private servers and classic was so many years and changes ago that i don't remember to much
wasn't sure if i wanted to go with tailoring or alchemy, both look interesting but i think alchemy with be more fun with all those recipes to collect! thanks for your video
Would you get banned if you made another account for 10 extra character slots, got them all to alchemy for transmute and had 10 transmutes for farming, and then traded all your gold to your other account with your playing characters?
I'm going Herb/Alchemist because I will be a Protection Warrior and I need the consumables! Later on I will propably have an alt with Herbalism/Mining and drop Herbalism on my Warrior in favor for Engineering
Something just bugs me: If Alchemy is so worthwhile then shouldn't there be an oversaturation of elixirs and potions on the market, thus reducing their value? Wouldn't it be more profitable to choose a different profession instead?
that's why you want to go for the rare recipes. Professions are profitable depending on your second skill and the amount and quality of recipes you have. If you get for example: the 30 spell power enchant recipe from molten core first on server, enchanting will be the most profitable profession because every guild will come to you to get their enchant. And imagine asking 50 gold fee from hundreds of people :P
@@Frostadamus That's kinda obvious, duh. Should've thought about that. Thanks for answering my simple question though! I will become the alchemy master and catch all 150 recipes then :P
prot warr, I guess you're mainly interested in PVE. Alchemy should be a good call. But if you're the main tank or officer in a guild and you can get priority on rare recipes such as Lionheart helmet or titanic leggins, blacksmith is a good call.
Hey Frost! Love your videos. Could you make a vid about making cash from DE? whats worth DE and what is not? what do you get from DE stuff that is xx level and what are the items worth?
@@Frostadamus thats great if you ever have time to finish it. There are many videos of how to make gold, but i have not found anyone about disenchanting. The vids only tell you that its smart to do.
frost i have been watching you a long time now how come you did not do a vid for like over 3 months before this set of vids? i was sooo waiting for the vids to come one point i was thinking you were dead :(
great vid as always frost. Anyone think it's crazy to go alchemy/herbalism as a rogue? I feel like i should be doing engineering/mining, but i sorta dig alchemy.
dude, Frost, you really have to learn how to say "WOW." i mean i love your channel and the classic WoW videos that you make, and i really don't care that you have an accent, and pretty much everything you say is understandable. but i think at the very least you should learn how to pronounce the game that you cover in your channel properly. you're butchering the name everytime you say it lol. i honestly don't mean any offense either, and realize that english is probably not your first language. but yeah, its pronounced "WOW", not "WOAH"
@@Frostadamus i still don't see why you can't start saying it properly. its not too late lol. bet there's a large portion of your fanbase that would prefer that you say it "wow". maybe even the majority. i cringe a little bit everytime you say it lol. i saw you say in one of your previous videos that you want to better your english. why not start with the very word/title/focus of all of your videos?
Sonja lol thank you. That would be awesome. I'm sure a lot of his viewers would like that. Much love to the both of you, love his videos! Summer can't come early enough!
