As a testimony to this, I did this on my karmann ghia (fancy looking bug) and had AMAZING results with layering the luggage compartment 3 times over (because it is so cheap). It made an astounding difference. Before it felt like my motor was an inch behind my ear when cruising but now it really feels like the engine is in a separate compartment! Roll up my windows and it is about as loud as a typical 90s, 00s car. I also bought a roll of "all purpose flashing" (about the same as quick roof) in a 9 inch x 50 foot roll for 30 bucks at lowes. I am going to put it in my doors and quarter panels (and floor and front foot well wall if I have extra) and I will tell yall how it goes. Cheers!
Hello, Chris!Just saw this and wanted to say you are spot on about the difference between the Cofair product and the other... just wish I had seen this sooner. After being surprised I could not find Quick Roof at Home Depot I got the other... it's been one week, had the car out on the drive only one day (90F, btw) and I have just ordered Cofair's Peel and Seal on Lowes to pick up on the way home because the other product is coming off the door. Used Cofair Quick Roof brand before with no issues, so I am very grateful to you for pointing out Peel and Seal is the same product and maker! Love what you are doing with your videos, have learned so much from you!

Hey Chris and others I've experienced that u seal an when it gets over 90 degrees it smells like battery acids, so don't buy it you live in hot climate, it's also the Same price as the aluminium foil backing,
Just curious Chris.....at 4:07 in the video is a picture with the wheels shown behind you. On this car am I seeing a white smoothie with a trim ring and Koker white walls or is it a chrome rim smoothie that has had white painted on it? They're beautiful and I was just curious. How does it compare to “Noico” product. I bought it on amazon for 60 bucks, i got about 7 large sheets. So far, i covered the ceiling, rear cargo/eng compartment, rear wheel arcs, both doors, and front kick panel area of my Ghia. I still have 1 full sheet left. Im gonna cut it in half, and apply to floor boards.
I haven't yet heard anything about the 'bean bags' that are stuffed into the space near the roof where the wires run from the engine compartment to the front of the car. While working on my '65, I accidentally had one of these fall out from the firewall. I picked it up and said to myself, "What in the h___ is this ?!?! Not knowing anything at that time, I just threw it in the trash. I had NO idea. It turns out they were placed there for SOUND DEADENING from the engine compartment. Without them, my VW sounded like a 747 on the tarmac ! Do any of the aftermarket suppliers sell them ? They might just do more good than all the sound deadening material I might care to add....
@@manningcustom Yes mine are flexible that we sell, you can bend them into position. It is better to do with the engine out, but with mine they can go in with the engine in.

Thanks for the great detail in your videos I was just about to buy another roll and do the roof but I think you're right it would most likely not hold up well in the Tennessee heat of the summer. Works perfect in Arizona, done custom cars, even on the roof, hot rods to bass cars, the Home Depot stuff also works fine, great video keep up the good work
