It is so strange that Classical musicians never even thought to add drums to their ensembles. (Except Overture of 1812, but does that even count with cannon fire being its only "drum" instrument?)

The overture of 1812 calls for actual cannons! But there are drums in classical music, but not in the same use as with modern pop music

Orphée aux Enfers or "Can Can" is actually from the Romantic Era. But people still consider it classical. it is also only a small part of an hour+ long operetta. I recommend y'all give it a listen good score.

hystericaldominolego mars actually isn't classical being released by Gustavo holst in the planets suite, written between 1914-1916. The classical era was from around 1750-1820.
