@@randomperson-oe8ffIs it because Hungary at the time was with Austria (the Austro-Hungary empire)? Like how Polish people like Maria Sklodowska (Marie Curie) were forced to use Russian because Russia invaded them. Out of subject, but I’ve heard from my friend that Liszt’s first name (Franz) actually should be “Ferenc” (forgive my spelling), am I right?
@@randomperson-oe8ffhis native language was actually German. He didn't know Hungarian, and he never learned it save for a few words and phrases when he was old. Sure it's his ethnicity, but it can't be his native language if he didn't know it.
@@karntherandom1125It is. There were attempts by Austria-Hungary's government to forcibly assimilate Hungarians, which is why Liszt wouldn't have had any access to Hungarian as a kid.
They captured Mozart and Beethoven's personalities really well, and Chopin is kinda on the fence between alike and weird. Same with Liszt. But I'm not sure Schubert was really this over-the-top??? I like how they took great composers and sort of depicted them on how they may be if they lived now and not then. But with a little magic. One thing I don't like is they put Pop music in there, like, guys, it's CLASSICALoid. They're classical composers!!! It's weird they made Dvorak a hippo. Also, I'm surprised they didn't make Brahms or Vivaldi, or even Stravinsky. Stravinsky in this style would be intriguing to see.
Also It's Called ClassicaLOID the last part like in Vocaloid do put an accent on the cyborg-like part of the characters~ A Happy anime Who Is based on composers and Classical music, it never said to Want to be a serious anime about Classical music like a Nodame Cantabile or similar. I've enjoyed It as a Classical music fan Over that they've have produced 2 kinds of CDs, Ones with the "Muzik traks" so the re-interpretated and others with a more serious/studio recording production of the Classical Pieces used as base of 'em.
as much as i love the main crew's transformations, mine has to be bach's, i love how he sounds so self confident and sure of himself when he releases his musik :P
@@beasnoil3139 its goddamn countries personified as anime bois and a few girls. And this is on par with the weirdness. The writers must have been on cocaine and horny at the same time
i may have a theory in mind probably bc in the past, Tchaikovsky is attracted to men and Liszt is kinda-you could say can easily attract women with those characteristics, there are less risk of genderbending the characters without changing their personality too much. But thts how i view it, i might be wrong
I remember Mozart complaining to Lizst about it (he also wanted to have a female body). I think it was somewhat explained in later episodes (near the end?). Might have to rewatch.
This is much better than that half baked reverse harem. Classicaloid accurately explains the history of classical music and the composers. Classi9 turned them into angsty teenagers that needed to be saved by a crossdressing girl and the story feels like something that failed to be an otome game. Classicaloid may seem absurd but the classical composers actually were. Mozart was a vulgar philanthropist and Litzs had fangirls steal his clothing. And the plot of it, somehow, actually makes sense.
Queen Chelsea I think they did, I noticed it sounded very Vocaloid-like. I'm not sure which one (At the time this show came out, there were already so many Vocaloids, I lost track of them)
@@jadelh5 I looked it up yesterday and we were right, they used a vocaloid! It's Galaco. I'm not a big fan of her but I think it's very cool that they used Vocaloid in an anime :)
As a classical musician, I find it wonderful that people from many different fandoms can learn to enjoy classical music, but this anime (let alone fandom!) is not only disrespectful to the composers, but the anime treats them as fictional characters, this anime literally features Dvorak, my favorite composer, as a hippo. There is no respect here at all and I'm sure the composers wouldn't have wanted this, and to not only point out the fact that they were real people, not just characters from an anime to play around with, but this is also mostly directed at the ill-informed fandom who ship the composers ex: 'MozartxBeethoven'. This is wrong and disrespectful of so many accounts, seeing as they are real people and it is an invasion of privacy. Thanks for coming to my Ted-Talk.
You definitely didn't watch the anime all the way through. The classicaloid's aren't the composers themselves. The were man-made weapons that were originally empty husks. Otowa-hakase sort of explains that they seem to have absorbed feelings of the music played to them. He also says that Dvorak being a hippo was an accident for this reason. This is with the assumption that music and instruments carries memories and feelings. It is even shown when Kanae's grandmother showed up in ep 1. Also, how would you know the composers wouldn't approve. The anime specifically chose the non-conservative musicians. They did research into their lives. Even the weird parts, like Mozart liking vulgar looking foods, Dvorak liking trains, or Liszt breaking piano's. And from what I've read about them and they were really open-minded. Dvorak in particular valued innovation. And Mozart would love this character, after all, he was known for being free spirited.
