I’m strangely relieved to have your routine videos back. Something about watching you put keys in the lock, your feet walking to your car, and turning on your classroom lights is oddly satisfying. Sort of like watching cakes getting frosted; rather mesmerizing. Ok I sound crazy but really, I’m so happy that your classroom videos are back! Your content is 👌🏼.

I’m so excited for the classroom vlogs to come back! It’s so funny to me that I love your videos so much. I have zero desire to be a teacher or do any work with kids, but I admire the profession so much and it warms my heart to see how much you care about your job and your students. You totally made my teacher heart so so happy by telling us that you are updating your library labels and making them editable!! I know that sounds so lame, but it did really make my day because I absolutely love your library labels. I love your organization as well because the way you organize is how I like to organize as well. Cluttered cabinets and workspaces drive me crazy. Your subtle changes in this year's classroom setup are looking really nice and I hope you are having a fabulous start to your school year!!

I love this! It is really gonna help to pursue my teaching dream when I get older! I'm only going into 6th grade in Sep. but I've wanted to be a teacher since I was in kindergarten. Every teacher I've had has been super bright and supporting with it! I remember when i was in school my teachers didn't decorate their rooms at all so it's super cool to see you doing this. I wonder if it was my school's policy back in the 90's and 00's that they couldn't or if they simply didn't have the money. (Very poor area and school) I would have loved coming into a class room that was decorated and colorful instead of white like a hospital. I'm a visual learner as well and so even now i color code everything down to my lists for grocery shopping LOL keeps me sane and organized.

I was going to say the same thing. Everything I do in my room comes straight out of my own pocket. I decorate my room to be "home away from home" because when I went to school it felt sterile/institutional. I was a timid child and school seemed scary - the institutional vibe did nothing to help it. Even though it comes out of my own pocket - its worth it. My students are low-income and SpEd - they usually get the leftovers and the 'broken crayons/scissors" ..... my goal has been to make their school room to be something the others wish they could be a part of - so for once, they are a little envied rather than pitied.

Skallia Ray I grew up in a low income area thou I didn’t know it back in the 60s/70s! Roma has what they needed and I loved it! My kid and siblings kids went to school in the 90s/00s and classes looked like theses in the video

The mandated schedule cards sounds like what meddling school board bureaucracy does to make them feel as if they affecting change. If it gives the same information let the teachers put their own creative spark on it.

Besides a fellow teacher, no one can really appreciate how much work it takes to do this every year. You need at least two weeks. Many of us go to the school earlier (without pay) to get our classrooms ready, even on Saturday and Sunday. If you wait for the week before, when it's mandatory to report, you won't get anything done as you would be tied up with faculty meetings, back to school procedures meetings, departmental meetings, grade level meetings, team meetings, and meetings about meetings...😁. The district may even throw in a last minute PD, out of the school site, for some novel adoption. Overwhelming! 😵 Teachers are exhausted by the time they open their doors to receive students on that first day.

Beautiful classroom as always and I love all the rainbow colors! It’s funny, even though I’m doing a Harry Potter theme decoration this year, I’m still keeping my rainbow colors so call it a “Colorful Harry Potter” theme LOL 😂! That was one of the things I did as a volunteer parent in a junior school in the U.K. I have noticed a rise in delayed development in children. So I was asked laminate 2500 flash cards for children with learning difficulties. They consisted of smiley faces,sad faces and a daily routine. I spent most of my time in the room laminating. Luckily the machine cocktail 2 sheets in one cardboard holder/sleeve. I asked to go back to the school as a couple of teachers asked me to go back. And the school made a lame excuse for me not to go back. Saying they only want students in. After all I did for them over the last 5 years. And this is the thanks I get. They didn't appreciate me. When myMam died I never received a phone call a card or anything from them. I took 3 weeks out and they asked me to go back. That's all they cared about. An extra pair of hands. The system is stupid because they would ask me to photo copy or print images from a digital camera. I couldn't do either because I needed a teachers electronic key fob on the printer or a password for the computer. They are not allowed to give me their key fob. How stupid is that? They should give volunteers a different fob and password.
